Glad you all like the chapter! :D Lack of updates though after this one for at least four days cuz I have another fic I gotta type on cuz the readers are even more rabid than you guys. And Kiki sorry to hear about your being bed ridden for the past few weeks, glad you’re up to par...hopefully. Yet some more OOCness courtesy of the Inu-no-Taisho. This chaps also gonna be a bit longer than usual.
Chapter 29
Ching! Sesshomaru jerked his head up as he heard the sound of glass hitting the floor. Rubbing his eyes he saw the shards of broken glass glittering in the sunlight, while the floor became stained with his water. Getting up he headed to the kitchen, grabbed the broom, dust pan, and a towel, before returning to the living room to clean up the mess. He couldn’t believe that he’d fallen asleep on the couch while waiting up. That’d never happened to him in his entire life, however the reason was fairly obvious.
Dumping the glass in a bin, and throwing the towel onto the counter, he took a seat at the table. Putting his hand on his abdomen he felt a strong rush of warmth pass through his body. Tracing it with his finger he said, “You are taking up too much of my energy for just being conceived.” Not really sure if the child knew what was being told to it, Sesshomaru headed back into the living room to wait for the promised phone call. He’d been up all night waiting for it, yet now nearly a full day later, neither his brother, the miko, or priest had given him any word on his mates location.
Even though he wasn’t exactly that technologically sound, Sesshomaru did know how to use a phone, the television, radio, and all the other electronic devices in the house save the computer. At around eleven o’clock the night before, he decided he’d try the Higurashi residence just for the sake of it. Getting the girls brother on the phone, Sesshomaru felt like he’d rather take out his eyeball with a rusty knife than to deal with the boys sarcastic attitude.
Once he was assured by Asami that his mate hadn’t stopped by, Sesshomaru took to channel surfing, Yet, before long his mind drifted back to when he was back in his own time. He didn’t want to go but he had previous engagements that were a bit more important than his mate, well nothing was more important than the family he now had, but there were matters that required his unwavering attention. Besides getting Rin back to her teachers to continue her studies, Sesshomaru had to meet with Koura to discuss a treaty of allowing some of the Panther-youkai to take up residence in Sesshomarus territory.
The treaty was reasonable, seventy-five of the feline youkai were to move into some of the mountainous areas away from any threats that were posed to them, so long as they didn’t terrorize any villagers and paid their respects to the Inu-no-Taisho. In the past Sesshomaru would have committed sepuki before allowing any of them into his territory, yet with the recent understanding between him and Koura he couldn’t say that he was happy to allow her people passage into his lands, he just saw it as an opportunity to extort a favor from the demoness should he ever require her assistance.
After a passionate kiss from his mate, Sesshomaru took Rin through the well, and once their journey was complete he found Jaken sitting at the base of the well with Ah-Un. Upon seeing the Dog Lord, the toads eyes grew watery as he ran forward shouting, “My Lord Sesshomaru, you have returned.” Stamping his foot down on the kappas head, Sesshomaru looked down saying, “Why have you not returned to the castle to await my guest?” Looking up te toad cowered as he said, “My lord, Rin fell through the well and I was fearful that neither of you may come back, which would then require me to tell one of your enemies that you were missing.”
Staring down at the demon, Sesshomaru punted him a few feet before saying, “Still you should have gone to the castle to make sure it and the village were in good condition.” Getting shakily to his feet, Jaken turned to face his lord as he said, “Forgive me, my lord.” Scoffing, Sesshomaru snapped his fingers, calling Ah-Un to him. Once the dragon stood face to face with the Dog, Sesshomaru said, “Start back to the castle. I’m taking them on my youki.” Nodding, the dragon nudged Rin lovingly before taking to the sky.
Pulling on the demons arm, Rin asked, “Does that mean we’re going to fly, Father?” Nodding, Sesshomaru led his daughter over to where the toad was. Concentrating, the trio were lifted into the air by a cloud like object. Rising above the canopy of the forest, Sesshomaru concentrated on taking them back to the house. Sensing it’s masters will, the energy sped off in the direction of the castle, while easily taking over the Ah-Un in a matter of seconds.
Speeding across the sky, while riding on his masters energy, Jakkens nose picked up an unusually peculiar scent coming from the lord. Glancing over his shoulder, Jaken was surprised to see Rin holding on the demons arm like she had grown from it. Remembering what she had said minutes before, the kappa asked, “My lord why did Rin call you father?” Keeping his eyes facing forward, the demon said in a low voice, “What she calls me is none of your concern.” Gulping loudly, the toad remained silent for a the next couple of hours.
When he noticed that they were only minutes away from the castle, Jaken asked, “My lord, are you sure you are feeling well, your scent has changed dramatically.” Dropping to her knees, Rin cautiously moved towards the toad before asking, “May I tell him what has happened?” Nodding curtly, Sesshomaru remained focused on his destination as Rin said, “Papa and Father have mated!”
Confused by the girls comment, the toad thought about who this “Papa” person might be. Thinking for a moment, Jakens brain suddenly exploded with the realization that “Papa,” was the human boy that his lord had been courting. Feeling a huge wrenching feeling in the pit of his stomach, Jaken looked back at his lord and asked, “My lord, please tell me you haven’t mated with that wretched boy! Say it isn’t true my lord, he is unworthy of your trust and love. You’d be better off with Rin as a mate than that grotesque...URK!!” Jakens rant was cut short by Sesshomarus hand clenching his neck while hanging him over the side of his youki.
Turning the toad so that his amber eyes tore into his servants mind, Sesshomaru said through clenched teeth, “If you ever speak ill of him again, your innards will be torn out with a dull spoon, while your ripped to shreds by a group of ogres. Have I made my self clear?” Squeaking out what Sesshomaru was sure to be, “Yes.” He flung the toad back onto his energy while before landing in the courtyard of his castle.
Back on the ground, Sesshomaru let his energy disperse and letting him, Rin, and Jaken back to the firmness of the Earth. Heading towards one of the doors, Sesshomaru was immediately cornered by Kiba shouting, “Lord Sesshomaru you’ve returned.” Glancing down at the small demon, Sesshomaru said, “Has Koura of the Panther Tribe arrived yet?” Shaking his head the small demon, searched through his pockets before handing a small slip of parchment.
Tearing the seal, Sesshomaru wasn’t surprised to find that a snow storm had hindered Koura’s visit due to the need of her people. Crumpling it up Sesshomaru looked out the door to find Rin being greeted by some of the guards. Returning his gaze to Kiba the dog lord said, “Make sure Rin is escorted to her lessons tomorrow.” Bowing deeply the child disappeared in a small puff of smoke. After he was gone, Sesshomaru returned to his chambers to go over any documents that were in need of his immediate attention.
It had taken well over a week for Koura to arrive, and by that time Sesshomaru was getting anxious to head back to his mate, but with the arrival of his former enemy, the dogs attention was required on the tasks if front of him. Once she was brought into the meeting or dining hall, Sesshomaru took his seat at the end of the table while the Panther took a seat next to him asking, “Where have you been running off to these past few months?” Not saying anything, Sesshomaru snapped for Shiba to bring the appropriate papers.
When she was gone Koura set her glass of tea down saying, “I take it that young human boy you took under your wing has had something to do with it.” Out of reflex, Sesshomarus claw was soon pressed to the throat of the panther. Chuckling, the Ice Wielder said, “Do not worry about me taking him from you. I was just curious as to why your scent isn’ t what it used to be. At one point your scent and aura, were saturated with greed and bloodlust. Now, I sense nearly no bloodlust and very little greed. This boy must be truly special to have forced such a change to occur.”
With the papers now in his hand, Sesshomaru said, “I seem to remember this meeting dealt with my allowing your people safe passage into my lands, not the current relationship between me and a human.” Chuckling cooly, Koura took the parchment from the dog, made her mark on it before shoving it back at the demon. Putting his seal upon the paper Sesshomaru said, “Remember, your people are only allowed into the village outside this castle and no others. Should they violate any of the stipulations printed on this contract, I am within full authority to wipe them out.”
Sipping at her tea again, Koura made a sideway glance at the demons collar bone to find a large purplish mark running down his left shoulder. Smirking smugly, Koura said, “I see that you have taken quite an interest in that boy since you seemed to be claimed, my lord.” Glaring at the panther, Sesshomarus hand went to his sword as he heard the demoness laugh loudly before saying, “Oh don’t be so quick to attack me. I have no interest in what goes on behind closed doors, although my earlier comment about your scent now makes sense to me, although there is something else within your scent that is peaking my interests.”
Letting go of the hilt of his sword, Sesshomaru kept his hand near it as he asked, “What about my scent is so interesting to you? I have mated with a human, therefore my scent will change slightly as is to be expected when we mate with somebody.” Smiling mischieviously, Koura created a few ice cubes to drop into her water as she said, “Your scent is more than his and yours combined, my lord. It seems that you have also fully submitted to your new mate. Considering your former attitude towards them I’m surprised you allowed one to dominate you. Of course, you do know what happens when someone like you fully submits to their mate, whether they are human or demon.”
Growling, Sesshomaru felt like a fool as the panthers words sunk into his mind. Glancing down at his stomach he said, “I have been suspecting that I was with child. But, I was waiting till returned here to see the village healer about it.” Drinking her water, Koura smiled as she said, “I forgot that old horse lived here. Although why she keeps up that old woman farce is rather unusual. Last I heard she was only a century younger than your father, if I’m not mistaken.”
Brushing the comment to the side, Sesshomaru said, “You may stay the night if you wish, but right now I need to head to the village. My servants will take care of anything you may need.” And without waiting for a reply, Sesshomaru was out the door heading towards the village. Heading down the mountain trail he was greeted by a few of the humans who lived in the shadow of his castle. Acknowledging them he continued into the village, down all the streets until he was at the door of the healers hut.
Pulling the curtain to the side he saw Rin in deep concentration while the woman kept watch over her work. When she was finished, Rin handed the concoction to the old woman for inspection. Examining it carefully, the horse demon placed the bowl down saying, “Excellent work, Rin.” Beaming happily Rin thanked her teacher by bowing deeply before noticing the shadow on the ground. The two women turned their gaze and smiled at the sight of the demon lord.
Of course, the old woman was the first to notice the look of concern the lord had on his face saying that he needed to speak with her privately, the demon looked at Rin saying, “Rin I need you to go and get some of that plant I told you was poisonous earlier.” Looking confused Rin was about to ask why when her teacher said, “I told you on your first day that in order to know the best way to cure something is to know how it is made, along with how it works. I will teach you how to make it into a poison, and then I’ll teach you the antidote, now run along.” Nodding Rin, got up and rushed out the door without even saying a word to her father.
Taking a seat at the side in front of the old woman, Sesshomaru was surprised to hear her say, “She has already told me about you and Seiya. Although a bit shocked, I’m happy to see that you’ve found someone to love. I have no children, so I’ve watched you and the children of this village like they are my own. But, I know that the reason you are here is not to tell me about your mating with the young master, am I correct?” Smirking slightly, Sesshomaru said, “Yes, since I have now heard it from two people that not only has my scent has apparently taken a turn for the better, it is also a reason to be suspicious of mine and Seiyas activites.”
Arching a brow the woman said, “I can the waves of your scent taking on a different pattern, along with that of your aura being much stronger than usual. Not only that, but just this morning Rin let it slip that you allowed yourself to completely submit to your mates touch. Well, she didn’t come out and say it like that, she’s still a bit naive to the way life is created in this world, but her vague description was enough to surmise the only reasonable conclusion. However, before I check to see if your hunch is correct, I must ask if you have told our new prince that you are able to bear his children.” Keeping her eyes on the demon, the healer sighed as she heard nothing pass the demon lords lips before rolling up her sleeves saying, “Lay down my lord.” Doing as he was told, Sesshomaru watched as the wrinkled hands were held over his abdomen.
Hearing her mutter a small incantation under her breath, Sesshomaru watched as her hands gave off a small yellowish glow. Opening her eyes, the woman watched the her hands and smiled as she said, “I sense a powerful youkai energy growing in you, along with a strong human essence as well. The two energies are in sync with each other as they are both trying to keep me from checking the childs health, as if it the two energies see me as a threat. This child is well loved, despite the fact both parents were oblivious to the fact that it existed. However, I am able to see the child growing inside of you. There is only one child, but I do know that from the energy that this child has helping it grow, it would probably be able to rival your brother if trained correctly. It is healthy as well, although I am unable to tell you if it is male or female.
When her hand were back at her side, Sesshomaru stood up saying, “Thank you for confirming this for me.” Waving him away, Sesshomaru headed back to the castle where he tried to figure out how he was going to break the news to his mate.
Well that was nearly a fortnight ago, now he was back in Seiyas time, sitting on the couch in the living room of their new home waiting for news about his mate. He could have gone to find him, but after what was said to him, Sesshomaru felt it was best that Seiya not see him until he was ready to. He despised waiting in the house alone, and was just about ready to go and search for his mate on his own when he heard the front door open. Getting up he headed to the entrance way to see his mates cousin standing there with a smirk on his face and a couple of subway passes in his hands. “Found him, but we gotta take the train since walking would take to long and with you in your condition I don’t want you to carry me.”
Getting on his shoes, Sesshomaru followed Jessy down to the nearby subway entrance asking, “How did you find him?” Smirking, Jessy held up a cell phone. Taking it from the priest, the demon recognized it as the little portable thing his mate carried with him so that people could get in touch with him when he wasn’t home. Hitting the down button on accident, Sesshomaru saw the list of people who had last called the number. Reading the first name, he saw that it was the girl Mia who had given him and Sei the tickets to that play they saw on one of Sesshomarus first visits.
Sticking it into one of his pant pockets, Sesshomaru asked as they boarded the train, “How long ago did she contact you?” Yawning loudly, the young priest said, “Fifteen minutes ago. I had to get us tickets once I got off the train so we could get him as soon as possible.” Feeling uncomfortable about heading to the girls house, Sesshomaru remained silent for the rest of the trip.
Upon reaching their stop, Jessy pulled out a piece of paper, giving it a quick glance, the priest started leading them towards the appropriate exit. Back on the street, Sesshomaru followed the priest down a short series of streets until they reached a medium sized apartment building. Checking the address, Jessy and the demon headed into the building, located the appropriate door and knocked.
Hearing a voice say, “Time to go there big guy.” Sesshomaru and Jessy were surprised to see Seiya standing at the door with a completely disheveled look about him. Sesshomaru had seen him like that before when he’d fallen asleep on the couch after two days of no sleep, but this time was different. His mate reeked of alcohol, vomit and the girls perfume. Unsure of what to make of the situation, Sesshomaru remained silent as Jessy asked for the keys to the car.
Stumbling out the door, Seiya headed to the parking lot, while Sesshomaru watched as the girl whispered something into the priests ear. Suspicious of what was said between the two, Sesshomaru snatched the keys from the priest and followed his mate to make sure nothing happened to him.
When he exited the building, Sesshomaru was surprised to find his mate sitting on the hood of his car dozing off. Heading towards the car, Sesshomaru took a seat before asking, “Did you have fun making me worry like that?” Opening his eyes, Seiya said, “Don’t start, I have a huge hang over all right?” Scoffing at his mates excuse, Sesshomaru fiddled with the keys just to annoy the human even more. Groaning loudly, Sei snatched the metal objects from his mate as he said, “I’m serious stop it.” Snatching them back, Sesshomaru continued to make noise out of spite, while dodging the pathetic attempts the human made to get him to stop from making the noise.
Keeping a straight face, Sesshomaru smiled inwardly as Seiya finally gave up trying to stop his mate from making the jingling noise so he could swallow a few aspirin. Watching his mate swallow the pills for a moment, Sesshomaru did feel a bit guilty for taking pleasure at his mates current ailment, but he thought it was an appropriate punishment for drinking so much. Once his mate had taken the two tablets, Sesshomaru was about to continue his jingling when the keys were taken from him. Growling loudly, he saw Jessy unlock the doors before saying, “Get in and be nice.”
Snorting, Sesshomaru climbed into the front seat, while Seiya did his best to stumble into the back. When his cousin was finally in the back seat, Jessy backed out of the drive way and got onto the road before asking, “Had a bit too much to drink last night did ya?” Glancing up into the rearview mirror, Seiya said, “Oh shut up. I’m not drinking that shit ever again.” Chuckling, Jessy turned the corner carefully as he said, “You sucked down a bottle and half of Wild Turkey, without any chasers or food in your system. So of course you’re gonna get sick like you are.”
Sticking his tongue out a this cousin, Sei was about to say something when Sesshomaru said, “Don’t start, since we’re already home.” Looking out the window, Seiya was surprised that the trip had gone by so fast, looking at the mirror he saw Jessy give him an odd wink, which led him to believe that his cousin had sped the whole way home. Unlocking the door, Seiya stumbled out of the car towards the front door. Getting his keys out, Seiya let himself into the house before lumbering up the stairs while Sesshomaru asked Jessy, “What in the world is Wild Turkey?”
Stretching loudly, Jessy scratched his chest before saying, “It’s a really strong brand of liquor. Stronger than most legal brands in the country I’m from. But where I live, there’s one so strong that it’s illegal in forty eight parts of the country.” Stepping into the house, Sesshomaru heard the bedroom door close and the faint sound of the bed creaking as Jessy said, “It’s called Moonshine, I had a sip and nearly puked out my liver. You drink at all, Sesshomaru?”
Shaking his head the lord said, “No, I’ve lived nearly for nearly one thousand years and have never allowed any form of that putrid liquid into my body as it causes you to make senseless mistakes in battle.” Taking his shoes off, Jessy headed into the living room to watch t.v. while Sesshomaru made his way into his and Seiyas bedroom. Opening the door, he found his mate completely passed out on the bed. Stepping close he realized his mate was sleeping had stripped naked, not knowing if it was intentional, or caused by his drunken state.
Moving closer Sesshomaru noticed some odd markings planted all over his mates body. Glancing down, Sesshomaru noticed that the marks were made by that red lip rouge women wore to attract men. The demon could feel his anger boil over at both his mate and the girl. One argument, was reason for his mate to get drunk and go to a womans home for a night of passion. Keeping his anger in check, Sesshomaru walked over to a small cushioned chair that Seiya kept in the room for reading, and watched over his mate.
Hours passed before Seiya woke up from his alcohol induced nap. Looking at the clock he saw that it was already past midnight, unsure of where he was Seiya rubbed his eyes before he noticed that he was in his own bedroom, naked and feeling better than he had before he fell asleep. At least now he didn’t have to worry about his head hurting from the tiniest sounds to reach his ears. Grabbing his cane he headed to the bathroom . If there was one thing he hated about drinking, it was the fact that it forced the liver and kidneys to pump out all excess liquids from your system.
With that finally done, Seiya flung himself back onto the bed for more sleep when a cool voice asked, “Might I inquire as to what happened last night after you left the drinking house?” Sitting up, Seiya saw Sesshomaru sitting stiffly in the chair next to the window. Turning a lamp on, Seiya asked, “What do you mean what happened? I went to Mias house to sleep off the whiskey.” Scoffing Sesshomaru walked towards his mate and slammed his fist into the boys face. Falling off the bed with a loud thud.
Rubbing his jaw, Seiya could taste the blood from his jaw, along with feeling his cheek begin to bruise and swell. Looking up he snarled, “What the hell is the matter with you?! I told you I didn’t do anything with her!” Picking his mate up, Sesshomaru dragged him into the bathroom, turned on the light and hissed, “Then how do explain all of these?!” Letting his eyes focus, Seiya could see lipstick all over his chest, along with one lip shaped mark on his waist line. Gripping the sink like a snake gripped a rat, Seiya muttered, “I don’t ever remember doing this with her. All I remember was her kissing me out of what I thought was her being stupid cuz she was drunk, but after that I passed out. I didn’t let her do this to me willingly and if you don’t believe me fine. All I know is that I never consented to her doing this to me.”
Heading back into the bedroom Sesshomaru sat on the bed saying, “I don’t know what to believe any more koi. First you lie to your father about your preferring men to women, then you get angry at me for not telling you about our child, leave without telling anybody where you were going, get drunk and sleep in a womans bed only to come home with imprints of her lips all over you.” Turning to face his mate, Seiya said, “I’ve given you my reasons as to why I was angry, so why should you feel hurt at my being angry. What was your reason for keeping it a secret from me? Had you told me I would have...”
Seiya was cut short by the sudden appearance of Sesshomaru pressing him against the counter breathing heavily as he said, “You would have what? Been hesitant to love me, to mate with me? Or would have left me because I wasn’t normal in the way you are. Yes I am a demon, and yes now that I am with you I have the ability to bear your children. Would you still look at me the way you did before you found out? We are a male human and demon couple, Seiya. And because female demons are few and far between, all male demons, through many years of evolution, have the ability to bear children should they submit to another male out of necessity for survival. So as I asked you before would you still have loved me the way you did before I told you this?” Seiya said nothing as his mate spoke these words, having nothing to say, the human remained silent as he absorbed what was just divulged to him.
After a few moments of silence, Seiya asked, “So you kept this from me out of fear that I may leave you because of something you have no control over?” Wrapping an arm around his mates body, Sesshomaru pulled the boy in as he said, “Yes, I was afraid. It’s one of the few times I’ve ever felt true fear in my life. I told you that you are the most precious thing in my life, and I didn’t want to risk losing it. I’ve been alone for a long time, Seiya. Even when I was among Rin and Jaken I was alone. You know how that is, and my brother knows it all to well. Perhaps that’s why I hated him, because he was another living reminder of my loneliness. The three of us are too much alike, which is why I felt drawn to you when I found you in the river. I’m no longer alone because of you, and I don’t ever want to feel that way again.
Seiya could feel tears running down his shoulder. He knew at once that they were Sesshomarus, even though there was no other sign of the demons crying, Seiya just knew they were his mates. Pulling his mate to him, Seiya squeezed Sesshomaru tightly as he said, “I’m not going to leave you alone, just as you won’t leave me alone. All I ask is that there be no more huge secrets between us. Little secrets are fine, like past relationships and stuff, but life altering ones need to be brought out.” Nuzzling his mates neck, Sesshomaru said in a low voice, “This brat is making me too emotional.”
Smacking his mates back, Seiya asked, “Did you hear what I just told you?” Chuckling, Sesshomaru said, “I heard you, Seiya. But, from now on should you drink, you are to go only with me so I can keep an eye on you.” Kissing the demons head, Seiya hugged him tightly as he said with a mouthful of hair, “You got yourself a deal there, mutt breath.” Growling, Sesshomaru planted his lips on Seiyas mouth so fast, that the boy didn’t even feel his mates tongue sneak it’s way in. Laughing a bit into the kiss, Seiya pressed back as he massaged his tongue against the demons.
After a moment they pulled apart panting slightly. Sesshomaru gave the boy another quick kiss before saying, “Your mouth tastes disgusting.” Pressing his forehead against the demons, Seiya said, “Shut up and help me into the bed.” Throwing his mates arm over his shoulder, Sesshomaru walked the two of them back into the bed before setting Seiya down on it. He got out of his clothes and was about to lay on his stomach, when Seiya said, “Don’t you dare sleep like that or you’ll kill our child.”
Realizing his mate was telling the truth, Sesshomaru turned onto his side, but just as he was about to drift off to sleep he felt Seiya move closer to him and set his head against his chest. Still a bit uncomfortable with this position, Sesshomaru shifted his body so that he was on his back with his chest face turned towards the ceiling. Hearing his mates breathing slow, Sesshomaru felt a hand creep up onto his stomach as if he was trying to protect the two of them. Closing his eyes, Sesshomaru said under his breath, “I love you.” Grunting in his sleep, Seiya said, “I’ll keep protect the two of you.” before returning to his dreams.
WOW THAT WAS LONG!! Well hope you aren’t too disappointed with me. Kinda odd to see the might Fluffy cry like that huh? I know it was a bit sappy but come on, I honestly think he’s a lonely guy, so that’s how I wrote it out. Anyways, I won’t update fore a few days cuz I got another fic to work on, LATER!!

Ching! Sesshomaru jerked his head up as he heard the sound of glass hitting the floor. Rubbing his eyes he saw the shards of broken glass glittering in the sunlight, while the floor became stained with his water. Getting up he headed to the kitchen, grabbed the broom, dust pan, and a towel, before returning to the living room to clean up the mess. He couldn’t believe that he’d fallen asleep on the couch while waiting up. That’d never happened to him in his entire life, however the reason was fairly obvious.
Dumping the glass in a bin, and throwing the towel onto the counter, he took a seat at the table. Putting his hand on his abdomen he felt a strong rush of warmth pass through his body. Tracing it with his finger he said, “You are taking up too much of my energy for just being conceived.” Not really sure if the child knew what was being told to it, Sesshomaru headed back into the living room to wait for the promised phone call. He’d been up all night waiting for it, yet now nearly a full day later, neither his brother, the miko, or priest had given him any word on his mates location.
Even though he wasn’t exactly that technologically sound, Sesshomaru did know how to use a phone, the television, radio, and all the other electronic devices in the house save the computer. At around eleven o’clock the night before, he decided he’d try the Higurashi residence just for the sake of it. Getting the girls brother on the phone, Sesshomaru felt like he’d rather take out his eyeball with a rusty knife than to deal with the boys sarcastic attitude.
Once he was assured by Asami that his mate hadn’t stopped by, Sesshomaru took to channel surfing, Yet, before long his mind drifted back to when he was back in his own time. He didn’t want to go but he had previous engagements that were a bit more important than his mate, well nothing was more important than the family he now had, but there were matters that required his unwavering attention. Besides getting Rin back to her teachers to continue her studies, Sesshomaru had to meet with Koura to discuss a treaty of allowing some of the Panther-youkai to take up residence in Sesshomarus territory.
The treaty was reasonable, seventy-five of the feline youkai were to move into some of the mountainous areas away from any threats that were posed to them, so long as they didn’t terrorize any villagers and paid their respects to the Inu-no-Taisho. In the past Sesshomaru would have committed sepuki before allowing any of them into his territory, yet with the recent understanding between him and Koura he couldn’t say that he was happy to allow her people passage into his lands, he just saw it as an opportunity to extort a favor from the demoness should he ever require her assistance.
After a passionate kiss from his mate, Sesshomaru took Rin through the well, and once their journey was complete he found Jaken sitting at the base of the well with Ah-Un. Upon seeing the Dog Lord, the toads eyes grew watery as he ran forward shouting, “My Lord Sesshomaru, you have returned.” Stamping his foot down on the kappas head, Sesshomaru looked down saying, “Why have you not returned to the castle to await my guest?” Looking up te toad cowered as he said, “My lord, Rin fell through the well and I was fearful that neither of you may come back, which would then require me to tell one of your enemies that you were missing.”
Staring down at the demon, Sesshomaru punted him a few feet before saying, “Still you should have gone to the castle to make sure it and the village were in good condition.” Getting shakily to his feet, Jaken turned to face his lord as he said, “Forgive me, my lord.” Scoffing, Sesshomaru snapped his fingers, calling Ah-Un to him. Once the dragon stood face to face with the Dog, Sesshomaru said, “Start back to the castle. I’m taking them on my youki.” Nodding, the dragon nudged Rin lovingly before taking to the sky.
Pulling on the demons arm, Rin asked, “Does that mean we’re going to fly, Father?” Nodding, Sesshomaru led his daughter over to where the toad was. Concentrating, the trio were lifted into the air by a cloud like object. Rising above the canopy of the forest, Sesshomaru concentrated on taking them back to the house. Sensing it’s masters will, the energy sped off in the direction of the castle, while easily taking over the Ah-Un in a matter of seconds.
Speeding across the sky, while riding on his masters energy, Jakkens nose picked up an unusually peculiar scent coming from the lord. Glancing over his shoulder, Jaken was surprised to see Rin holding on the demons arm like she had grown from it. Remembering what she had said minutes before, the kappa asked, “My lord why did Rin call you father?” Keeping his eyes facing forward, the demon said in a low voice, “What she calls me is none of your concern.” Gulping loudly, the toad remained silent for a the next couple of hours.
When he noticed that they were only minutes away from the castle, Jaken asked, “My lord, are you sure you are feeling well, your scent has changed dramatically.” Dropping to her knees, Rin cautiously moved towards the toad before asking, “May I tell him what has happened?” Nodding curtly, Sesshomaru remained focused on his destination as Rin said, “Papa and Father have mated!”
Confused by the girls comment, the toad thought about who this “Papa” person might be. Thinking for a moment, Jakens brain suddenly exploded with the realization that “Papa,” was the human boy that his lord had been courting. Feeling a huge wrenching feeling in the pit of his stomach, Jaken looked back at his lord and asked, “My lord, please tell me you haven’t mated with that wretched boy! Say it isn’t true my lord, he is unworthy of your trust and love. You’d be better off with Rin as a mate than that grotesque...URK!!” Jakens rant was cut short by Sesshomarus hand clenching his neck while hanging him over the side of his youki.
Turning the toad so that his amber eyes tore into his servants mind, Sesshomaru said through clenched teeth, “If you ever speak ill of him again, your innards will be torn out with a dull spoon, while your ripped to shreds by a group of ogres. Have I made my self clear?” Squeaking out what Sesshomaru was sure to be, “Yes.” He flung the toad back onto his energy while before landing in the courtyard of his castle.
Back on the ground, Sesshomaru let his energy disperse and letting him, Rin, and Jaken back to the firmness of the Earth. Heading towards one of the doors, Sesshomaru was immediately cornered by Kiba shouting, “Lord Sesshomaru you’ve returned.” Glancing down at the small demon, Sesshomaru said, “Has Koura of the Panther Tribe arrived yet?” Shaking his head the small demon, searched through his pockets before handing a small slip of parchment.
Tearing the seal, Sesshomaru wasn’t surprised to find that a snow storm had hindered Koura’s visit due to the need of her people. Crumpling it up Sesshomaru looked out the door to find Rin being greeted by some of the guards. Returning his gaze to Kiba the dog lord said, “Make sure Rin is escorted to her lessons tomorrow.” Bowing deeply the child disappeared in a small puff of smoke. After he was gone, Sesshomaru returned to his chambers to go over any documents that were in need of his immediate attention.
It had taken well over a week for Koura to arrive, and by that time Sesshomaru was getting anxious to head back to his mate, but with the arrival of his former enemy, the dogs attention was required on the tasks if front of him. Once she was brought into the meeting or dining hall, Sesshomaru took his seat at the end of the table while the Panther took a seat next to him asking, “Where have you been running off to these past few months?” Not saying anything, Sesshomaru snapped for Shiba to bring the appropriate papers.
When she was gone Koura set her glass of tea down saying, “I take it that young human boy you took under your wing has had something to do with it.” Out of reflex, Sesshomarus claw was soon pressed to the throat of the panther. Chuckling, the Ice Wielder said, “Do not worry about me taking him from you. I was just curious as to why your scent isn’ t what it used to be. At one point your scent and aura, were saturated with greed and bloodlust. Now, I sense nearly no bloodlust and very little greed. This boy must be truly special to have forced such a change to occur.”
With the papers now in his hand, Sesshomaru said, “I seem to remember this meeting dealt with my allowing your people safe passage into my lands, not the current relationship between me and a human.” Chuckling cooly, Koura took the parchment from the dog, made her mark on it before shoving it back at the demon. Putting his seal upon the paper Sesshomaru said, “Remember, your people are only allowed into the village outside this castle and no others. Should they violate any of the stipulations printed on this contract, I am within full authority to wipe them out.”
Sipping at her tea again, Koura made a sideway glance at the demons collar bone to find a large purplish mark running down his left shoulder. Smirking smugly, Koura said, “I see that you have taken quite an interest in that boy since you seemed to be claimed, my lord.” Glaring at the panther, Sesshomarus hand went to his sword as he heard the demoness laugh loudly before saying, “Oh don’t be so quick to attack me. I have no interest in what goes on behind closed doors, although my earlier comment about your scent now makes sense to me, although there is something else within your scent that is peaking my interests.”
Letting go of the hilt of his sword, Sesshomaru kept his hand near it as he asked, “What about my scent is so interesting to you? I have mated with a human, therefore my scent will change slightly as is to be expected when we mate with somebody.” Smiling mischieviously, Koura created a few ice cubes to drop into her water as she said, “Your scent is more than his and yours combined, my lord. It seems that you have also fully submitted to your new mate. Considering your former attitude towards them I’m surprised you allowed one to dominate you. Of course, you do know what happens when someone like you fully submits to their mate, whether they are human or demon.”
Growling, Sesshomaru felt like a fool as the panthers words sunk into his mind. Glancing down at his stomach he said, “I have been suspecting that I was with child. But, I was waiting till returned here to see the village healer about it.” Drinking her water, Koura smiled as she said, “I forgot that old horse lived here. Although why she keeps up that old woman farce is rather unusual. Last I heard she was only a century younger than your father, if I’m not mistaken.”
Brushing the comment to the side, Sesshomaru said, “You may stay the night if you wish, but right now I need to head to the village. My servants will take care of anything you may need.” And without waiting for a reply, Sesshomaru was out the door heading towards the village. Heading down the mountain trail he was greeted by a few of the humans who lived in the shadow of his castle. Acknowledging them he continued into the village, down all the streets until he was at the door of the healers hut.
Pulling the curtain to the side he saw Rin in deep concentration while the woman kept watch over her work. When she was finished, Rin handed the concoction to the old woman for inspection. Examining it carefully, the horse demon placed the bowl down saying, “Excellent work, Rin.” Beaming happily Rin thanked her teacher by bowing deeply before noticing the shadow on the ground. The two women turned their gaze and smiled at the sight of the demon lord.
Of course, the old woman was the first to notice the look of concern the lord had on his face saying that he needed to speak with her privately, the demon looked at Rin saying, “Rin I need you to go and get some of that plant I told you was poisonous earlier.” Looking confused Rin was about to ask why when her teacher said, “I told you on your first day that in order to know the best way to cure something is to know how it is made, along with how it works. I will teach you how to make it into a poison, and then I’ll teach you the antidote, now run along.” Nodding Rin, got up and rushed out the door without even saying a word to her father.
Taking a seat at the side in front of the old woman, Sesshomaru was surprised to hear her say, “She has already told me about you and Seiya. Although a bit shocked, I’m happy to see that you’ve found someone to love. I have no children, so I’ve watched you and the children of this village like they are my own. But, I know that the reason you are here is not to tell me about your mating with the young master, am I correct?” Smirking slightly, Sesshomaru said, “Yes, since I have now heard it from two people that not only has my scent has apparently taken a turn for the better, it is also a reason to be suspicious of mine and Seiyas activites.”
Arching a brow the woman said, “I can the waves of your scent taking on a different pattern, along with that of your aura being much stronger than usual. Not only that, but just this morning Rin let it slip that you allowed yourself to completely submit to your mates touch. Well, she didn’t come out and say it like that, she’s still a bit naive to the way life is created in this world, but her vague description was enough to surmise the only reasonable conclusion. However, before I check to see if your hunch is correct, I must ask if you have told our new prince that you are able to bear his children.” Keeping her eyes on the demon, the healer sighed as she heard nothing pass the demon lords lips before rolling up her sleeves saying, “Lay down my lord.” Doing as he was told, Sesshomaru watched as the wrinkled hands were held over his abdomen.
Hearing her mutter a small incantation under her breath, Sesshomaru watched as her hands gave off a small yellowish glow. Opening her eyes, the woman watched the her hands and smiled as she said, “I sense a powerful youkai energy growing in you, along with a strong human essence as well. The two energies are in sync with each other as they are both trying to keep me from checking the childs health, as if it the two energies see me as a threat. This child is well loved, despite the fact both parents were oblivious to the fact that it existed. However, I am able to see the child growing inside of you. There is only one child, but I do know that from the energy that this child has helping it grow, it would probably be able to rival your brother if trained correctly. It is healthy as well, although I am unable to tell you if it is male or female.
When her hand were back at her side, Sesshomaru stood up saying, “Thank you for confirming this for me.” Waving him away, Sesshomaru headed back to the castle where he tried to figure out how he was going to break the news to his mate.
Well that was nearly a fortnight ago, now he was back in Seiyas time, sitting on the couch in the living room of their new home waiting for news about his mate. He could have gone to find him, but after what was said to him, Sesshomaru felt it was best that Seiya not see him until he was ready to. He despised waiting in the house alone, and was just about ready to go and search for his mate on his own when he heard the front door open. Getting up he headed to the entrance way to see his mates cousin standing there with a smirk on his face and a couple of subway passes in his hands. “Found him, but we gotta take the train since walking would take to long and with you in your condition I don’t want you to carry me.”
Getting on his shoes, Sesshomaru followed Jessy down to the nearby subway entrance asking, “How did you find him?” Smirking, Jessy held up a cell phone. Taking it from the priest, the demon recognized it as the little portable thing his mate carried with him so that people could get in touch with him when he wasn’t home. Hitting the down button on accident, Sesshomaru saw the list of people who had last called the number. Reading the first name, he saw that it was the girl Mia who had given him and Sei the tickets to that play they saw on one of Sesshomarus first visits.
Sticking it into one of his pant pockets, Sesshomaru asked as they boarded the train, “How long ago did she contact you?” Yawning loudly, the young priest said, “Fifteen minutes ago. I had to get us tickets once I got off the train so we could get him as soon as possible.” Feeling uncomfortable about heading to the girls house, Sesshomaru remained silent for the rest of the trip.
Upon reaching their stop, Jessy pulled out a piece of paper, giving it a quick glance, the priest started leading them towards the appropriate exit. Back on the street, Sesshomaru followed the priest down a short series of streets until they reached a medium sized apartment building. Checking the address, Jessy and the demon headed into the building, located the appropriate door and knocked.
Hearing a voice say, “Time to go there big guy.” Sesshomaru and Jessy were surprised to see Seiya standing at the door with a completely disheveled look about him. Sesshomaru had seen him like that before when he’d fallen asleep on the couch after two days of no sleep, but this time was different. His mate reeked of alcohol, vomit and the girls perfume. Unsure of what to make of the situation, Sesshomaru remained silent as Jessy asked for the keys to the car.
Stumbling out the door, Seiya headed to the parking lot, while Sesshomaru watched as the girl whispered something into the priests ear. Suspicious of what was said between the two, Sesshomaru snatched the keys from the priest and followed his mate to make sure nothing happened to him.
When he exited the building, Sesshomaru was surprised to find his mate sitting on the hood of his car dozing off. Heading towards the car, Sesshomaru took a seat before asking, “Did you have fun making me worry like that?” Opening his eyes, Seiya said, “Don’t start, I have a huge hang over all right?” Scoffing at his mates excuse, Sesshomaru fiddled with the keys just to annoy the human even more. Groaning loudly, Sei snatched the metal objects from his mate as he said, “I’m serious stop it.” Snatching them back, Sesshomaru continued to make noise out of spite, while dodging the pathetic attempts the human made to get him to stop from making the noise.
Keeping a straight face, Sesshomaru smiled inwardly as Seiya finally gave up trying to stop his mate from making the jingling noise so he could swallow a few aspirin. Watching his mate swallow the pills for a moment, Sesshomaru did feel a bit guilty for taking pleasure at his mates current ailment, but he thought it was an appropriate punishment for drinking so much. Once his mate had taken the two tablets, Sesshomaru was about to continue his jingling when the keys were taken from him. Growling loudly, he saw Jessy unlock the doors before saying, “Get in and be nice.”
Snorting, Sesshomaru climbed into the front seat, while Seiya did his best to stumble into the back. When his cousin was finally in the back seat, Jessy backed out of the drive way and got onto the road before asking, “Had a bit too much to drink last night did ya?” Glancing up into the rearview mirror, Seiya said, “Oh shut up. I’m not drinking that shit ever again.” Chuckling, Jessy turned the corner carefully as he said, “You sucked down a bottle and half of Wild Turkey, without any chasers or food in your system. So of course you’re gonna get sick like you are.”
Sticking his tongue out a this cousin, Sei was about to say something when Sesshomaru said, “Don’t start, since we’re already home.” Looking out the window, Seiya was surprised that the trip had gone by so fast, looking at the mirror he saw Jessy give him an odd wink, which led him to believe that his cousin had sped the whole way home. Unlocking the door, Seiya stumbled out of the car towards the front door. Getting his keys out, Seiya let himself into the house before lumbering up the stairs while Sesshomaru asked Jessy, “What in the world is Wild Turkey?”
Stretching loudly, Jessy scratched his chest before saying, “It’s a really strong brand of liquor. Stronger than most legal brands in the country I’m from. But where I live, there’s one so strong that it’s illegal in forty eight parts of the country.” Stepping into the house, Sesshomaru heard the bedroom door close and the faint sound of the bed creaking as Jessy said, “It’s called Moonshine, I had a sip and nearly puked out my liver. You drink at all, Sesshomaru?”
Shaking his head the lord said, “No, I’ve lived nearly for nearly one thousand years and have never allowed any form of that putrid liquid into my body as it causes you to make senseless mistakes in battle.” Taking his shoes off, Jessy headed into the living room to watch t.v. while Sesshomaru made his way into his and Seiyas bedroom. Opening the door, he found his mate completely passed out on the bed. Stepping close he realized his mate was sleeping had stripped naked, not knowing if it was intentional, or caused by his drunken state.
Moving closer Sesshomaru noticed some odd markings planted all over his mates body. Glancing down, Sesshomaru noticed that the marks were made by that red lip rouge women wore to attract men. The demon could feel his anger boil over at both his mate and the girl. One argument, was reason for his mate to get drunk and go to a womans home for a night of passion. Keeping his anger in check, Sesshomaru walked over to a small cushioned chair that Seiya kept in the room for reading, and watched over his mate.
Hours passed before Seiya woke up from his alcohol induced nap. Looking at the clock he saw that it was already past midnight, unsure of where he was Seiya rubbed his eyes before he noticed that he was in his own bedroom, naked and feeling better than he had before he fell asleep. At least now he didn’t have to worry about his head hurting from the tiniest sounds to reach his ears. Grabbing his cane he headed to the bathroom . If there was one thing he hated about drinking, it was the fact that it forced the liver and kidneys to pump out all excess liquids from your system.
With that finally done, Seiya flung himself back onto the bed for more sleep when a cool voice asked, “Might I inquire as to what happened last night after you left the drinking house?” Sitting up, Seiya saw Sesshomaru sitting stiffly in the chair next to the window. Turning a lamp on, Seiya asked, “What do you mean what happened? I went to Mias house to sleep off the whiskey.” Scoffing Sesshomaru walked towards his mate and slammed his fist into the boys face. Falling off the bed with a loud thud.
Rubbing his jaw, Seiya could taste the blood from his jaw, along with feeling his cheek begin to bruise and swell. Looking up he snarled, “What the hell is the matter with you?! I told you I didn’t do anything with her!” Picking his mate up, Sesshomaru dragged him into the bathroom, turned on the light and hissed, “Then how do explain all of these?!” Letting his eyes focus, Seiya could see lipstick all over his chest, along with one lip shaped mark on his waist line. Gripping the sink like a snake gripped a rat, Seiya muttered, “I don’t ever remember doing this with her. All I remember was her kissing me out of what I thought was her being stupid cuz she was drunk, but after that I passed out. I didn’t let her do this to me willingly and if you don’t believe me fine. All I know is that I never consented to her doing this to me.”
Heading back into the bedroom Sesshomaru sat on the bed saying, “I don’t know what to believe any more koi. First you lie to your father about your preferring men to women, then you get angry at me for not telling you about our child, leave without telling anybody where you were going, get drunk and sleep in a womans bed only to come home with imprints of her lips all over you.” Turning to face his mate, Seiya said, “I’ve given you my reasons as to why I was angry, so why should you feel hurt at my being angry. What was your reason for keeping it a secret from me? Had you told me I would have...”
Seiya was cut short by the sudden appearance of Sesshomaru pressing him against the counter breathing heavily as he said, “You would have what? Been hesitant to love me, to mate with me? Or would have left me because I wasn’t normal in the way you are. Yes I am a demon, and yes now that I am with you I have the ability to bear your children. Would you still look at me the way you did before you found out? We are a male human and demon couple, Seiya. And because female demons are few and far between, all male demons, through many years of evolution, have the ability to bear children should they submit to another male out of necessity for survival. So as I asked you before would you still have loved me the way you did before I told you this?” Seiya said nothing as his mate spoke these words, having nothing to say, the human remained silent as he absorbed what was just divulged to him.
After a few moments of silence, Seiya asked, “So you kept this from me out of fear that I may leave you because of something you have no control over?” Wrapping an arm around his mates body, Sesshomaru pulled the boy in as he said, “Yes, I was afraid. It’s one of the few times I’ve ever felt true fear in my life. I told you that you are the most precious thing in my life, and I didn’t want to risk losing it. I’ve been alone for a long time, Seiya. Even when I was among Rin and Jaken I was alone. You know how that is, and my brother knows it all to well. Perhaps that’s why I hated him, because he was another living reminder of my loneliness. The three of us are too much alike, which is why I felt drawn to you when I found you in the river. I’m no longer alone because of you, and I don’t ever want to feel that way again.
Seiya could feel tears running down his shoulder. He knew at once that they were Sesshomarus, even though there was no other sign of the demons crying, Seiya just knew they were his mates. Pulling his mate to him, Seiya squeezed Sesshomaru tightly as he said, “I’m not going to leave you alone, just as you won’t leave me alone. All I ask is that there be no more huge secrets between us. Little secrets are fine, like past relationships and stuff, but life altering ones need to be brought out.” Nuzzling his mates neck, Sesshomaru said in a low voice, “This brat is making me too emotional.”
Smacking his mates back, Seiya asked, “Did you hear what I just told you?” Chuckling, Sesshomaru said, “I heard you, Seiya. But, from now on should you drink, you are to go only with me so I can keep an eye on you.” Kissing the demons head, Seiya hugged him tightly as he said with a mouthful of hair, “You got yourself a deal there, mutt breath.” Growling, Sesshomaru planted his lips on Seiyas mouth so fast, that the boy didn’t even feel his mates tongue sneak it’s way in. Laughing a bit into the kiss, Seiya pressed back as he massaged his tongue against the demons.
After a moment they pulled apart panting slightly. Sesshomaru gave the boy another quick kiss before saying, “Your mouth tastes disgusting.” Pressing his forehead against the demons, Seiya said, “Shut up and help me into the bed.” Throwing his mates arm over his shoulder, Sesshomaru walked the two of them back into the bed before setting Seiya down on it. He got out of his clothes and was about to lay on his stomach, when Seiya said, “Don’t you dare sleep like that or you’ll kill our child.”
Realizing his mate was telling the truth, Sesshomaru turned onto his side, but just as he was about to drift off to sleep he felt Seiya move closer to him and set his head against his chest. Still a bit uncomfortable with this position, Sesshomaru shifted his body so that he was on his back with his chest face turned towards the ceiling. Hearing his mates breathing slow, Sesshomaru felt a hand creep up onto his stomach as if he was trying to protect the two of them. Closing his eyes, Sesshomaru said under his breath, “I love you.” Grunting in his sleep, Seiya said, “I’ll keep protect the two of you.” before returning to his dreams.
WOW THAT WAS LONG!! Well hope you aren’t too disappointed with me. Kinda odd to see the might Fluffy cry like that huh? I know it was a bit sappy but come on, I honestly think he’s a lonely guy, so that’s how I wrote it out. Anyways, I won’t update fore a few days cuz I got another fic to work on, LATER!!
