Night came up quickly with a nearly dead Totosai for not telling the group a damn thing about the Banryuu. Except for that if Banryuu is pure then so should Bankotsu.
`I don't understand. Bankotsu is not pure, I would sense it if her was. But then again is not tainted either like last time. Maybe it's because he is not as evil as he used to be. But then Banryuu wouldn't have become that pure, it would've just been less evil.'
“I don't understand.” Kagome mumbled. Everybody was asleep inside of the cave. Oddly the cave had a ton of rooms somewhere deep in the back. It was odd; she never thought that Totosai's cave was this big and comfortable. I mean Totosai actually had mats and like a little spot to lie on like the one at Kouga's cave. It was filled with fur since the cave got really cold.
“What are you talking about now?” Inuyasha asked Kagome. Kagome turned so that she was facing him. Inuyasha's arm rested around her waist as he looked at her.
“I was just thinking about what Totosai said.” Kagome said. “It just doesn't make any sense.”
“Don't worry about that right now.” Inuyasha said.
“And what do you expect me to do Inuyasha?” Kagome asked.
“You could always go to sleep. I know you're tired.” Inuyasha said.
“I'm thinking too much to go to sleep Inuyasha.” Kagome said. Inuyasha rolled his eyes. She was too perplexed about this. He could see it on her face. Her eyebrows were furrowed and she had a distant look to her eyes.
“Maybe I should help you forget.” Inuyasha said as he climbed on top of her to straddle her. He smirked at her surprised look.
“Kagome…” He whispered in her ear. “You smell so…” Inuyasha didn't finish what he said as he nibbled the mate mark on her neck. She instantly moaned.
“What?” She asked wanting to hear what he was going to say. Inuyasha's hands traveled down her body. “I smell so…what?” Inuyasha pulled her top off and trailed kisses along her body. His hands grabbed her breast as he kissed her. Tongue battling hers for dominance, and in the end he won. She moaned into his mouth as he fondled her nipples. Inuyasha then broke the kiss and trailed his tongue around her ear causing her to shiver.
“Edible.” He whispered. As his hands traveled further down her body and tugged down her pants and undergarments. He traveled his hands over her inner thigh and she shivered as his fingers felt could against her warm body.
He ran his fingers around her entrance before pushing two fingers inside of her. She whimpered on moaned. He enjoyed the look on her face as he caused her pleasure. Her hands grasped the fur that lie beneath them as he continued to pump his fingers inside of her.
Kagome bit at her bottom lip so that she wouldn't moan so loud. There were many demons in other rooms that she was positive didn't want to hear her express the pleasure that she was in. She couldn't help but groan in disappointment as Inuyasha's fingers left her. She opened her eyes to see the fiery red instead the usual golden eyes that she was used to. She knew that they wouldn't be done anytime soon.
Inuyasha raised her leg and put it over his shoulder before lowering his head. His tongue flicked out to taste her before he tightened his hold on her waist and swirled his tongue around the inside of her.
Kagome's head shot back as her hand went to grab his silver hair. She had to admit that she loved it when he did this. Her eyes were squeezed shut and her mouth was slightly parted as she whimpered and moaned. She arched her back raising her hips to meet his lips. He smirked against her before pushing her back down. His tongue came out to lick her clit. She moaned louder.
Inuyasha's ears twitched from hearing that sound. He loved that sound. His hands tightened roughly around her hips and she whimpered in painful pleasure. She knew there would be a bruise from that but she didn't care. She focused on the feeling of his tongue as it entered her again. It swirled around the insides of her.
“Yasha!” Kagome moaned. He growled at the sound. He enjoyed hearing that out of her mouth. He would kill anybody else if they called him that, but hearing that name laced with pleasure escaping her mouth was delicious. She tasted so good to him. He could feel her walls begin to constrict around his tongue and quickly pulled out from her.
Inuyasha stood to quickly discard of his clothes. Climbed back on top of Kagome and kissed her. He easily deepened the kiss as he positioned himself at her entrance and entered her. Kagome moaned into his mouth at the feeling of being filled. He started a pace that was far from slow, but Kagome could still move her hips with him. He broke the kiss to let her breathe and instead focused on the mark that he had given.
Kagome had her hands scratching at his back as he moved inside of her. Inuyasha sucked at her pulse as her moans gradually grew louder. She was almost finished and her sped up the pace. The burning feeling in her stomach grew to a maximum and she couldn't help the loud moan that escaped her mouth. At the same time Inuyasha bit down on his mark again. He lapped up the blood as he held Kagome in his arms.
“Very edible.” Inuyasha nearly growled. Kagome looked at her lover and saw the red tinge in his eyes begin to fade. She kissed him deeply before falling into sleep.

Kagome awoke with the feeling of somebody's eyes watching her. She opened her eyes and stared into Inuyasha's. They were still slightly pink. She raised her eyebrow in silent question. It didn't take long for them to fade last time.
“It's going to take longer every time Kagome.” Inuyasha said as if he was reading her mind. “It's harder to control myself.” Kagome just blinked at his answer.
Inuyasha let her go and stood to put his clothes back on. Kagome did the same and they left the room together. Inuyasha had his hands in his sleeves as usual and Kagome had a distant look on her face. Inuyasha looked at her though the corner of his eye and frowned. He stopped her before they left the cave.
“What's wrong?” Inuyasha asked her. Kagome blinked and looked at him as if she just noticed that he was there.
“Me?” Kagome asked.
“Who else Kagome?” Inuyasha asked. Kagome got this stupefied look on her face before she grinned.
“Nothings wrong with me.” Kagome said. Inuyasha frowned and stepped closer to her causing her to take a step back.
“Don't lie to me Kagome.” Inuyasha said as he continued to walk towards her. Kagome soon ran into a wall and Inuyasha put his hands on both sides of her head.
“I-I…I'm just worried Inuyasha.” Kagome whispered. His eyes softened as she looked at her feet. He brought his fingers up to lift her chin to face him.
“You shouldn't worry yourself Kagome.” Inuyasha said. “Especially over something that we aren't even sure will happen. Kagome looked into his eyes and smiled. She nodded as Inuyasha brought her into a warm embrace. Inuyasha soon turned around and left with Kagome right behind him.
Outside was a sight to see as Sesshomaru and Wakana pestered Noriko. Emi and Manami gossiped and giggled about something. Sango slapped Miroku which was normal except she and Ayame giggled as Shippo set Kouga's tail on fire. Suikotsu sat beside a now bruised Miroku as they spoke about something, Jakotsu and Bankotsu wrestled as Renkotsu was left alone to be bothered by Totosai. Renkotsu looked as if he wanted to strangle Totosai.
Myoga made his presence none by landing on Inuyasha's shoulder and began to suck his blood. Inuyasha brought a hand up to slap the damned flea.
“When the hell will you learn?” Inuyasha asked.
“But My lord, blood is so tasty.” Myoga said.
“Inuyasha we are leaving.” Sesshomaru said. Then he took off with everybody else. Inuyasha grabbed Kagome not wanting her to use the mark this time. Kagome didn't complain, in fact she snuggled into his warmth. Inuyasha tightened his hold on her and took off. From the direction that they were going he could only guess that they were heading towards the village by his forest.
Once they entered Inuyasha's forest Inuyasha took the lead. As they passed the well Kagome stared at it feeling its power. She really did miss home, but this was not to time to think about home. They quickly made there way to Kaede's hut and Inuyasha set Kagome down.
They entered the hut and found Kaede making some soup. Kagome immediately went to take over. Kaede nodded at let Kagome finish the soup. Kaede was the one that taught her anyways.
“Did ye find what you were looking fro Inuyasha?” Kaede asked.
“No. We found more shit to bring along with us though.” Inuyasha said. Kaede nodded.
“I thought so.” Kaede said. “Well can ye do me a favor?”
“What?” Inuyasha asked.
“Could ye get some wood to start a fire?” Kaede asked. Inuyasha rolled his eyes but left dragging Miroku with him as he went past him. Miroku who was about to grab Sango's ass immediately complained about hearing Kaede as Inuyasha not him.
As Kagome continued to stir the soup she felt somebody's eyes on her back. She turned to look over her shoulder only to end up looking at deep red and burgundy. Kagome looked at him for a bit with an unfazed expression before turning back to the soup adding a vegetable to it. Even though she appeared unfazed she was very uncomfortable under Lord Noriko's gaze. Sango walked up to her friend and whispered in her ear that she was going to the hot springs. Kagome nodded and Kaede took over the soup.
Kagome made her way to the hot springs where Sango waited. She looked at the springs and smiled. She quickly undressed and sat across from Sango and sighed.
“Comfortable?” Sango asked with a smile on her face.
“Yep!” Kagome giggled. It's been a while since she and Sango could relax together like this.
They continued to sit there for a while in silence. It was actually very relaxing. Sango decided to break the silence.
“So, Kagome. How does it feel?” Sango asked.
“How does what feel?” Kagome asked.
“To be having sex with a demon Lord?” Sango asked and giggled at Kagome's blush.
“Ummm…is that a trick question?” Kagome asked. Sango laughed at her.
“Just don't answer the question.” Sango said.
“Okay. Well I have a question for you then.” Kagome said looking at Sango.
“What is it?” Sango asked not sure if she really wants to hear the question.
“When are you and Miroku going to get together?” Kagome asked.
“It's funny how Kohaku asked me that same question.” Sango said.
“Where is Kohaku anyways?” Kagome asked.
“He and Kanna went to search for some herbs.” Sango said. “I think they kind of like each other.”
“Like how I think Shippo likes Rin?” Kagome asked.
“Yeah like that.” Sango said.
“Don't try to change the subject. Why haven't you made the moves on Miroku yet?” Kagome asked.
“Well…uhh.” Sango said. “I have to go; you know that soup sounds great right now.” Sango then got out of the hot springs and put her clothes on before taking off towards the village, not noticing how she passed red and burgundy eyes.
Kagome sighed and shook her head at her friend. She then quickly got up and put her clothes on. She began to walk back and about half way there she noticed a presence that shouldn't have been there. It was that some feeling she got when she was making the soup. She just felt…uncomfortable. Kagome instantly knew who it was and stopped in her tracks.
“Excuse my rudeness, but what the hell are you doing out here Lord Noriko?” Kagome asked.
“Isn't it obvious priestess?” Noriko asked.
“No, how about you elaborate?” Kagome asked turning around to face him. Noriko took a step towards Kagome who instantly took a step backwards.
“I came to see you priestess.” Noriko stated.
“I'm positive that I do not want to see you at this moment, but I'm sure Inuyasha would if he knew you were spying on me why I bathed.” Kagome said. Noriko smirked.
“You wouldn't tell him.” Noriko said as he took another step towards her. Kagome let her eyes narrow at him. Usually she appeared to be unfazed by him, but this time she really was annoyed by him.
“How can you be so sure?” Kagome asked and inwardly cursed when he disappeared from her sight. Kagome set up a barrier around her when she realized that he was behind her. Noriko hissed once he burned his hand from touching her barrier.
“Now Lord Noriko, you know that I would love to kill you right now right?” Came a voice that Kagome knew all too well. Noriko cursed himself for not leaving once she set up that barrier, or maybe even before that.
“Lord Inuyasha, I was simply making sure that your Lady made it back to the hut safely.” Lord Noriko said.
“Shut the fuck up. Let this be a warning, next time I won't be so lenient.” Inuyasha said. Kagome finally let the barrier down, they reason as to why she didn't let it down before was because the scent of blood. Kagome turned around to see Noriko with his hands up and Inuyasha had his Tetsuiga pointed at the mans back.
“Come Kagome.” Inuyasha said before putting Tetsusaiga away and walking back towards the hut. Kagome quickly followed.
“Why the hell didn't you just leave when you realized he was there?” Inuyasha asked as they walked back from the hot springs. Kagome knew he was angry, but she wasn't having that.
“It's not like I would let anything happen! I am a priestess Inuyasha, in case you've forgotten.” Kagome said in her defense.
“A priestess who has proven many times before that she can't protect herself!” Inuyasha argued.
“And a priestess who has proven that she is more powerful than most many times more!” Kagome said as her anger flared.
“Kagome I kn-“
“How dare you even say that to me?” She was too angry to stop.
“Just listen to me-“
“No! You listen to me! I am sick and tired of all of this nonsense that you keep throwing in my face! I can take care of myself!” Kagome was so angry she didn't notice Inuyasha's red eyes until late.
“Shut. The fuck. Up.” Inuyasha growled. Kagome was surprised. Inuyasha had never turned full demon on her unless they were in the middle of sexual relations. They often got angry at each other, but things never got that bad. Kagome was silent and stood still even as Inuyasha approached her. “You just don't seem to understand.”
“…” Kagome couldn't talk. She was still stunned that he got angry enough to change because of her.
“I work hard to get things done and protect you daily, but you don't seem to care.”
“Inuyasha, I-“
“I said shut the hell up!” Kagome stared wide eyed at him and she felt the tears welling up in her eyes. Inuyasha glared at her before wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close. “I worry about you everyday, and yet you get angry at me for wanting to keep you safe. I know that you are very powerful Kagome, but you are my mate as well as my companion and it is my duty to keep you safe.”
Kagome looked up at his face and noticed that his eyes were still red; she realized that he would never turn on her to harm her. She felt bad now, for making him feel unappreciated.
“Can I speak now?” Kagome whispered. Inuyasha smirked before nodding, liking the feeling of dominance. “I'm sorry, I won't do it again.”
Inuyasha let go of her and began walking again his eyes still blazing red. Kagome knew he was still pissed.
“Thank you, I love you.” She whispered and he stopped. He turned around and noticed she was still in the same spot where he left her. As he looked at her he couldn't be angry with her anymore. He walked up to her and grabbed her hand as his eyes returned back to the golden amber that Kagome was used to.
“Come on.” Kagome smiled and nodded as they began to walk back towards the village. He never said I love you back, but Kagome didn't need him to, she knew that he loved her just as much she loved him.
When they arrived in the village Kaede was finished with the stew and was about to serve them.
“Where is Lord Noriko?” Kaede asked.
“Out” was all Inuyasha said before sitting down with his arms in his sleeves. Sesshomaru stared at Inuyasha while Emi gave Kagome a look. Kagome decided to help Kaede with serving the food, since they had so much more people on there hands today. She really did not want to discuss what had just happened moments earlier. It wasn't something she would just tell anybody.
“Hey Kagome, do you have any Pocky?” Shippo asked.
“Well Shippo I-“ BOOM!
Sesshomaru was the first one up, followed by Inuyasha. Kagome went to garb her arrows while Sango went to get her Hiraikotsu. By the time the girls were outside the village was already in ruins. Homes were knocked over, trees were broken, and dead bodies covered the ground. Kagome couldn't believe her eyes! The village that they worked so hard to protect was beyond repairable all because of an intruder that somehow snuck up on all of them. Kagome felt so stupid. `How could I let this happen? How could a demon sneak up on a priestess? I of all people should have sensed that demon that Inuyasha is trying to get to. Wait a minute that demon looks familiar…'
“It's Mouryoumaru!” Kagome yelled and Inuyasha stared in shock at the man in front him in which they thought had died along with Kagura. `What the hell is he still doing alive?'
Mouryoumaru laughed out loud as he swung off Inuyasha's futile attempt to take him down. Inuyasha was angry that he wasn't strong enough to take him down. He might have to use his Adamant Barrage.
“It is futile Inuyasha. Just hand over the jewel and I will leave all alive.” Mouryoumaru tried to make a deal.
“And let you use it so you could be like Naraku? Tell hell with that!” Inuyasha yelled as he prepared to use his Adamant Barrage.
“You will all perish either way. I have great powers. You all under estimate me greatly. I despised Naraku and knew that he would fail. I simply came up with a plan and went and got stronger while you killed Naraku. Now all I need is the jewel so that I could became the must superior in the world!” Mouryoumaru said as he threw Bankotsu somewhere into the forest.
“Lord Inuyasha! You must not give him the jewel!” Myoga yelled as he hopped on Inuyasha's shoulder.
“I know that!” Inuyasha yelled in frustration.
“If he gets a hold of the jewel I'm afraid that if you don't stop him then he will change the future forever, and Kagome might not be born! He will destroy all human!” Myoga said. “She could disappear forever!”
Inuyasha was shocked, furious, and possessive all in that moment. He would not lose his mate to some demon because that demon was insane, but just as Inuyasha said Adamant Barrage Mouryoumaru was nowhere in sight. He heard a scream and was soon racing to Kagome's side. She laid on the ground her hand in a fist as she stared ahead of her in shock. She was not hurt, but she seemed out of it.
“He took it.” She said as she that thought had finally gotten to her, she ran back to see if Kaede was okay not wanting to talk to anybody else at the moment. Inuyasha was left to figure out what the hell happened as Kaede talked to Kagome at the hut. Everybody seemed to be trying to figure out that question. Even Sesshomaru looked out of it as he contemplated the earlier scenes in his head.
“What do we do now?” Shippo asked. Nobody seemed to have an answer. They went to help the villagers rebuild since they couldn't find Mouryoumaru's scent. It was like going after another Naraku, but this time they all know that this would be harder. They knew that they would lose many friends in this next battle.

That night Inuyasha held Kagome close to him. He knew she wasn't sleep and was probably thinking about there unwanted visitor from earlier. Inuyasha had to admit that he didn't expect for Mouryoumaru to pop up like that. Not only was he not able to smell, or hear Mouryoumaru, but Kagome was not able to sense him! This guy was going to be difficult and Inuyasha was not looking forward to the upcoming battle.
Kagome shifted in his arms. Inuyasha could sense her distress and he bent over to nuzzle her neck when he smelled something. Inuyasha blinked. Kagome had never smelt like this before, in fact this was something that he was positive he'd only smelt once before a long time ago around his mother. It was a little while before she had told him that she had lost his little…?
Inuyasha's eyes widened. This couldn't be possible. Actually it made perfect sense; he and Kagome had already mated. But this was horrible timing. Kagome wouldn't know until at least another two weeks, since the symptoms wouldn't start until then, but Kagome just couldn't be pregnant! At least not right now!
 
Kagome awoke to find Inuyasha staring at her with worried eyes, although he didn't show it on his face. She raised an eyebrow at him. She wondered why he was so worried. She put a smile on her face, but his worried gaze did not waver.
“What is it?” She whispered, not knowing if the others were awake or not. Inuyasha then seemed to realize his expression and it suddenly went blank. Kagome frowned and he looked at her apologetically. Kagome's eyes narrowed. He was hiding something from her. `Why is he hiding something from me? What is he hiding from me?'
Inuyasha felt bad, but he couldn't tell her, she would begin to worry and wouldn't be focused. He needed her focused. There was a serious problem going on and he didn't need her worrying until she found out that she was pregnant. He could feel her hurt and anger, but he wouldn't tell her until one of the other demons noticed. He could tell now because she is his mate, the others will know about a week. That was a week for him to plan and work on what he needed to do. He knew that he couldn't let her fight, unless absolutely necessary, of course she would be angry and feel like he was treating her like a child but what could he do? He would have people that he could trust and one person she could trust and Shippo with her at all times. That means that he would have to tell somebody. That means he would tell Miroku, and he hated to say it, but Sesshomaru as well. Everything just became very difficult.
“It's nothing serious Kagome. At least not now.” Inuyasha said. Kagome just glared, but he smiled and kissed her temple before helping her to stand. “I have to go speak to Sesshomaru. Sango and Kaede are out picking herbs near the springs.” Inuyasha said before running into the trees. Kagome looked at the spot that he was at earlier and her anger spiked. `He's hiding something -it's something important I just know it- and he lied and said that it wasn't serious, and then he just runs off? He is in sooo much trouble.' Kagome went near the springs to speak with Kaede and Sango. There was no point in standing in the hut when there was absolutely nobody there.
Inuyasha followed Sesshomaru's scent and ended up deep in the forest, out passed the well. Inuyasha stopped in front of a mountain and noticed that the scent trails up. Inuyasha knew that they were almost 12 hours away, with his speed he could make it there in less than three, and Sesshomaru under 2. `Just what the hell us he doing out so far?' Inuyasha followed the trail up, and found Sesshomaru standing on top of the mountain. If you didn't know Sesshomaru you would think he was cloud gazing or something. The wind shifted and Sesshomaru caught scent of his brother standing not too far behind him.
“What is half demon?” Sesshomaru asked.
“I need to tell you something…serious.” Inuyasha said. Sesshomaru turned around and gave his brother an almost curious look.
“And what might that be?” Sesshomaru asked.
“Kagome is with child.” Inuyasha said, and Sesshomaru just stared. There was a long silence before Sesshomaru spoke.
“When did you find out?” Sesshomaru asked.
“Last night.”
“So in a while there will be either a human child or a hanyou pup running around here?” Sesshomaru asked.
“Well…yeah.”
“And you are certain?” Sesshomaru asked.
“I think I would know what I smell you bastard!” Inuyasha said in his defense. Sesshomaru did not comment. He just sat in silence. “So…what do we do?”
“How do you expect me to know such a thing?” Sesshomaru asked.
“Well I don't know! You know what to do when anything else happens!” Inuyasha said in frustration.
“Tell me half breed. Have I ever had a pup? How am I supposed to know how to deal with this?” Sesshomaru asked.
“You have Rin!” Inuyasha said.
“And you have Shippo.” Sesshomaru argued.
The two glared at each other, but didn't say a word. They were both lost and were struggling to think of a solution. They sat there for nearly thirty minutes when Inuyasha let out a frustrated sigh and sat down with his arms in his sleeves.
“How about we start with this.” Came a very female voice. Inuyasha jumped up and Sesshomaru looked very much annoyed. “Does Kagome know about the little one?” Sesshomaru looked at his brother and frowned. Inuyasha was ready to attack something, his hands resting on spot right above his Tessaiga.
“It is only Emi. Calm yourself.” Sesshomaru said.
“You talk as if I hold no threat.” Emi said as she appeared beside Sesshomaru. “Does Kagome know Inuyasha?”
“No…she doesn't.” Inuyasha said after he calmed down and was seated once again.
“I see. I think she should know, but not until others begin to sense the presence of a new person.” Emi said repeating what Inuyasha had thought of in the beginning.
“I know that, it was my plan in the beginning. But I…” He trailed off.
“We will think of that when the time comes.” Emi suggested. “We have got to stay focused.” Inuyasha frowned and sprang up. He had traveled all of that way only to end up where he was in the beginning…clueless. Inuyasha left the mountain in silence at top speed so he could speak with Miroku.
“You were looking for me. What is it?” Sesshomaru asked.
“I was going to say that we should head south. It has come to my attention that Lord Noriko has gone missing, and he won't be traveling with us again. He has had other plans for Kagome and I think we should exterminate him.” Emi said.
“And?” Sesshomaru knew that there was more to it.
“Well now we have this problem. We should still send somebody out to get rid of Noriko, but Kagome needs to be protected at all times, if anybody finds this out, then they will use it to their ability, that is why I think that we should head to my land and she will be protected there.” Sesshomaru nodded as Emi finished. The North was the best place to keep Kagome, the West fought too many wars, the East were mongrels who had no respect for the women and had very dangerous demons and bandits always looking for something to steal. The only respectful demon from the East was Lord Wakana, and the South was known for betrayal, hence Lord Noriko.
“Fine.” Sesshomaru said, and he and Emi headed back towards the others.

“So you are saying that Kagome is pregnant while we have to deal with Mouryoumaru and you don't know what to do, you didn't tell Kagome that she was pregnant, and you asked Sesshomaru of all people?” Miroku asked.
“Yes, no I didn't tell her, and yes! Now I know that the last one wasn't help at all, but yes!” Inuyasha said. He was clearly frustrated.
“You asked Sesshomaru! Sesshomaru!” Miroku said with amusement all on his face.
“Will you shut up about that and help me solve my problems?” Inuyasha asked about to rip Miroku's head off.
“Actually Inuyasha that is something that I can't help you with.” Miroku said.
“What do you mean you can't help me? You ask every woman you see to bear you children!” Inuyasha nearly screamed at the man.
“Correction. Every beautiful woman, and just because I ask doesn't mean I know how to take care of a child, or if I know how to deal with your situation. All I can tell you is to make sure she is safe at all times, and only leave her or have her fight if necessary.” Miroku said and Inuyasha growled. He had already known that. He was getting nowhere.
“What are so frustrated about?” Sango asked as she walked up from the forest with Kaede, Kagome, and Shippo behind her.
“Nothing serious Sango.” Inuyasha said and he knew that Kagome knew that it was something serious now. It was only a matter of time before she blew up on him.
“It sure doesn't sound like its nothing serious, maybe you should talk to everybody about if it affects us all.” Sango said.
“That will come later my dear Sango. Right now why don't I help you with that basket?” Miroku asked. Sango rolled her eyes but gave him the basket.
“Oh what a gentle man.” Sango said sarcastically and followed Miroku inside. Kagome went passed Inuyasha without a word and he sighed. Sesshomaru and Emi appeared out of the trees and followed the group inside. They were a bit surprised to find everybody in the hut, except for the wolves. It seems that they had stepped out for a bit.
“We will speak about where we will go from here when the wolves return.” Emi said.
“You should go ahead and speak, Prince Kouga says that they will not return for a couple of days and that if we leave then they will just follow our scent.” Wakana said. Emi nodded and turned to the group that happens to travel with them.
“Where did that Lord go? What was his name?” Bankotsu asked. Manami hit him on his shoulder saying something about disrespect.
“He no longer deserves our respect child.” Emi said. She received questioning stares from everyone except Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. Kagome gave her one filled with uncertainty. “He has betrayed us and is plotting against us as we speak.” Inuyasha growled and Bankotsu cursed.
“So we initially decided to head after Lord Noriko himself, but seeing as we don't know where Mouryoumaru is and we are positive that the most likely places would be somewhere East or South, there is a slight possibility that he went West, but North is not a place that Mouryoumaru has stepped foot in for centuries. He has had a bad experience up there, and that will be his last to destroy if he ever gets the chance.” Emi began to explain.
“So you are saying that we are heading North?” Suikotsu asked. Mistress Emi nodded, and Suikotsu had a feeling that they were not getting the whole truth, but he didn't push it.
“Yes North is our new direction until we could get a lead on where he may have been spotted. Besides we should protect Kagome as much as we could, she is a prime target, mainly because she holds great powers.” Mistress Emi said. Kagome looked stunned.
“Me?” Kagome asked and everybody nodded.
“Yes Kagome you have potential, and with a bit of training you would be outstanding.” Mistress Emi continued.
“Say what?” Kagome said.
“A little bit of training would be good for you; I have a feeling that you would need very, very soon.” Mistress Emi said as if Kagome had never spoken. At that moment Kagome had a feeling that she was missing out on a very large secret. Everybody nodded in agreement, but Miroku, Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, and Mistress Emi had a glint in their eyes as if they knew something that the others didn't. She didn't like that one bit.
“So when are we leaving?” Shippo asked.
“We will leave first thing tomorrow morning.” Sesshomaru said.
“I think we should take Kohaku and Kanna.” Sango said. Renkotsu looked at her as if she had gone nuts.
“Sango's right, if we leave them and Mouryoumaru got his hands on them, then they could be used to his advantage.” Kagome agreed. Mistress Emi and Manami nodded their agreement.
“Fine, get those two and we should bring along Rin as well. Hasn't she been staying here as well?” Mistress Emi said. Sesshomaru seemed to contemplate what she said. Then he gave her a look that only she understood and she nodded. “Tomorrow we leave, and starting tomorrow, Manami and Bankotsu are Kagome's bodyguards.
“What!” Kagome shouted. “I don't need bodyguards.”
“Were you not listening Miko? At the moment you are our biggest concern, you will need al around protection, because this Sesshomaru does not like to have weaknesses.” Sesshomaru said.
“I don't care wha-“ Kagome began.
“That's fine.” Inuyasha said, and everything went silent. Everybody in the hut stopped to look at Inuyasha with eyes full of wonder.
“Then it is settled. Tomorrow we head for the North.”
