My first real Fanfiction so keep that in mind, o.k. ^ ^ (I don't own Inuyasha, Inuyasha belongs to Rumiko Takahashi ^ ^)(Besides if I did own Inuyasha, it wouldn't of have such a crappy ending... )

'Urg...I think I packed too much', Kagome thought to herself. Inuyasha and Kagome had another fight with Inuyasha and his words still burned in her mind. "If I were with KIkyo right now, I would not only have the completed Jewel but I would have been made my wish..." 'Yeah if only he were with Kikyo...' Kagome's thoughts were interrupted when she reached the Bone-Eater's Well. 'It's now or never' and with that thought Kagome jumped in to the well, surrounded by the familiar blue light that would take her to the Feudal Era.

Kagome pulled her self over the edge of the well and set her pack on the ground. Sitting at the edge of the well Kagome notices the grey sky. 'Oh, I guess it's gonna rain soon. I better hurry and find Inuyasha so we can head for Kaede's.' After a few moments passed Kagome realized something was wrong. 'Why hasn't inuyasha come for me? He usually comes running when he smells me scent and the only reason he wouldn't come is if he was with...' Kagome mind trailed off for a moment before coming back to her. 'No...please, please don't let him be with her, please!', Kagome cried in her head. Kagome grabbed her bow and arrow began walking to the Sacred Tree. She stopped when she heard voices.

"Inuyasha...do you still love me? Is it still your desire to be with me? Or has that girl changed your mind?"

Kagome recognized that voice in an instant. It was the same voice that haunted her dreams and her mind constantly.

"Kikyo", Kagome whispered so soft that not even with Inuyasha's extreme hearing could hear.

"Kikyo, you know that I still love you", Inuyasha said in soft voice Kagome never heard before. "You are the only person I could ever love, don’t you understand? Kagome...she means nothing to me. What I feel for Kagome it's not love, please Kikyo look at me."

At those words Kagome felt her heart shatter. Nothing mattered anymore, nothing. Even though watching the two was painful Kagome couldn't run away not just yet.

"Oh, Inuyasha", Kikyo cried as she hugged Inuyasha.

"Kikyo..." Inuyasha whispered before pulling the dead miko into an intense, passionate kiss.

"No, Inuyasha..." Kagome could feel the tears that were about to fall. She held them back and ran as fast as she could. She wasn't headed for the Bone-Eater's Well, she was headed in the other direction but she couldn't care less. She had to get away from them, from him and all the pain he caused.

As Kagome approached a clearing, her legs finally gave in and she collapsed. Kagome then allowed the tears she were holding back to fall. As her tears fell, a crash of thunder could be heard and then the rain began to fall. "Just what I needed," Kagome murmured to her self.

'How, how could he do this to me? I gave him my heart and he just throws it aside like it's nothing. That's probably what he thinks of my love anyway, that it's nothing..." Kagome began to cry harder, just as it began to rain harder. 'Why do I care, why do I let him hurt me so much? This pain it's too much..." Then an idea hit Kagome. Kagome took one of the arrows out and held it in front of her chest. 'If I use this arrow then all the pain I feel will go away', Kagome thought to herself. Slowly Kagome brought the arrow closer and closer to her heart. "It's the only way..." Kagome whispered as she closed her tear filled eyes.

"My Lord? Where are you going at this time of the night?" questioned a very annoying toad demon.

"Jaken that is none of your concern", Sesshomaru answered in a very stern and annoyed voice, that made Jaken flinch.

"Y-yes My Lord. S-sorry my Lord" Jaken stammered. He was too afraid to say anything else so he began to walk in the direction that Rin was at.

"Feh" Sesshomaru replied as he ran towards the wood.

'That scent. There's no mistaking it. It's the scent of my half-breed brother's wench' Sesshomaru growled in his head.

‘But there’s something different about her scent....' Sesshomaru continued to run in the direction of the scent.

Then with a crash of thunder, it began to rain. 'Damn!' Sesshomaru cursed himself. Now he'd have to hurry before the rain completely washed away the scent. As Sesshomaru approached a clearing he stopped. 'It's her! But wait were is Inuyasha? I thought he was always protective of his wench.' Sesshomaru thought to himself. Then he eyed her curiously as she took out an arrow and brought it in front her chest. 'What it she doing?' Sesshomaru questioned. He noticed that she whispered something and if it weren't for his sensitive hearing he would not have caught what she said. "It's the only way...'' Sesshomaru's body was then filled with anger as he watched her close her eyes and ready the arrow to pierce her heart. As the dagger was ready to plunge into her heart Sesshomaru quickly got up at grabbed her wrist.

" Wha...Sesshomaru!" Kagome cried. She was both shocked and confused to see Lord Sesshomaru stopped her from killing herself. But the shock quickly wore off and her body began to fill with rage.

"WHY DID YOU STOP ME!!!" Kagome yelled getting off the ground.

Angry, Sesshomaru, gripped her wrist so hard she dropped the arrow before simply saying "Tell me wench, do you really want to die so badly that you are willing to take your own life?"

These words surprised Kagome and knocked the anger out of her and she fell to the ground and began to sob.

".....no....." Kagome whispered and began to sob even harder than before.

Sesshomaru eyed Kagome curiously. 'She's crying?' He continued to watch her and notice a strange feeling taking over his body. What is this strange feeling I have? Sympathy? Why do I care about Inuyasha's wench of all people?' Sesshomaru questioned himself. Kagome was still on the floor sobbing and Sesshomaru was getting annoyed with all the tears already.

"Enough! Sesshomaru growled. "Your pathetic human emotions wear my patience thin."

As if obeying his command Kagome stopped crying.

"Why?" Kagome almost whispered “Why did you stop me from taking my life? Why do you even care about me?”

'That is a good question. Why did I save her?' Sesshomaru thought before looking directly into Kagome's eyes. 'Her eyes, they remind me of Rin's.'

"You’re wrong." Sesshomaru stated simply. "I do not care about you"

"...so why stop me?" Kagome was still whispering.

"My actions are none of your concern", Sesshomaru stated. Sesshomaru eyed Kagome carefully before asking, "What has driven you to the point that you would consider taking your life? Does my ungrateful half-breed of a brother?"

"That's none of you business!" Kagome yelled her anger returning.

"Wench do not try my patience." Sesshomaru warned.

"Go a head and kill me! It's what I want after all...." Kagome whispered the last part but knew Sesshomaru could hear her.

'How dare she talk to me in such a manner' "Wench you will watch your tone when addressing me."

"Kagome."

"What?"

"My name, its Kagome not wench or miko or anything else you can think of."

"Why you-" Sesshomaru stopped mid-sentence. "How my half-breed brother ever put up with you is incredible." Sesshomaru said as he walked away from Kagome.

He then stopped and turned his attention back to Kagome when began to smell tears again. His anger began to disappear and was replaced with a feeling new to him.

"So it is Inuyasha that has upset you?" his voice was softer then normal but still held its normal emotionless tone.

"You could say that." Kagome replied. "He doesn't love me.... I guess he never loved me"

'Why am I telling him all this? He just told me he doesn't care about me.' Kagome chuckled to herself.

"Well then my brother is a fool." Sesshomaru stated.

"Wha-what?" Kagome asked taken by surprise by his last statement.

"You heard me. My brother chooses the love of one of the dead and throw away the love of one of the living...what a fool he is. My little brother isn't worth your tears and he is not worth your life."

Kagome just stared at Sesshomaru, wide-eyed. 'Is he really saying this to me?' Unable to speak, Sesshomaru continued.

"Tell me girl if being with my brother causes you such pain, why stay with him?" Sesshomaru wanting to understand why this girl was so fond of his brother.

"Because..." was all Kagome said before continuing, "...I love him..."Kagome whispered so low that Sesshomaru almost didn't hear what she said. Sesshomaru just nodded his head in understanding before singling for her to continue.

"H-he's always there, saving and protecting me. He's been through so much, no body every cared for him...he was all alone, abandoned and then he lost the only people to ever care about him, that's why I wanted to get close to him. To heal his broken heart no matter what the cost and bring him happiness..."

"Even if the cost is your own heart, your own happiness." Sesshomaru questioned in such a cool manner it made Kagome shiver.

"I-i never really thought about it...." Kagome laughed bitterly to herself before saying "Maybe...maybe your right, it's not as if he loves me or anything..." Kagome's eyes were covered by her bangs, to hide any emotion. He almost felt sorry for her. The key word here is 'almost'.

"My brother he's not worth your breath or your pain."

'He's right...I know he is but I....' Kagome was brought from her thoughts when she heard Sesshomaru growl.

"S-esshomaru-sama?"

"He's coming..."

Kagome didn't need to ask who was coming because she already knew. 'No! I can't...I can't go back to him...'

By the look on her face, Sesshomaru knew she didn't want to see his brother. He didn't need to ask to know this time his brother really screwed up.

"If you do not wish to see my brother, you are welcome to follow me."

"What!" Kagome could hardly believe the words that just came out of his mouth.

"Y-you want me to go with you? But why? Won't I just be a burden?" Kagome's head dropped at her last statement.

"You can become Rin's teacher. Rin's growing and she needs another female around."

Kagome just stared at him. 'Is this all for real?'

"My brother is coming closer, You don't have any more time to think about this."

"KAGOME!!!!" Inuyasha was now in view and was coming towards them fast.

Without thinking for another second Kagome said "Come on. Let's go."

Sesshomaru smirked at her answer. 'I knew she would come.' Sesshomaru picked Kagome up and stared into her eyes. 'What effect is this girl having on me?'

Without wasting anymore time Sesshomaru carried her in off and flew to where Jaken and Rin were waiting for his return. As Sesshomaru carried her off Kagome nuzzled her head in his chest to make herself more comfortable. Sesshomaru noticed this and only smirked in response.

By the time Inuyasha made it to where they were, they already left.

"Kagome...but why?" Inuyasha just stood there watched as his brother carried his Kagome away.

Sesshomaru and Kagome arrived at his castle.

"Welcome to your new home Kagome."

'This is it, a new beginning.' Kagome thought as Sesshomaru let her into the castle to begin her new life.
