The reason that she and Inu yasha were able to go so eaily through the well... It was so obvious when she sat down to think about it.
Tears cascaded down her cheeks like tiny rivers, falling on to pale skin.
On to his dead skin.
Now that she sat there, staring down at his face, stilled by death, and thought about all the times they had been together it became so clear. She gently pushed strains of bloody silver hair away from his face, staring deep into liveless golden eyes.
She wasn't in the past. Even with part of her soul held in Kikyou's body the older miko was technoically not alive so Kagome could move back and forth through time as she wanted.
It was so obvious now. The reason Inu yasha could move from the past to the future as easily as she could was so bliantly clear...
It was because... He wasn't there...
