Chapter Two:

Kagome slowly awoke around ten the next morning, huddled in a heap on the livingroom floor. Hojo had already left for work leaving Kagome to her own musings. Her wrist was still throbbing in pain. Trying to move it but failing horribly, she decided that it was indeed broken. She attempted to stand but was too weak, so using her other had to pull her self off of the floor using the sofa as a means to support herself, Kagome slowly inched her way to the phone, which she then picked up and dialed a very familiar number...

"Hello"

"Umm...Inuyasha, it's me, Kagome." She was on the verge of tears, and the pain was unbearable.

"Kagome?? What's wrong? I haven't heard from you in months, we were all beggining to think you were dead! You sound horrible!!"

"Inuyasha, listen....I need you to come over here and pick me up. Please hurry, I need to get out of here...please...help me!" She begain sobbing into the phone.

"Ok, Kagome, I'll be there in just a few minutes, Ok?"

"Ok, Inuyasha, please hurry." Hanging up the phone Kagome collapsed on the floor in a heap, crying herself to sleep. Hopefully I'll never have to see Hojo's face again!

*Meanwhile With Inuyasha*

Shit Shit Shit, where the hell are my keys! Running around his apartment wildly, Inuyasha was hopping on one foot trying to tug on his left shoe, his long, snow-white hair twirled around his body untamed as his golded eyes surveyed the entryway looking for his car keys. Finding them on top of an end table, he quickly grabbed them and bouned out of the house torwards his red Jeep Cherokee. Jumping into the drivers seat he pealed out of the driveway and sped towards Kagome, afraid of what he might see.

Kagome and Inuyasha had been long time friends, dating back to high school, they even went out with eachother for the first couple of years of college. Discovering that they made better friends then romantic partners, they broke it of mutually, and still remained best of friends. Shortly afterwards Kagome found Hojo and Inuyasha found a pretty girl named Kikyo, who oddly enough looked ALOT like Kagome. The only differences between the two were the eyes and hair. Where Kagome's eyes were a bright blue that sparkled in the sunlight and could put the ocean to shame, Kikyo's were a cold, brown, and hardly ever relayed her emotions. Where Kagome's hair was wavy and at times unrully, Kikyo's was Strait and never was a hair out of place. As for their emotions, it was like comparing fire to ice.

Eventually pulling into Kagome's driveway about 5 minutes, 4 red lights, and 2 run stop signs later, Inuyasha runs bounding out of the car before even fully turning it off, and leaving the keys in the ignition. Breaking down the door upon smelling blood, Inuyasha runs to the livingroom following the scent of Kagome. What he saw was enough to make his eyes bleed red, his precious Kagome laid in a bloody bundle on the floor of the livingroom. Calming down his inner demon with the promise of whoever did this to her paying for it with their life later, he slowly creeped up to her and put his hand on her cheek, slowly moving it to look at him. His eyes turned red again. She looked nothing like the Kagome he remembered, oh yes, this person was going to pay.

Slowly kagome began to stir, jumping when she realized that someone was next to her, upon discovering that person was InuYasha, however, Kagome calmed greatly and gave him a big hug.

"Thank the Kamis you're here InuYasha, I don't know how much more I could have taken."

"Who did this to you? When I find them, I'm going to kill them Kagome, you know I will. How could I have let this happen, I had promised to always protect you and now look at you. I failed you as a friend Kagome, and I am sorry."

"Inuyasha, it wasn't your fault, it was mine, I wasn't strong enough, I should have been able to stop him, but I couldn't. I should of known that Hojo was like this, why didn't I know before all this happened...what did I do to deserve this? I'm so sorry Inu, I 'm so sorry I let you down."

"You didn't let me down, but we better get you out of here, before Hojo comes home then, I don't want to let you see me killing him, and I don't want to see him come after you either."

Nodding her head in agreement, Kagome slowly rose to her feet. Inuyasha grabbed for her hand, but accidentally grabbed her hurt wrist instead. Screamming in pain, Inuyasha immediately let her go. Looking down upon her broken wrist, Inuyasha winced, When did it get so bad, and how long has it been like this? Deciding it would be easier, and probably less painful for Kagome, Inuyasha lifted her up and carried her bridal style, not worrying about anything in the house, he would buy her new clothing and other items later. First things first, he had to get her to a doctor. Not trusting anybody else, Inuyasha took her to the only person he knew who would take care of Kagome, Inu Taisho, his father, but that meant that he would have to see his brother, Sesshomaru, as well. Careful buckling her into the front passanger seat, Inuyasha that got into the drivers seat and headed off to his father's estate.
