"Do you really have to go Sei-san?" Looking down he smiled at Rin and said, "Yeah, I have another life but don't worry I'll see you in about a month, okay?" Smiling the girl held out her hand and said, "Promise?" Sei took her hand and shook it twice and said, "You have my word Rin. Besides Lord Sesshomaru is going somewhere even more dangerous than normal so as part of my debt to him I have to watch you when he journey's to places that he knows you'll be in extreme risk." At those words Rin pouted and said, "Well he dragged me everywhere when he was fighting Naraku so why can't I go with him on this new journey?" Chuckling Sei did something she hated and ruffled her hair and made her pout turn into a scowl before laughingly saying, "Well, he's going to a place where extremely dangerous demons are a meeting and they want to hurt either you or me so he thinks it's safer if we're as far away from him while he goes."
Scratching her head Rin said, "That doesn't make sense because what if they came after us while we're with Kagome?" Before he could answer Sei looked behind her and said, "Lord Sesshomaru." Turning Rin bowed and said, "My lord I meant no disrespect I was just curious." But her expected scolding didn't come as the Taisho said, "I've taken that into consideration Rin so don't worry about your safety and trust my judgement." Rin bowed again and said, "I'm sorry Lord Sesshomaru." Acknowledging her apology Sesshomaru turned to Sei and said, "My brother is close so hurry it up. I don't want to deal with his ignorance this morning." Sei nodded and said, "I'm already packed my lord." Looking at the strange pack Sesshomaru nodded and said, "Good, now get out there and meet him." Sei bowed a bit and left the room with Rin following closely behind him as Sesshomaru watched how the young girl had become taken with the human as if he were a member of her family. I see that I made a correct choice in choosing him as a new guardian for her, was what passed through his head before he took another exit to the courtyard where his brother was waiting.
As he walked with Rin, Sei could feel the eyes of the demon on watching him and he did his best to ignore the piercing gaze of his friends brother as he listened to Rin talk non stop about something she had planned when he next visited but he wasn't paying attention so he asked, "I'm sorry Rin. What did you say?" The teen glared at him and said, "I said I'm gonna show Shippou how much I like him when I come to the village next time." Nodding Sei shifted his bag and said, "Hmmm I can't say that he's going to be the most receptive but I'm sure he'll at least figure out that you like him." Rin blushed and pulled out a small wrapped item and said, "Can you give this to him?" Taking the small package Sei puilled his bag to his front and wrapped it in some clothes and gave her the thumbs up and Rin returned the gesture.
When they reached the courtyard Sei saw Inuyasha and Sesshomaru having a conversation and although it looked peaceful he could see that Inuyasha was doing his best to keep his anger in check while Sesshomaru spoke. He was about to shout at the hanyou when he saw a slight tweak to his friends ears and his nose twitch and turn in the direction of Sei and Rin with an agitated look that screamed, "Get the hell over here before I kill you." Grinning Sei bent down a bit and gave Rin a quick hug before walking up to the trio of demons and set his bag on Kirara before saying, "Sesshomaru-sama thank you for your hospitality and I will be glad to take care of Rin when you are at the council."
Inclining his head Sesshomaru said, "It won't be long as it's not far from this baka's village and should take no more than 3 days, one for the council and two for travelling." Nodding Sei turned to his friend and said, "Let's get out of here." Snorting Inuyasha said, "That's gotta be one of the smartest things you've ever said." before climbing on the back of the giant fire cat and saying, "Back home Kirara." The cat let out a loud roar and they took to the sky with Rin waving at them from the ground. Sei smiled down and waved back before clutching Inuyasha out of reflex since Kirara had decided to take a sharp turn and almost threw him from her back.
Inuyasha felt a bit uncomfortable as his friend clutched his waist and said nothing for a good 3 hours before Sei asked, "Everything okay on the other side?" Looking over his shoulder Inuyasha said, "Fine, except that Kagome forced me to take her to your place and help clean it up while you were gone. And your step-mother and your dad are getting a bit worried." Laughing Sei said, "Well thanks for cleaning up my place I promise I'll make it up to you and Kagome." Looking to his friend Inuyasha said, "Well you can make us steak one night and never grab onto my waist like that ever again." Blushing Sei said, "Yeah sorry about that it's just that Kirara caught me off guard when leaving Lor...I mean Sesshomarus castle."
Laughing Inuyasha said, "I can't believe you're calling him that. What the hell did he do to you?" Sei knocked Inuyasha in his head and said, "It was either call him that or get my head cut off so which would you do?" Scoffing Inuyasha said, "I'd die before I gave up my pride like that." Fuming at his friends teasing Sei said, "Ya know I can jump from here right now and have Kagome hate you forever." At the sound of his friend threatening suicide Inuyasha said, "Don't Sei. I actually don't know what I would do in that situation but you've actually got more pride than me to actually sacrifice a bit of it to call someone lord without even respecting them." Punching the hanyou again Sei said, "Actually I do respect him. I actually learned alot while I was in his house and he was quite kind to me save for this one night where I disrespected him and he threatened me."
Perking his ears Inuyasha quietly asked, "What'd he do to you?" Chuckling Sei said, "Nothing just that he'd do to me what you're a bit uncomfortable knowing about me." Scratching his head Inuyasha asked, "What the hell are you talking about?" But his question was soon answered as Sei did one of those uncomfortable touches that most straight guys hate getting. At the feeling of his friends hand touching his shoulder Inuyasha nearly fell off while he shouted, "Get the hell off of me!!" before stopping and saying, "Wait a minute do you mean that Sesshomarus like you?" Laughing Sei said, "I have no clue Inuyasha it was probably just out of anger at my actions but Rin seems to think so."
Scoffing Inuyasha remained silent for the rest of the flight and only spoke to wake Sei awake from his light doze and said, "We're almost there Sei." Opening his eyes a bit Sei saw that the sun was now down and stretched before saying, "Damn have we even stopped?" Shaking his head Inuyasha said, "No, I tried to get Kirara to stop but she just kept going, huh Kirara?" The cat let out a light growl of agreement and sped up a bit for a moment and landed outside of Kaedes hut and allowed Inuyasha and Sei to climb down before turning into her smaller self and bounding into the house.
Sei bounced up and down, stretching his legs and popped all his joints back into place before Shippou bounded out and said, "Hi guys! Kagome's waiting for you on the other side Sei." Smiling at the fox Sei said, "You're way too big Shippou." The kitsune smirked and waved his tail from his position on the ground and said, "Yeah well you didn't expect me to stay small forever did you?" Chuckling Sei said, "Yeah well just don't become as tall as me when you sit okay?" Standing up to his full height and looking up at him Shippou said, "I may only be to your chest but I can still kick your butt!" Laughing Inuyasha said, "He's got a point he's a full demon and getting quite good so watch it Sei."
Ruffling the foxes hair Sei opened his bag and pulled out the small package and tossed it to the kitsune saying, "A present from a raven haired girl under the protection of a demon." Tossing the small package around before letting it land in his hands Shippou sniffed it and blushed before saying, "Thanks, Sei. I'll see you later." and bounded off in the direction of the forest. Chuckling Sei looked in on the hut and saw Miroku and Sango eating some fish, but the two stopped and waved at him and said together, "Glad to see you're feeling better." Not bothering to sit Sei said, "Well thanks for lending us Kirara, but you might want to let her rest for awhile she wouldn't stop." The cat demon let out a weak nosie from her owners lap forcing Sango to rub her back and say, "Well I'll have Miroku take you to the well since I'm not exactly in the appropriate condition for such a journey and Inuyasas probably wanting to sleep a bit too." But that comment caused the hanyou to shout from outside, "I'm taking him through the well so don't even think I'm weak like you!"
The three in the house all laughed at Inuyashas typical tough guy attitude and Sei bowed to his friends before heading outside and asking, "I take it you want to leave now?" Snorting Inuyasha said, "Of course I want to leave because if I don't bring you back I'm gonna get sat!" Holding his amusement in Sei tilted his head and said, "All right you know the way so let's do it." Lifting an eyebrow Inuyasha asked, "What's that supposed to mean?" Rolling his eyes Sei said, "It means get me to the well so I can get my ass home!!!" Cowering a bit at his friends sudden mood change Inuyasha said, "Okay, damn you're almost as bad as Kagome." Smirking Sei followed the hanyou into the woods feeling proud that he was able to bend the mighty half demon to his will by taking on his friends attitude.
Sei was feeling a bit nervous about travelling in the woods since the last time he'd decided to enter the woods he'd been chased by a giant boar demon and knocked unconcious and forced into a life debt with one of the most powerful demons alive in this era. Yet he did feel quite calm since the forest was considered Inuyashas territory and most demons were too afraid to even challenge the half breed that had dealt the final blow to the demon Naraku. But that still didn't mean Sei was feeling too confident about passing through the woods.
Infact Seis misgivings were confirmed when out of nowhere a voice shouted, "So you've been reduced to being the bodyguard for humans mutt-breath?" Looking around Sei saw a young man sitting in a tree with a sword at his side and wearing wolf hides. By the look of their guest Sei could only figure that it was non other than Inuyashas rival Kouga, and knowing of the past that the two shared Sei was about ready to run when Inuyasha asked, "Don't you have a mate to go and worry about wolf?" Chuckling Kouga hopped down and said, "I've my reasons for being here. Ayame is expecting soon and I had to come here for some of that old crones remedies." Glaring at the wolf Inuyasha asked, "How long she got?" Scratching his chin the wolf said, "Couple of weeks at the most but I can't bring her here so I may as well do what I can." Nodding Inuyasha said, "Kagome isn't even ready for that since she has her schooling to worry about but once that's done we're to be wed."
Scoffing Kouga said, "Yeah well if you do anything..." but he was cut off by his nose catching a Seis scent and asked, "Why the hell does this bastard reek of your brother?" Chuckling Inuyasha said, "He was chased by a boar and ended up spending the better part of the past month in the service of Sesshomaru and is now in a life debt to him." Kouga walked up and sniffed Sei deeply and said, "Poor bastard, I hope you end up fulfilling this debt human." Backing up Sei got into a somewhat defensive posture and said, "I can handle myself. So if you have nothing better to do I suggest you worry about your mate rather than worrying about what is going on between me and his brother." Chuckling Kouga looked at Inuyasha and said, "He's got a point. Send word of when you and Kagome will be married and me and Ayame will attend." and then looking at Sei he snorted before disappearing in a cloud of dust.
Turning to Inuyasha Sei stomped past him and said, "Let's get the hell out of here." Expecting a smartass reply from his friend Sei was surprised that Inuyasha said nothing and they headed towards the clearing that held the well that connected the two ages together. Not wasting anytime Sei jumped into the well and was glad that the blue light enveloped him and soon his ears were filled with the sounds of cars and a ladder infront of him, but before he could climb up the light appeared again and Inuyasha stood next to him and said, "Oh by the way your dad sent one of those car things to take you to your apartment." Letting out a loud scoff Sei said, "Thanks alot for giving me the heads up Inuyasha."
But the hanyou just smiled and jumped out of the well leaving Sei to climb up the well to find Buyo sitting on the edge of the well looking at him with a look saying, "I'm hungry." Sei shoved the cat off the side of the well and climbed out before picking the cat up and giving him a piece of dried meat that Kagome had given him for the trip home. The cat took the food happily and began purring happily in his arms as he approached the Higurashi home. Setting Buyo down he walked in and opened the door to hear some laughter coming from the dining room. Walking in he saw Michelle sitting at the table with a cup of tea in her hands and Asami laughing with her and Kagome refilling their glasses while giggling a bit herself.
Knocking on the wall Sei said, "Am I interrupting?" Looking up the women set their glasses Michelle got up and walked towards him said, "Sei, thank god you're all right." Hugging his fathers girlfriend Sei said, "Sorry to worry you two I wasn't expecting to be gone this long." Chuckling Michelle said, "It's okay, but I need to talk to you on the ride to your place okay?" Nodding Sei said, "Uhhh sure, but can I just say goodbye to these two?" Nodding the woman turned and bowed before saying, "Asami, Kagome it's a pleasure as usual and I hope you guys will come over for dinner or invite us over sometime soon." Bowing Asami said, "You're always welcome here Michelle. I mean Sei is like another son to me so his family is ours."
Waving goodbye Michelle headed outside while Sei sat down at the table and sighed loudly and said, "I'm sorry for that you two. I didn't mean for this to happen." Ruffling his hair Asami said, "Don't worry Sei, Inuyasha more than made up for it while you were gone. And Kagome made sure that he cleaned up your place while you were gone." Laughing Sei said, "Yeah, he told me about all that. Thanks Kagome." Waving her hand Kagome said, "Don't worry about it. You're my best friend and I know you'd do it for me if that sort of situation occured." Nodding Sei said, "You're right I would do it for you but now I have to go and get drilled by Michelle. Tell Souta I said hello."
Receiving a couple of hugs and a rub from Buyo, Sei grabbed his bag and headed out to the car and hopped in before the chaufer could get out and open the door. Chuckling he said, "Sorry, I'm just a bit anxious to get home." The driver shrugged it off and said, "Of course, sir. Traffics light so we should be there in ten minutes or so." Before he could say anything Michelle said, "Thank you, Charles. I'm going to roll up the window now he and I need to discuss something." The driver said nothing as his step mother let the window roll all the way up before saying, "So did everything go okay?" Looking out the window Sei said, "Yes, my friends doing fine and should be fine in a few days."
He noticed that she said nothing as he spoke and waited for her to say something but nothing came from her mouth so he said, "Is father doing okay? I mean since I didn't come to dinner that one night and didn't call you guys." Chuckling she said, "He was worried Sei. He felt that he did something to make you do that instead of meeting us." Scoffing Sei said, "I'll call him tomorrow and explain. He's been a great dad with the hands he's been dealt in his life " He could see that her face fell a little as he said this and feeling guilty Sei said, "I didn't mean that you've done anything to him." She shook her head and said, "It's not that Sei but I'm wondering when you plan on telling him."
Sighing Sei said, "Soon, but you know why I can't, Michelle. My dad's high profile and if I did that and it leaked out it'll be all over the place and who knows what the rest of the family will do." He looked to the woman and saw that she was smiling and said, "You are a good man, Sei and I don't think your father will care. He'd just be mad because I knew before he did and he'll feel like he isn't a worthy dad." Snorting Sei said, "He really needs to stop putting himself down. But don't worry I'll tell him. I just want to make sure that I'm with somebody before I actually break the news so he doesn't try and hook me up with somebody." He could hear the womans giggles being choked down and he said, "But I think I may have found someone while I was gone." Looking up she asked, "Really? Is he cute?" Blushing Sei said, "He's good looking, but he's not exactly a people person and besides I'm not even sure he's gay."
Thinking that she'd discourage him Sei was surprised when she said, "Well I think he's just unsure or he's like you and just hasn't found someone." Feeling a bit more certain with what he thought about Sesshomaru, Sei was glad that the car stopped in his parking lot and gave Michelle a quick hug before getting out and waving goodbye before he went into his house and locked the door before stumbling into his room and falling into a death like sleep. But while Sei slept Sesshomaru was awake in his study while thoughts of a certain human and the upcoming council filled his mind.

By the look of their guest Sei could only figure that it was non other than Inuyashas rival Kouga, and knowing of the past that the two shared Sei was about ready to run when Inuyasha asked, "Don't you have a mate to go and worry about wolf?" Chuckling Kouga hopped down and said, "I've my reasons for being here. Ayame is expecting soon and I had to come here for some of that old crones remedies." Glaring at the wolf Inuyasha asked, "How long she got?" Scratching his chin the wolf said, "Couple of weeks at the most but I can't bring her here so I may as well do what I can." Nodding Inuyasha said, "Kagome isn't even ready for that since she has her schooling to worry about but once that's done we're to be wed."
Scoffing Kouga said, "Yeah well if you do anything..." but he was cut off by his nose catching a Seis scent and asked, "Why the hell does this bastard reek of your brother?" Chuckling Inuyasha said, "He was chased by a boar and ended up spending the better part of the past month in the service of Sesshomaru and is now in a life debt to him." Kouga walked up and sniffed Sei deeply and said, "Poor bastard, I hope you end up fulfilling this debt human." Backing up Sei got into a somewhat defensive posture and said, "I can handle myself. So if you have nothing better to do I suggest you worry about your mate rather than worrying about what is going on between me and his brother." Chuckling Kouga looked at Inuyasha and said, "He's got a point. Send word of when you and Kagome will be married and me and Ayame will attend." and then looking at Sei he snorted before disappearing in a cloud of dust.
Turning to Inuyasha Sei stomped past him and said, "Let's get the hell out of here." Expecting a smartass reply from his friend Sei was surprised that Inuyasha said nothing and they headed towards the clearing that held the well that connected the two ages together. Not wasting anytime Sei jumped into the well and was glad that the blue light enveloped him and soon his ears were filled with the sounds of cars and a ladder infront of him, but before he could climb up the light appeared again and Inuyasha stood next to him and said, "Oh by the way your dad sent one of those car things to take you to your apartment." Letting out a loud scoff Sei said, "Thanks alot for giving me the heads up Inuyasha."
But the hanyou just smiled and jumped out of the well leaving Sei to climb up the well to find Buyo sitting on the edge of the well looking at him with a look saying, "I'm hungry." Sei shoved the cat off the side of the well and climbed out before picking the cat up and giving him a piece of dried meat that Kagome had given him for the trip home. The cat took the food happily and began purring happily in his arms as he approached the Higurashi home. Setting Buyo down he walked in and opened the door to hear some laughter coming from the dining room. Walking in he saw Michelle sitting at the table with a cup of tea in her hands and Asami laughing with her and Kagome refilling their glasses while giggling a bit herself.
Knocking on the wall Sei said, "Am I interrupting?" Looking up the women set their glasses Michelle got up and walked towards him said, "Sei, thank god you're all right." Hugging his fathers girlfriend Sei said, "Sorry to worry you two I wasn't expecting to be gone this long." Chuckling Michelle said, "It's okay, but I need to talk to you on the ride to your place okay?" Nodding Sei said, "Uhhh sure, but can I just say goodbye to these two?" Nodding the woman turned and bowed before saying, "Asami, Kagome it's a pleasure as usual and I hope you guys will come over for dinner or invite us over sometime soon." Bowing Asami said, "You're always welcome here Michelle. I mean Sei is like another son to me so his family is ours."
Waving goodbye Michelle headed outside while Sei sat down at the table and sighed loudly and said, "I'm sorry for that you two. I didn't mean for this to happen." Ruffling his hair Asami said, "Don't worry Sei, Inuyasha more than made up for it while you were gone. And Kagome made sure that he cleaned up your place while you were gone." Laughing Sei said, "Yeah, he told me about all that. Thanks Kagome." Waving her hand Kagome said, "Don't worry about it. You're my best friend and I know you'd do it for me if that sort of situation occured." Nodding Sei said, "You're right I would do it for you but now I have to go and get drilled by Michelle. Tell Souta I said hello."
Receiving a couple of hugs and a rub from Buyo, Sei grabbed his bag and headed out to the car and hopped in before the chaufer could get out and open the door. Chuckling he said, "Sorry, I'm just a bit anxious to get home." The driver shrugged it off and said, "Of course, sir. Traffics light so we should be there in ten minutes or so." Before he could say anything Michelle said, "Thank you, Charles. I'm going to roll up the window now he and I need to discuss something." The driver said nothing as his step mother let the window roll all the way up before saying, "So did everything go okay?" Looking out the window Sei said, "Yes, my friends doing fine and should be fine in a few days."
He noticed that she said nothing as he spoke and waited for her to say something but nothing came from her mouth so he said, "Is father doing okay? I mean since I didn't come to dinner that one night and didn't call you guys." Chuckling she said, "He was worried Sei. He felt that he did something to make you do that instead of meeting us." Scoffing Sei said, "I'll call him tomorrow and explain. He's been a great dad with the hands he's been dealt in his life " He could see that her face fell a little as he said this and feeling guilty Sei said, "I didn't mean that you've done anything to him." She shook her head and said, "It's not that Sei but I'm wondering when you plan on telling him."
Sighing Sei said, "Soon, but you know why I can't, Michelle. My dad's high profile and if I did that and it leaked out it'll be all over the place and who knows what the rest of the family will do." He looked to the woman and saw that she was smiling and said, "You are a good man, Sei and I don't think your father will care. He'd just be mad because I knew before he did and he'll feel like he isn't a worthy dad." Snorting Sei said, "He really needs to stop putting himself down. But don't worry I'll tell him. I just want to make sure that I'm with somebody before I actually break the news so he doesn't try and hook me up with somebody." He could hear the womans giggles being choked down and he said, "But I think I may have found someone while I was gone." Looking up she asked, "Really? Is he cute?" Blushing Sei said, "He's good looking, but he's not exactly a people person and besides I'm not even sure he's gay."
Thinking that she'd discourage him Sei was surprised when she said, "Well I think he's just unsure or he's like you and just hasn't found someone." Feeling a bit more certain with what he thought about Sesshomaru, Sei was glad that the car stopped in his parking lot and gave Michelle a quick hug before getting out and waving goodbye before he went into his house and locked the door before stumbling into his room and falling into a death like sleep. But while Sei slept Sesshomaru was awake in his study while thoughts of a certain human and the upcoming council filled his mind.
