Naraku was finally dead, his remains lay at the base of his own castle, the now whole Shikon jewel lay amongst them. Inuyasha slouched in exhaustion as he placed the tetsuaiga into its sheath, an equally weary Kagome made her way over to the jewel. Miroku sat against a wall smiling at his now hole less hand, Sango leaned against a wall in exhaustion, Naraku had given them the fight of their life.

"It's over," Kagome said as she held the now purified jewel in her hand, "its finally over." The jewel rose from her hand and hung in mid-air, Inuyasha watched the jewel intently as did the rest of the group.

"Priestess," a woman's voice rang from the floating jewel. "You have purified the jewel and halted Naraku's gain of power, so your duties in this era are over, you can go now."

"What do you mean?" Kagome asked bewildered.

"You have to go back to your own era," the jewel answered. "It is dangerous for you to stay in this time."

"What do you mean dangerous?" Inuyasha growled as he stood by Kagome's side.

"If Kagome is to stay her permanently then time as we know it will halt," the jewel responded. "Everything will just stop." Kagome gazed at the ground, Inuyasha frowned. "Kagome when you are ready you must take me and jump into the well one last time." Kagome nodded.

Another turning point a fork stuck in the road Time grabs you by the wrist directs you where to go.

Kagome grabbed the jewel out of the air and connected it to the necklace around her neck. She looked at Inuyasha, Inuyasha nodded and turned around as Kagome said her last goodbyes to the greatest friends she ever had. Kagome mounted on top of Inuyasha's back as he made long jumps towards the well.

So make the best of this test and don't ask why It's not a question but a lesson learned in time.

Inuyasha landed next to the well, and took Kagome off of his back. They stood by the well gazing at each other in silence, they didn't move or blink. Surprisingly Inuyasha was the one that took the offensive and hugged Kagome, at first she was surprised but then relaxed and hugged back.

It's something unpredictable But in the end is right I hope you had the time of your life.

"Kagome I-" Inuyasha halted, he had never done anything so romantic with someone else besides Kikyo. "Kagome for a while now I've been thinking about us and for that while Kagome I arranged my thoughts about you. Kagome I came to realize that I love you." Kagome looked up from Inuyasha's chest at Inuyasha's eyes. Their faces drew closer, and closer and closer, when their noses were touching Kagome turned her head away from Inuyasha.

"I'm sorry, I can't." Kagome said on the edge of tears, Inuyasha nodded. Kagome walked away from him and towards the well, she took one last look at him, Inuyasha's heart seemed to crack as he saw tears stream down her face.

So take the photographs and still frames in your mind Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time.

Kagome turned to the well and jumped in taking the final passage home, Inuyasha watched her go, he saw a tear land on the bricks before she was enveloped in the well. Inuyasha clenched his fists, gritted his teeth and howled. Through his eyelids he could see a bright pinkish glow emanating in front of him.

"Inuyasha…." A womanly voice called out to him.

500 years later…
Kagome climbed out of the well, still crying, she felt her knees crumple and she fell to her knees.
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial For what it's worth it was worth all the while.

Kagome didn't notice the pinkish glow behind her, she just kept on crying. Kagome heard footsteps though, she stood up and turned around only to be enveloped into Inuyasha's caring arms.

500 years, and 2 minutes back…
"Inuyasha, you stupid half demon," a woman's voice rang from the now glowing well. "I never said you couldn't stay in her era."

It's something unpredictable But in the end is right I hope you had the time of your life.
