Chapter 7: Fluffy Plans

“Hurry up!”

“Shut up! I'll be out in a minute!” Kagome stuffed the rest of their food in a bag, tossed it over her shoulder, and rushed out to a fuming hanyou.

“Why do you have to take so long!” InuYasha yelled.

“I was getting some food, stupid. Some of us have to eat you know!”

Whatever, wench…”

“Jerk!”

“Bitch!”

“I know I am, but you don't have to remind me,” she said with a smirk. He growled and stomped off.

“Izayoi!” Malana ran up with Shippo trailing close behind.

“What it is, Malana?”

“Sango wants to know if you'll go to the hot springs with her. She said there are some a day's walk away.”

“Tell her hai.”

“Okay!” They bounded off and Kagome giggled at how childish they really were.

“They have way too much energy,” she thought and stepped down into the grass. InuYasha's scent trailed off into the woods. She sighed and set her bag down on the porch. “I'd better go find him before he hurts anyone…” she mumbled as she walked through the dense forest. She stopped and closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath. The smell of the forest always calmed her. Not even InuYasha could spoil a moment like this. Make it better, maybe, but no ruin it. She could picture sitting peacefully in his arms in a meadow and taking in the few moments of peace in the wilderness. She shook her head and turned her thought back to the calming scents. A pair of warm arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her back.

“You were supposed to find me before I hurt someone… You're to slow…” they whispered against her hair. She smiled and turned around in his arms. It was who else… InuYasha. He bent down and rubbed his nose against hers with a soft growl.

“You did something, didn't you?” she asked pulling away.

“No. I'd never disobey you, Kags...” he said and pulled her into another hug. She huffed and pushed him away.

“We can't do this, InuYasha! Do you want me sent to hell!” she yelled balling her hands into fist and holding her arms tightly against her sides with a frown/glare on her face.

“Of course not!”

“Then please… Stop!” Tears began to sting her eyes and InuYasha set his hands on her shoulders.

“I'm sorry, Kagome…” She wiped the tears away and smiled up at him.

“You don't have anything to apologize for. I'm the one who's sorry. I'm just a bit moody today.” He raised an eye brow at her and smirked.

“Really…? I thought I was the moody one.” She playfully shoved him and started back out of the woods. He blinked and started after her.

“She's trying at least!”

“Trying isn't good enough!”

“I know, but give her a chance… She's new and was put in such a tough spot…” Kakumi said with a sigh. She flicked her fan open and fanned herself. Fate just glanced at her and went back to working on his loom. There were a few moments of awkward silence until the silk draped girl got up and stomped over to look over Fate's shoulder. “Where are they!” He grinned and pointed to silver and gold strands on silk.

“They end together right down here. The rest is a tangled mess. They most likely are going to go together. Or InuYasha go and she'll be sent to hell for eternity. If they don't shape up soon we're going to lose our new kagami. Unless they come up with a really good speech for Kami,” he said running his finger over other strands."We can't have little ones with powers from the kami's running around down there!”

“Not very optimistic, are you?” He just grumbled something under his breath and continued weaving. She scuffed one of his ears and stalked back to her seat.

“Lady Kakumi!” A small cat hanyou came running in holding a wriggling bag.

“What is it, Risuri?”

“Another devil servant found its way here!” the boy said and held it up. Kakumi took the bag and pulled out a small black ferret. It hissed and snapped at her. She smacked its snout with her fan and a muzzle instantly appeared to clamp its mouth shut.

“Take it to the infirmary. And be careful. It can still cast some nasty little spells and curses.”

“Hai, my lady!” Kakumi dropped it back into the bag and the boy hurried off.

“There have been more spies lately… Naraku's probably trying to find out about Kagome,” she mumbled taping her chin with her fingers.

“He must have by now. With all the rumors and gossip going around about how her beauty rivals yours. This place isn't much different then down in the living. Rumors and tales spread like wildfire,” Fate said and tossed a ball of something behind him. Kakumi smiled and nodded.

“I have to admit. She is very beautiful. Maybe even more then me!” She sighed and held a hand to her cheek. “And to have the great InuYasha madly in love with here… She has such luck!”

“Not really…” Fate grumbled and cursed as something snapped in his hands.

“What do you mean `not really'!” she demanded, waving her fan in the air.

“She has the beauty and the man, but they both make it unbelievably hard just to be near him.”

“You are right once again, Fate… How do you do it?

“I'm not a giddy little girl.”

“I'm not giddy!”

“Whatever you say, Kakumi…”

“This feels great…”

“Have you been in a natural hot spring before, Izayoi?” Izayoi and Sango sat in a hot spring talking. Izayoi nodded her head at Sango's question and lifted her feet out of the water.

“A long time ago though. I've almost forgotten what it feels like…”

“I guess so. Do you umm… Know how long you were gone? I mean you are an angel?”

“Kind of.”

“I hope Kagome's okay up there. She was the nicest person I knew. She was my best friend even if she did come from a different era…”

“I'm sure she's fine.” Sango smiled and slide deeper into the steaming water. Kagome's ears flicked over to the side and she let out a huff.

“What?”

“They're spying on us!”

“Why those hentais! They're dead!” the demon exterminator said starting to get up.

“Wait!” She stopped and looked over at Kagome.

“Wha-what?”

“I have an idea,” the hanyou said with a grin. Sango slide back into the water and mimicked her smile.

“What is it?”

“Did you have to hit me so hard, InuYasha?” Miroku asked as he gingerly rubbed the lump on his head with tears in his eyes.

“You think I'd let you any where near Izayoi! I know Sango can handle you. She has plenty of experience…” Miroku raised his eyebrows and grinned.

“I would never dare do anything to your precise mate, InuYasha!”

“What!”

THUMP!

Miroku received another lump from the blushing hanyou. Shippo snickered and received a hit too.

“Shut up! She ain't my mate!”

“Sure…” the kitsune said and jumped back as another fist came at him.

“Let him be, InuYasha. We already know the truth,” Miroku said.

“Wha-what are you talking about…?” he stuttered and looked away.

“Izayoi is Kagome's reincarnation. You don't have to hide your feelings anymore.”

“I don't know what you're talking about!”

“InuYasha!” They all looked up to see Malana running up in a panic. “Something's got Izayoi!”

“What! Where!”

“At the hot springs!” InuYasha jumped up and ran off before anyone could move. Malana looked at Miroku and giggled. “What happened to you?”

“He tried to sneak off and spy on Sango and Izayoi,” Shippo said.

“You mean you didn't spy on them?”

“To my displeasure, yes…” the monk said with a sigh.

“Uh-oh…!”

“What?”

“They're playing a trick on you and InuYasha!”

“Uh-oh is the right word then! InuYasha'll blow his top when he finds out,” Shippo said and shivered. “I hope he doesn't take it out on me…”

“We'd better go and find him fast!” Miroku said getting up. Malana nodded as Shippo climbed up on to her shoulder.

“I'll show you the way.” They went off in search of the hanyou before anything could set his temper off.
