“Kagome, I think there's something you should know about InuYasha Tategami…”

 

Kagome's eyes traveled slowly from Sesshomaru's gun to his burning, greedy eyes. Why the hell was everyone going all high security? More importantly… what were they talking about?

 

“Should you tell her InuYasha? Or will I have the pleasure of revealing the scum you really are?” The man asked slyly.

 

InuYasha only glared at Sesshomaru, his grip around Kagome's waist tightening, knowing that he had avoided the inevitable far too long… and that pretty soon, he would lose her again.

 

“Yash… what's he talking about?” Kagome replied innocently, her eyes sweeping the handsome man's nervous yet stern expression.

 

“InuYasha is with Crush Kagome… “Sesshomaru began gleefully, proud of himself for revealing such precious information.

 

Kagome shook her head as though she didn't understand… “What?”

 

“Crush is an organization like Heart Breakers League… only its agents are male, they specialize in exposing the women of this city that cheat on their husbands and boyfriends.”

 

“I know that dammit! What's it got to do with Yash!?”

 

“He's an agent there Kagome…” Sesshomaru smiled. “In fact… he's their best.”

 

Kagome turned quickly to InuYasha and gazed up at him with sad, pleading eyes. “That can't be true, I have no one to cheat on… why would he be spying on me? InuYasha, tell Sessh that's not true…”

 

InuYasha swallowed hard and turned his head away, staring down at the steaming asphalt. “Kagome… I was hired by Crush when I was seventeen… and I've been working there since then. Most of the men I work with are over thirty and are either married or soon to be and for the longest time, somebody had been tearing those relationships apart. They would come into work, crying like babies… every single one of them with the same story… their wives had been told that they were caught cheating by the devil agent…”

 

Kagome's eyes widened. “Me… but I never had a mission to spy on another league's agent?”

 

“That's because the wives didn't know they were agents. Remember Ichijiku? He was the last one you trashed before my boss had a fit… and I was sent in to find out who you were… since he had gotten a good glimpse of you, it wasn't too hard to locate you. All I had to do was get Kikyo to think that I was cheating and then you'd be in the palm of my hand. Kag… while Crush's agents waited for their targets to show up… you were spying on them… and basically… you got to them first.”

 

“What do you mean?”

 

“They thought you were the mission… that's why they flirted and shit.”

 

“Didn't they ever hear of photographs?” Rin scoffed, she could feel herself growing cold hearted to this enemy agent.

 

“Not a lot of our clients' give us pictures… and the agents that didn't have em went after Kagome, thinking she was the mission.

 

Sango rolled her eyes. “Men, always doing things half-ass!”

 

Kagome slowly pulled away from InuYasha's hold and backed away. “Yash… what were supposed to do once you found me?”

 

The man began fidgeting with his fingers and licked his lips. “I was supposed to get close to you… learn about the agency you worked for… and when that was done… I… I had to eliminate you.”

 

She closed her watery eyes her voice quivering. “You were supposed to kill me?”

 

“To prevent anymore intrusions, yes!” InuYasha reached out for her again, needing to embrace her tightly. “But… I just couldn't do it… I fell in love with you.”

 

“Shut up!” Kagome screamed, punching his chest and pushing away… she felt like she was going to be sick… she had the sudden need to shoot something. “I can't believe you've been lying to me! This entire fucking time! What's wrong with you!? You were supposed to kill me you bastard!”

 

“Kagome, I said I love you! That's why I couldn't do it!”

 

“Before or after you completed the task of getting close to me!?”She screamed again, running her fingers through her raven black locks. “You lied to me… I… I can't trust you…”

 

“Kagome! I fucking gave you my heart! What the hell does me being another agent have to do with anything!? I'm still InuYasha dammit! I still love you! I still want you!” InuYasha shouted back, gripping her shoulders forcefully… searching her eyes for forgiveness.

 

“I don't know you…” Kagome whispered.

 

InuYasha shook his head and released the woman's shoulders, holding up his hands in defeat. “Fine, I get it… you won't see me ever again then. You fucking bitches can all burn in hell! And Sesshomaru…” He glared daggers into the man that ruined his life. “I swear you have no idea how this is going to affect you or your agents!”

 

Kagome stared silently at InuYasha as he stormed angrily away, finding herself in tears again. “I'm so sorry…”

 

“Oh and just for the record!” InuYasha shouted, continuing to walk on. “Miroku, Koga and Shippo are agents too! Have fun with that one asshats!”

 

“Let's call it a day girls.” Sesshomaru cleared his throat finally, nodding over to the white van parallel parked on the curb. “Sango, Rin… Ayame… let's go.”

 

“No.” The three women glared.

 

“What?” Sesshomaru asked, sounding intimidating… staring them all in the face.

 

“Sesshomaru, I suggest you get your ass back to headquarters… because right now I am in no mood to deal with you.” Sango growled crossly.

 

“Are you telling me what to do?”

 

“Damn right we are!” Rin shouted, surprising the man. “What is the matter with you!? You… you just can't leave well enough alone can you!? You're so stuffy and cold hearted that you don't even see what the fuck you just ruined!”

 

Ayame held her sobbing friend back. “All you care about is making sure you've still got a job!”

 

The man cleared his throat again, turning on his heel and leaving the dramatic scene. “I'll see you all back at headquarters tomorrow morning… have a nice evening ladies…”

 

Rin screamed, ready to pull her hair out.“IS THAT THE BEST YOU CAN SAY YOU STUPID BASTARD!?GET BACK HERE! I'M GONNA KICK YOUR ASS!”

 

“Rin let it go…” Sango pleaded, holding her friend.

 

“No! He hurt Kagome! I don't care how I feel about that man! He's going to pay!”

 

“Rin… please…” Kagome smiled softly. “I think we all just need to go home… I need to think about everything… I… I just need to see my boys…”

 

The woman turned stiffly, heading to Kagome's black vehicle and sitting on the hood. Sango walked over to her best friend hugging her warmly, things had gone from bad to worse in a mere three days… and she felt powerless to do anything about it.

 

Kagome shivered, feeling the cold winter breeze brush against her waterlogged features. “Sango… I can't believe this… the moment I got him back… everything twisted again… it's as though…”

 

Sango crushed her eyes shut and pulled her friend closer, knowing the cold words that would drip from Kagome's lips.

 

“Things weren't meant to be…”

 

“No honey that's not true…” Ayame smiled, “InuYasha just had certain flaws… along with Miroku… and Koga…” Her voice dropped, realizing that her boyfriend had lied to her too… but then again… so did she. “Kagome everybody has dirty little secrets…”

 

Kagome whimpered, clinging desperately to Sango's jacket. `But… InuYasha's beat everybody else's'.'
