Sesshomaru landed on the balcony and walked quietly into his room. Carefully so as not to cause her pain Sesshomaru lowered Kagome to the bed. He just stood there for a few minutes studying her sleeping form. With a sigh of reluctance he gently shook her awake.

Kagome stirred and instantly regret the action. Her muscles were still incredibly sore and even the tiniest movement made the pain worse. Turning her head to look at the demon lord beside her she mentally prepared herself for what was to come. ` I'm still not sure I really want to know.' She thought to herself then stamping down her fear decided to get it over with. " What exactly does this bond mean Sesshomaru?" " We are bound to each other permanently. Should one of us die so will the other. Along with that we have a strong mental link, when we wish we can sense each other's emotions and communicate telepathically. Also we can not be more than five miles apart for a period of time over one week."

After his explanation Sesshomaru waited for her to absorb the information. After about five minutes Kagome opened her moth to respond, but before a sound could escape the door to Sesshomaru's chambers came flying open. (If you're wondering what his room looks like…It looks like Kagome's only not as girly and a little more extravagant.) A very out of breath Jaken came scurrying into the room. " Me Lord," Jaken squawked. " The other lords and ladies have arrived for the meeting." " Jaken," Sesshomaru replied stiffly. " Show them to their rooms I will not be able to join them this evening." Sending a heated glare at Kagome Jaken left the room with a quiet " Yes Me lord." Before closing the door behind him.

Turing back to Kagome Sesshomaru wasted no time. " The meeting with the other lords will be held tomorrow afternoon. Since I did not have time to instruct you properly on youkai customs I will provided you a book on them for you to study tonight. You will be on time and properly dressed." That being said Sesshomaru the room not waiting for her reply.

Once he was gone Kagome was left on her own with a huge book on youkai customs that a servant had brought to her and her own thoughts. ` I know I love Sesshomaru and there's no help for that, but what am I going to do about it. With the bond after the meeting is over and my training complete I still wont be able to leave.' ` I guess I will just have to try to avoid him as much as possible.' With her mind made up Kagome got to work on study the huge book in her lap.

After what seemed like an eternity Kagome closed the book and carefully stretched her tired back. After the days events she was totally exhausted. She placed the book on the stand next to the bed and because her muscles were still sore, painfully crawled under the covers. After shifting positions for a while trying to get comfortable Kagome finally settled down and went to sleep.

After leaving Kagome alone in his room Sesshomaru had gone to his study to go over some official documents, but after a frustrating hour he finally gave up. He just couldn't concentrate with his thoughts straying to Kagome every five seconds. Rubbing his temples to try to ward off the growing headache he pushed the papers aside, leaning back in his chair he allowed his thoughts to wander.

` Why did I save her life? I know she will be useful in the meeting tomorrow, but now I'm stuck with her permanently.' * Just admit it you love her. ` I feel no such emotions toward the wench.' * Oh ya, then why did you protect her?….Save her? " Grrrr I don't know.' * You love her and you know it. `I do not she is only human. ` * She is special, powerful, and beautiful. ` I know…………..Wait WHAT? I Do not think she is beautiful.' * Yes she is and did you forget that she isn't human anymore.

After that the voice vanished. Standing Sesshomaru left his study and made his way to the gardens. He went and sat down at the base of a cherry tree and allowed the scent of flowers and grass to calm him. Leaning back ageist the trunk he closed his eyes and tried to ignore the nagging in the back of his mind. Giving up he decided to worry about it tomorrow and went to sleep, more confused than he had ever been in his life.
