~Momma loves her baby And Daddy loves you too~

Kagome would love to have my baby he thought to himself. And I'd love them too. A small smile graced hid lips at the thought of Kagome bearing his child. He'd have to ask her. But the next moment, his dreams were shattered.

~And the sea make look warm to you babe And the sky may look blue~

So many lies. Shattered dreams, broken hearts. Although someone may look happy on the outside, they may not be so on the inside. How could she paste on such warm smiles that reached ever her dark blue eyes, when all they did was cover up the coldness she felt inside? He knew how she felt so alone and scared. Yet she kept it all well hidden, just like he did.

~Oooh babe Oooh Baby Blue Ooooooh babe~

Inuyasha burst into the hut. And in his arms, none other than Kagome. He feel jealousy rise inside him, but it soon turned to worry. He head Inuyasha yell for Kaede, but that wasn't what he was paying attention to. You could barely see it because it blended in so well with Inuyasha's haori, but blood was seeping from Kagome's wrists. Kaede walked into the room, one arm behind her back as usual, and gasped when she saw the state Kagome was in. I just sat there dumbfounded, even as Kaede did what Kagome called "stitching" and patched her up best she could. I slowly turned to Inuyasha, who was looking away in shame.

~If you should go skating On the thin ice of modern life~

Kagome really was on thin ice. In fact, she always was now that he thought about it. She only wanted a normal life in her modern times, demo...Not only was she skating on thin ice with her life, but also with her heart. Poor girl. He smiled a bit despite the situation at how she always seemed to get into trouble, no matter how much he tried to keep her out of it.

~Dragging behind you the silent reproach Of a million tear stained eyes~

"She's not going to make it," Kaede said heavily. And that was it. That was when his heart ripped in half, as he was sure Kagome's had done countless times before him.
He stayed by her side all night. He could tell that everyone had cried. The village found out and they all wept for her. But not as he had. He stroked her pale cheek as he talked to her. "You're too strong to give up Kagome. I know you are. I still believe in you. You think that you have no reason to live. But you have one reason.me. I love you Kagome. I always have and always will." He bent down to kiss her goodbye, never noticing how her eyes fluttered open and she smiled ever so slightly. And so, he got up and left.

~Don't be surprised when a crack in the ice Appears under your feet~

Don't worry Kagome. I won't let you go alone. I love you and will stay by your side even in death he thought. He wasn't surprised that she finally cracked the thing ice that struggled to hold her weight. It just opened up and swallowed her whole. He just wished he could have saved her in time.

~You slipped out of your depth and out of your mind With your fear flowing out behind you~

But Hell. If she was going down, he'd go with her. He examined the small razor he had found clutched in one of her small hands and marveled at it. So innocent. Were these her thought too? It seemed almost impossible that something so innocent looking could cause others such great despair. He cocked and eyebrow then shrugged it off a bit annoyed. And he slashed. His world turned dizzy as the dark red blood oozed out of his wrists and dripped onto the hard forest floor under him. He was loosing his mind. He could see flashes of Kagome smiling at him and her crying on his shoulder. But he wasn't afraid. His fear had been flowing out behind him all his life, but this time he left it behind him. He let out a small crazed chuckle, thinking that he'd finally be able to be with Kagome forever very soon. And he fell to the ground.

~As you claw the thin ice~

All his life he'd been trying to stay on top of the thin ice that just wouldn't seem to want to hold his weight. But now-there was no more clawing to stay on top. No more fear, no more pain. Only the thought that he'd be with his Kagome very soon. And Miroku closed his eyes, a peaceful look on his face.
