Guardian Angel

Prologue - The Half Angel

 

The story of my life, as you could call it, isn't like that of any other being. My parents weren't any normal parents and I am not your average person.

 

My name is Inuyasha, and like any other person, I fell in love and fell hard. So hard, you could say I fell from the skies to the hard earth. Heh, that's what most people would say.

 

But the love I had… still have, isn't just your average feeling. Just as, my story isn't the average love story.

All my “life” I was teased, called names, and overall, I wasn't accepted. Of course I wasn't. I'm not a full human. My father was an angel and my mother was a human. Naturally, they fell in love somehow and thus, the abomination, Inuyasha, was born.

 

To protect those on Earth, I was taken up into Heaven to live with my father and become a guardian angel. The guardian angels are basically, just angels who guard and watch over the humans on Earth. For every human, there is one angel to watch over them.

 

My human was a girl named Kagome Higurashi

 

And this is where the story of my love… begins.

“Inuyasha!” Inu Taisho's voice boomed awakening the boy. Inuyasha groaned and sat up from his bed, eying his father lazily. The two shared an odd glare but remained silent.

 

“What is this, Inuyasha?” His father was the one to break the silence and walked over to his son's bed. In his hands was a paper. Inu Taisho held it out in front of the boy, hoping he would understand.

 

“Yeah, what is it?” Inuyasha asked rudely. His father had no right to just wake him up. He does sleep.

“You aren't doing your duties. I don't think you understand that you can be thrown out of Heaven for this!” His father shook with anger. “If you do not obey the rules, Inuyasha, you will become a normal mortal and be sent to live with your mother. I know you do not want that!”

 

“What am I not doing, then?” The half angle sat up and stared at the paper in his father's hand. Inu Taisho took a deep sigh and handed the paper to his son.

 

“She killed herself last night.”

 

“Who?” Inuyasha asked confused.

 

“The damn woman you're supposed to be watching over! Kikyo did!” Inu Taisho screamed. “She committed suicide last night, Inuyasha. All because you didn't have the heart to help her when she needed you.”

 

“She never asked me for help!” Inuyasha sneered. “All she ever did was complain about how miserable she is and how much she wanted to die! What was I supposed to do?! Okay Kikyo, here you go, I'll just help you die then! Dad, you don't get it!”

 

Inu Taisho growled. “No, YOU don't get it, Inuyasha! This is not something that can be happening around here. You can't let people die! You're not playing God, but you sure as hell can't just let things go like this! You should have saved her a long time ago!” He stood up from Inuyasha's bed and stomped over to the door. “Myouga will be here shortly to discuss this with you.”

 

With that said, Inu Taisho walked out of the room, leaving the half angel alone. Inuyasha scoffed and played with his long white locks. `I didn't know she'd kill herself… how is that my fault? What could I have done?'

 

The sound of his door opening caused Inuyasha to jump. There, In the doorway, stood a short `man' with big eyes and glasses.

 

“Inuyasha.” The man spoke. “I see you have failed at your first attempt to guard a human. Just as I could expect from your lazy and carefree attitude.” The man took several steps toward the half angel.

 

“So what are you going to do, Myouga?” Inuyasha started in his sarcastic tone of voice. “Send me down to Earth, make me human?” The man cleared his throat.

 

“No, Inuyasha. I spoke with your father and he is very upset with you!” The words made Inuyasha's puppy ears flatten against his skull. “However, we would like to give you another chance… to guard some one.” Inuyasha cocked his head to the side.

 

“Kikyo was not pure enough to enter Heaven, so instead, her soul remains on Earth. Today about two hours ago, she was reincarnated into a girl named Kagome. This new born girl will be your second and last chance.” Myouga said.

 

Inuyasha nodded in understanding as Myouga left his room.

 

“Kagome, huh?”
