Goodbye
The cold screams echoed through the rain, as the final drops of blood tainted the grass a deep purple.
Slowly sinking to her knees, she felt the searing pain in her stomach. Her bow hit the grass with a dull thump, as her cerulean eyes blinked open and closed. The view around her was spinning, making her feel light headed.
"Kagome!" The girl's magenta eyes filled with concern for her friend. Trying to support the weight of her friend on her shoulders, it became almost impossible as they both slumped towards the ground.
The dull thud of the rain against the blade, and the soft crunch of grass beneath his feet.
He felt numb, but the feeling wouldn't leave. It should've been better now. Naraku was gone, right? This is what they had been fighting for, to get the Shikon Jewel back in one piece. She had given it her all for the team, for the jewel, and for him.
"No Damnit! It wasn't supposed to be like this..." he trailed off, bending down. "C'mon, you're going to be okay!"
She looked up at him softly, doubled over slightly as she tried to stop the blood flow.
"We're-I'm going to get you to Kaedae. Everything will be okay." His voice was shaky as he tried to lift her from the ground without hurting her more.!'
"Kagome," her eyes became dark, and clouded over, closing them, and opening them less and less often. "No, Kagome. C'mon, you gotta stay awake!" He stopped, and set her down, pushing her weight off of Sango, on to him as her blue eyes ficked open again.
"I-I-Inuyasha," She shuddered from lack of heat, moving slightly closer towards Inuyasha. She held onto his rosary as he picked her up bridal style, he started back towards the small village up in the distance. "Inuyasha, stop,"
"No---No, Kagome, we need to get you to see Kaede," She tried wriggling slowly out of grasp, and once on her own feet, clutched her side. Her small hands had gradually been painted a bright shade of red.
The smoke stacks gradually grew darker, and closer, with every step.
"Inuyasha, I want you to have this," She drew out her palm, clutching the Shikon Jewel.
"Ka-Kagome, I---"
"I think you might need it more then I will," She chuckled softly to herself. "Goodbye, Inuyasha," She whispered softly.
"Don't talk like that, Kagome," Her head turned away from the hanyou's liquid warm eyes as her breaths evened out. "We're here, see?"
He felt her hand slack grip against the roasary, as he got no response. Her scent of strawberries was fading slowly, blending in with the smell of her blood.
