Prologue
“Why hasn't Shikon vanished?” Sango asked after watching Naraku died, watching Kagome making her wish, and the pink light glow around Shikon and then slowly faded out while the jewel stayed in place. “But the power of Shikon has vanished?” Kagome nodded but kept on staring at the jewel, seeing a different light, though it was faded, inside the jewel.
“Now everyone today we will learn about the sixth seal, seen that we went over the fifth yesterday.” Kagome looked up a bit sleepy, and stared at Yuka. “What seal?” Kagome squeaked when she saw the teacher bent over at her eye level. “Oh Kagome I hope your lungs aren't hurting you-“ What did grandpa said this time… Missing few bits of what the teacher said, Kagome tried with her tired mind to listen. “-Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, first four seals. Yesterday we went about Fifth Seal which is Vision of martyrdom or martyrs, visions of those who were slain for the word of God. Now today we shall learn Sixth Seal, Cosmic Disturbances or Heavenly Signs and the marking of the 144,000. Doesn't that sound exciting?”
Looking down at her history text book, seeing pictures of angels fighting devils and what appeared to be God up top. “Now there are two parts within the Sixth Seal, the sign of its opening and the event that followed. Every living creature on Earth and Heaven were shaken, though many records claim that it was a simple earthquake, those who have been warned by God about their sins, and all the saints that have complaint throughout their life that will turn the sun to black, the moon to blood. Now both the sun and the moon along with the stars are symbols of earthly dignitaries, great lights in the political or religious heavens. Withdrawing from God's wrath, all creatures are under God, which we all depend on the Will of God and we content ourselves to be in his glory.”
Kagome letting it run over it within her mind, slowly but surely, scratching started on the blackboard behind the teacher. Though the horrible noise was not present, chills went down Kagome's spin and kept going as the scratching turned into words. Standing up quickly, her chairing falling to the ground, which caused a loud thud, Kagome scan over the words over and over as something clicked, it read `Power within the lightness Jewel has return.' Feeling a hand grabbed Kagome's shoulder, she screamed as she turned with her glowing pink hands, she stopped when she saw it was her teacher. “Kagome, are you feeling okay?” Frozen stiff, Kagome saw a woman on the edge of the building outside. She was in a black kimono; her long straight black hair blew in the wind, as her black eyes pierce Kagome, as if the woman gripped Kagome's heart. Her eyes fluttering to a close, Kagome fell backwards, cries came from her classmates and her teacher, but the only thing Kagome heard was a faint voice that belonged to a woman. “You're next Seeker.”
At the same time 500 years ago…
“Are you saying that it's God's will that these people should die?” The priestess quickly catching up to the priest's pace. The priestess's Ushiromigoro caught in the wind created by her running. “But Priest Kin, all due respect my Priest, but this isn't how we work here.” Coming to a quick stop, the priestess slammed her feet to the ground, slightly bumping into the priest. As his shoulder rose up and back down, he turned around and faced the young priestess. “And all due respect to your people and you priestess, but it seems that God has not been here to guide you all to salvation.” Turning back around, the priest faced a small amount of 13, on their knees, their arms crossed over on the ground and their foreheads resting on them.
“Priestess, tell me this.” The young priestess walked up, but stopped behind the priest. Having her head bowed down, she raised her eyes up. 10 candles, up high on a stand flickered with the wind, as it blew gently. But what caught her interest was 4 men and what looked to be a woman with some sort of metal over their head, a clear line open over their eyes, meeting together in the middle went straight down over their noses and fan out, seeing their chin. At the back of the metal looking hats, it seem to be bird wings stretching out, as if ready to fly, with little symbols on top of the metal hat, running down on all sides of it with the same symbols, though all of them had different symbols, except for one. Eyeing the woman who had one symbol on the helmet then looking at what their wearing was kind of like a kimono. It hung loosely, but came together in the middle, as it seems to be a ribbon tying at the back. And the rest hang loosely under the ribbon. In their right hand, seem to be a hunting spear, with its pointy end like a pitch fork at the ground.
“What do you know about God?” Bringing her eyes back to the priest in front of her, only to see his head had turn on the side, with his left eyes staring back at her. The light from the candles glowed lightly on his face. “Kami?” His eye narrowed and took another breathe. “Not spirits priestess… El Elyon.” The priestess bowed her head again, but this time closed her eyes. “We believe in Kami, my Priest.” Turning his head back to the people in front of him, watching as an older priest walk around them, holding a golden candle holder by the gold chain melted from the top of the holder. As smoke came out, fanning out behind the old priest. Watching him walk around them a few times, he smiled. “And you said before that you have fallen angels in this land.” Seeing the smile from behind him, the priestess rubbed her hands together. “Fallen angels my Priest? Are they not Kam- God's creatures?” Turning around in a swift move, the priest slapped the priestess across the face, making her take a step to the right. “Don't you ever refer those dirty creatures with God, do you hear me! Fallen angels, demons! In what manor of life have you been brought up?” Bringing her hand to her left side of her face, she brought her eyes up to the back of the priest's back, tears coming to the surface.
“In the name of El Shaddai, let there be salvation from this tainted faith!” Just as the words left his mouth, the 5 men moved in, lifting the spear head up in the air, and started slashing the villagers. As the men moved onto them, the priestess fell to her knees, tears streaming down, as she watch them getting cut open, limbs being smashed, and throats getting sliced. Covering her mouth with her hand, the priestess quickly turned her head to the side, blocking out the image. The screams ran through the Priestess's head, the images kept running through her mind, as she clutched her head, squeezing her eyes shut. The priest was smiling down upon his men, upon the blood that was soaking the ground, until he felt a tug on his sleeve.
“For the sake of mankind, who do you serve?!” Priestess looking up from the ground, tug on his sleeve a little harder, who grinned back down at her. “The one and only God!” Just as he yelled at the priestess, a hooded person came up, stabbed the priestess in the throat, the priest watching as the life left her eyes, her blood running down the person's hand that still had a hold of the knife. Bowing his head, the stranger let go of the knife, watching as the priestess's body fell to the ground lifeless. The stranger leaned in next to the priest's ear and started mumbling. After a few minutes, the guards came and kneed on their right leg, the spear laid flat across the ground in front of them. “Shikon? It was in the hands of a Fallen Angel? My, maybe the Judgment is coming sooner than I thought.”
El Elyon, El Shaddai: other names for God.
Ushiromigoro: The back part of a kimono.
