Chapter 7
Are you serious! Did he really just ask her to be his girlfriend? She didn't even know he liked her like that. Well sure he kissed her but...come on now. It could've been a joke. Kagome was shocked. Beyond shocked! She sat there with her mouth open and wide eyes. He wasn't looking at her but she noticed how tense he was. Oh god! This is what she has been waiting for a she doesn't even know what to say. Should she? I mean, yeah she loves him so much but should she really? Of course she should.
"Inuyasha...?" She called wanting him to face her.
He closed his eyes for a moment then opened then and turned to her slowly. She smiled at how cute he looked when he was blushing.
"Yes. I'll be your girlfriend."
Inuyasha let out the breath he didn't know he was holding. She said yes! He was so overwelmed with joy he felt like jumping up and screaming. Of course he wouldn't embarrass himself like that though. Grinning wide he made a note to thank Miroku tomorrow.
Leaning forward he cupped her chin and kissed her lightly. Both of them realized that this kiss was more passionate then the last one when Inuyasha had surprised her. Sparks blasted in both of their minds making the kiss more intense. Boldly Inuyasha licked across her lips. Kagome hesitated but opened her mouth as he deepend it.
Kagome was the first to pull away. She smiled shyly and blushed.
"Get some sleep. You're tired." He kissed her forehead and leaned back keeping his arms wrapped around her. He would stay until she fell asleep.
As much as she wanted to stay awake and in his arms, she was just too exhausted. The second she closed her eyes she was asleep.

Two weeks later...
Inuyasha jumped slightly as he felt his phone vibrate. He was lost in a daze while taking notes for Kagome. It's been two weeks and they were doing great. There wasn't one day that he hasn't visited her at the hospital. She seemed to be doing better. Her doctor took a biopsy from her bone marrow and she has been in chemotherapy for a couple weeks now. The only thing he was looking forward to was when she would be under radiation treatment. That meant she would be able to come home and back to school.
Seeing that the teacher was gradeing some papers and the rest of the class was either sleepin or doing work he pulled out his cell phone thankful he sat in the back. Slouching behind the big football player in front of him he saw Kagomes number on the caller ID. Why was she calling him during school?
"Yeah?" He whispered.
"Inuyasha? Hey! Sorry to call you during school but I had to tell you now." Kagome said. He noted she sounded excited about something.
"What's up?" Now he was curious.
"I just got out of another biopsy and Dr. Hiro came and said I was doing better. He took me off chemo and he said I can take radiation and come home. Of course I said yes so now I'm packing."
He could picture her smiling widely right now and walking around in a hospital gown. "Do you have a ride? Is your mom gonna pick you up?"
"No. She can't get off work until later tonight but I can't wait to leave the hospital so I thought I'd take a cab or something." He heard some voices in the backround. "Oh and Akio says hi."
"Yeah. I said hi back. Don't get in a cab. Wait for me."
She was quiet for a while. "But you're only in third period. It'll be hours until you get out of school. Inuyasha you can't skip."
"I'll be there in about an hour."
"Inuyasha..."
"Bye babe."
She sighed. "Bye."
He closed his phone and grabbed his bookbag. Making sure the teacher was still busy he glanced at him. Good. His nose was practically buried in the papers. Setting his bookbag on the floor he kicked it out the door. He always sat in the back near the door. He didn't know why but at least now it came handy. Once again glancing at the teacher he got up slowly and slipped out the room quick but quietly. Some kids saw him but who cares. They wouldn't rat on him. They knew better. After grabbing his bag he raced out to his car and left towards the hospital. (i've actually done that before with my friend lol, i didnt get in trouble. teacher nvr noticed. this was about a month ago)

"So...finally leaving me huh?"
"I'm not leaving you. Just the hospital. I promise I'll come to visit as much as I can and I'll bring cards and board games." Kagome said.
"It's alright. I'm glad you're doing better." Akio smiled slightly.
Kagome returned the gesture. "Thanks. You'll get better soon. I know you will. And soon enough you'll be back home just like me."
Akio nodded and decided to change the subject. It wouldn't be the same without her here. They have become really close friends and now she was leaving. "How are you and Inuyasha doing? Two weeks right?"
Kagomes smile widened, if it could. "Two weeks yesterday. And we are doing great. I lo-like him so much." She blushed and turned around quickly, embarrsed by her almost slip.
"You don't gotta be embarrased. You haven't told him right?" He asked.
"Told him what?" She asked clueless.
"You know." She blushed again and shook her head. "And why not?"
"It's not that easy to tell someone you're in love with them."
"Don't I know it. But it's better if you tell him now. Don't you want to know if he returns it?"
Kagome nodded and sat next to him on his bed. "Yes and no."
"Why no?" Akio asked curiously.
"Yes, because I want to know if he loves me back. And no, because I don't want to know if he doesn't love me back." She wondered if that made sense.
"It's better knowing then assuming."
She shrugged. "I guess."
"Try it. Tonight when you get home with him. Tell him how you feel. It'll be fine."
"But I don't know how to say it. I mean, I do. But I don't know what to say. Should I just say "I love you" or like...something else." She was babbling and she knew it.
"He's going to be here soon right? Ok...tell you what. Try it on me."
Kagome looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "It's not the same when I say it to you. I love you like a brother so I can say it whenever."
"Pretend I'm Inuyasha. Just do it. It'll help." He encouraged her.
"Ok..." She took a deep breath and moved to face him fully. "I love you."
"You have to say it like you mean it. If you're telling Inuyasha you want him to know you're for real."
"Akio..."
"Kagome."
She rolled her eyes but did it. Closeing her eyes and picturing Inuyasha in her mind smiling she opened her eyes and faintly saw him. She smiled and took a deep breath then let it out. "...I love you." Wow. She did feel better. Not a whole lot but it helped a little to calm her nerves.
"What the hell?" She jumped when she heard the all too familiar voice of her boyfriend. "What the fuck is going on?"
"Inuyasha!"
"Tell me I did not just fucking hear that. Please." He growled out.
Kagome got nervous. If he heard that...then she's gonna have to explain why she said it. Then he will know everything. "I..."
"Chill man. Kagome tell him." Akio said nodding towards the angry hanyou.
"I...I was...practicing." She said slowly.
"For what?" He growled.
Her heart was beating so fast she thought it was going to bust out of her chest. And Inuyasha wasn't helping with his yelling. "I was practicing...to tell you. I...I love you, Inuyasha."
Shock was far from what Inuyasha had felt at that second. He was so surprised that he was at a lose of words.
"And that's my cue. I'll head down to the patients room. See you this weekend Kagome?" Akio asked getting up with his IV stand.
She nodded and stood up to give him a hug. "I'll stop by. Be awake and ready alright?"
"See ya later." He returned Kagomes hug and patted Inuyasha on the back before leaving.
Inuyasha had been staring at Kagome the whole time, total shock written on her face. She squirmed under his gaze and fidgeted her hands. "I should get my stuff. You ready to go?"
"Kagome."
She didn't look at him and picked up her bags. Too afraid that if she did she would lose control of her feelings and break down right there.
"Kagome look at me." He said sternly but at the same time gentle enough.
She took in a shaky breath and turned around facing him. At first she was surprised to find such emotions in his eyes. "Inuyasha...?"
He took her hand and pulled her towards him kissing her gently on the lips. He wasn't so good with words and he really didn't know what was appropriate to say right now. Sure he could say he loved her back because he did but it wasn't that easy for him. Actions show more than words and he wanted to show her how he felt. Kissing her so gently and passionatly he rubbed the tip of his tongue over her lips and gladly deepend the kiss when she opened for him. One hand on the small of her back and the other on her hip he brought her closer to him. Her body molded perfectly with his, almost as if they were made for eachother. Her small hands running freely through his long silver hair was the best sensation. He prayed to every god she knew what he was trying to tell her. She pulled back when she was out of breath and clung to him. He kissed her cheek and forehead taking her hand in his. Without another word they silently grabbed Kagomes things and left the hospital ready to go home for the first time in weeks.

Later that day Kagome had just finished packing and damn was she tired. The doctor had told her to keep coming to the hospital for blood test and check ups during her radiation and to get plently of rest and eat well. She would do that but right now she just wanted to get into her old missed bed and fall right asleep. Inuyasha was downstairs talking on the phone. Just as she was about to lock her door to change he came in with some water.
"Get dressed." He said.
She did a double take. "What?"
"I said get dressed." He repeated himself sitting on her bed.
"What for?"
"I'm taking you out to dinner. Get into something nice. Not to fancy. But still fancy."
Kagome wanted to scream! She wanted to go to sleep! But Inuyasha was taking her out. And she was kinda hungry. Two more hours couldn't hurt. "Where?"
"At a restuarant." He said.
"Which one?"
"Damn women. You ask too many questions. Just get dressed."
"I can't."
"And why not?" He raised an eyebrow at her.
"Because."
"Because why?"
"Now who's asking too many questions?"He growledat her. Kagome giggled. "I can'tbecauseyou're in my room."
He opened his mouth but closed it right away and blushed leaving the room. Kagome smiled and went in search of her closet.
"Reservations are in an hour. Hurry up." He called from outside her closed door.
"Call my mom and tell her you're taking me out."
"I'm on it."
She heard him leave and looked through her clothes. She was still very thin and she didn't have many dresses. But she remembered a dress she wore for a party a few months ago. It's very pretty and not too fancy. She put it in the back of her closet. Walking back there she pulled out a plastic cover and inside was her dress. It was a navy blue and low cut v-neck in the front and cut in the back like a V halfway down her back. It had rhinestones on the edges and hugged her hips tightly. Just above her waistline in the back it scrunched up and flowed down to her feet. Setting it out on her bed she grabbed her towel and decided to take a quick shower.
Soaping herself and rinsing quickly she came back to her room and towel dried her hair. Getting a black bra and panties she put them on then the dress. Returning to her closet she got out some black 2-inch heels and put those on. After the dress was on she did her make up. Some eyeliner and mascarra with some blue eye shadow and lip gloss.
Her hair was last. She got out some pins and hair clips and put her hair up in a neat bun with some strands hanging around the sides. With a curling iron she curled the strands and then she was set. After grabbing her purse and a jacket she went downstairs to meet Inuyasha surprised to him dressed up as well.
"When did you go home?" She asked surprised.
"I didn't. I had these clothes in a bag. I knew I was taking you out tonight." He shrugged looking her up and down. He cleared his throat. "Damn. You look...beautiful."
Kagome blushed and smiled. She look at him dressed in dress up black pants and a maroon dress shirt with a black tie. He looked good and the shirt was loose but showed off his muscles. "You look nice."
He nodded once and took her hand. "You ready to go?"
Kagome nodded. "Let's go."
He kissed her lightly once and then they went out into the night to the car.
Sorry it took soooo long. I started this like two days ago but I had so much to do. My cuzins came over yesterday and I been busy a lot since i been out trying to get my leaners permit. Which I passed the test and now I can drive!...At least legally. Yay! I'm so happy! Oh and this story isn't over yet. Just because she's out of the hospital doesn't mean anything. Hope yall like it!
