Wait. She?

The First Clue

I nodded to Sesshomaru as I dredged up the stairs without a word. I was finally getting hit with the full brunt of what was really happening I guess…

‘I just can’t believe she’s lied to me all these years. Telling me she’s a guy, when she’s not!! How did I not sense it!?’

Inuyasha and three of his guy friends were walking down a dirt path through the woods.

“Man! Did you see Ayame today?” The wolf youkai boy asked unexpectedly.

“Yeah…why?” Inuyasha looked confused.

“She kept staring at me all day!” He growled and shook his head. “She keeps trying to ask me out or something…but EWW!!!” I so don’t want a girlfriend! Girl’s have cooties!!” The group of boys laughed, except for the little monk-in-training.

“Girls have cooties?” He stopped in his tracks and blinked repeatedly. “Why would you say such a thing!?” The wolf-boy rolled his eyes and shook his head. He honestly didn’t know why he tolerated the monk. But he was his best friend’s good friend.

“Not everyone’s as big a pervert as you are, Miroku!”

The violet-eyed boy, obviously named Miroku, feigned being appalled. “Why I-”

“Shut it, Houshi.” Inuyasha snapped as he shoved a low hanging branch out of his way.

They walked in silence for the rest of the way, weary of the hanyou’s temper. He’d been like this ever since he realized that he liked girls, and the girl he liked didn’t like the way of his showing his affection…A.K.A. Throwing rocks at her on the playground, putting gum in her hair, etc. You know all those childish things little boys do.

Three of the four boys began shedding their clothes as they entered a clearing. In the center of the clearing was a nice little swimming hole.

“Hey, Kags, why don’t you ever take your shirt or pants off when we swim?”

“Because, Kouga, I have fair skin. I burn easily!!” He pouted and began applying waterproof sunscreen to his arms and face.

Kouga rolled his eyes at him. “You don’t make any sense dude. You’re too much like a girl!” He snorted and suppressed a laugh as the bottle of sunscreen was angrily chucked at his head.

“It’s not my fault!! I live in a house full of chicks! Except for Souta…But he’s as doomed as I am!” He frowned and took a running dive into the water.

‘Thinking back to all those days we swam…He always had an excuse to not take his clothes off.’ I smacked my forehead and hit my head against the wall. ‘Damnit, I should have noticed!’

“You know, I always thought he was gay, but I never would have guessed that he was a she.”

“Damn, damn, damn!! How could I have been so stupid!?” A young girl around the age of 14 paced her room in frustration.

“What are you talking about?” Her sister poked her head in the room from the closet.

“Something horrible happened today…And I think Mom’s going to kill me when she finds out.”

“Do you want to talk about it?” The older sister stepped out of the closet in her pink silk pajamas and walked across the room to the girl.

“No.” She shook her head, causing her short spiky hair to sway a little. “But, Kikyou, thanks for offering.” She smiled at her sister and left the room.

“How odd…She’s never been this upset before…Not even when people tease her, saying she’s gay.”

You know what…I know I promised a much longer chapter, and this is short, even by my standards…But I don’t care. Well I do, but I don’t. I just don’t know what else to write. Therefore, I’ll be working on that, but in the meantime, review!
