Author's Note: HI!!This is my first fanfic...I suck at writing, but hey, `tis summer and I got nuthin to do. Plz review and tell me what u think. Remember: no flames, no stupid comments lk "I hate Kikyou soooo much!" or "Sess and Kik soooo don't go together!". It's totally fine if you think that. If you do, then don't read Sess/Kik stuff.

"Kagome!" Inuyasha yelled as he ran through the forest. It was getting darker and darker by the minute.

`Where the hell could she be' he wondered. He slowed down, trying to sniff out her

scent. He could make out a faint smell of wildflowers, which came from behind a tree.

'Kagome?' he wondered and ran towards the tree.

Kagome stood with her back against the tree with tears in her eyes, wondering if he meant what he said earlier.

Flashback

"Let go of me Inuyasha" Kikyou spat angrily. "No! I won't let you go to Naraku" Inuyasha growled. "You'll get yourself killed. I can protect you. I swore to protect you Kikyou. I would never forgive myself if anything bad happened to you." `Again....' he thought. Kikyou said nothing but gave him a cold look. "Please...." Inuyasha said softly. Kikyou looked at him for a long time, then pushed him away. "You cannot protect me anymore Inuyasha...you know that...." she said sadly then flew away with her soul catchers wrapped around her. "KIKYOU!" Inuyasha yelled as she ascended into the night.

End of Flashback

`He does care for Kikyou more than he cares for me.' Kagome thought miserably. `I guess he won't be needing me anymore...after all, I'm just his "shard detector".' she turned and walked towards the direction of the well when she suddenly found herself face-to-face with Inuyasha. "What the hell were you thinking? Are you stupid?! Running off like that? There are demons in this forest! U could have gotten (is that a word??????) yourself killed!" Inuyasha yelled. Then, he realised that she had been crying so he lowered his voice. "K...Kagome?" He asked hesitantly. Kagome took a deep breath, trying to keep her voice from shaking too much. "I heard what you said to Kikyou...it seems that you have already made up your mind...." She trailed off.

"Kagome, it's not like that..."

"You're lying," she said softly.

"No I'm not! I'm just trying to fulfil a promise I made ...a long time ago...don't you get it? I no longer care for her the way I used to...not since that time when she tried to...." He found it rather hard to continue.

"To kill you?" She asked. Kagome seemed a little happier than before. "Yeah... believe me Kagome...I wouldn't lie to you...I care for you too much..." He told her.

"Do you really mean what you just said Inuyasha?" She asked, blushing. He hesitated, then gave a slight nod.

"I thought you might wanna know... I would never try to hurt you, no matter what. Even if you choose Kikyou, I'll always be there for you." Kagome said. He looked at her. He has never been this close to her before. She reminded him so much of Kikyou but...her eyes shone with love and kindness (much like Kikyou 50 years ago) but now, Kikyou's eyes showed none of these. They were cold and filled with anger. Inuyasha knew that Kikyou still yearns for him but he wished that she could just let true feelings show. Kagome moved closer. `Forget about Kikyou...Kagome needs you more....' He told himself firmly. He bent down and kissed her gently. `Goodbye...Kikyou'
