Lucifer: OK, so after a LONG break from Hearts True, Im back, I hope.
Angala: Wow, its been so long since you let me out of your head.
Lucifer: That's the way the cookie crumbles love.
Angala: grunt
Lucifer: You may notice in the later chapters that my writing has gotten darker.
Angala: The process was gradual, your plan to take over the world by making tons of people moody would have worked, had I not been here to stop you. *goes super sayian*
Lucifer: Ba! *hides*

Inuyasha opened the door loudly, calling a characteristic greeting into the house as he did so.
Inutashio was sitting on the couch, he didn't even look up. “Come here.”
Inuyasha wandered over.
Inutashio eyed the blank TV. “Wait, get the brandy. Two cups.”
Something was definitely wrong. Inutashio only let Inuyasha drink to soften some kind of emotional blow.
Inutashio poured two glasses. “Drink”
The stuff was like drinking fire. It was just getting more hideous.
The feeling of drunkenness had already set in. “Another”, said Inutashio.
The sensation was a little less this time.
Inutashio shot back his second glass before looking sadly at Inuyasha. “I have... terrible news.”
That wasn't much of a surprise.
“Your mother is-”, Inutashio stopped, seemingly having trouble wording his predicament.
But Inuyasha couldn't tell what could be so bad. Inutashio still loved Izaoi very much, but it would take nothing short of a terminal disease to put him in this state.
And the answer served only to complicate things further, coming in the form of a mistreated letter.
We have your wife, have three million dollars transferred to this account and she walks free.
There was a bank number scribbled under the message.
The drunkenness seemed to soften the blow. He turned to his father...
“Three million?”
Inutashio groaned. “I know...”, the man fell back into his chair, rubbing his eyes, “I can squeeze it out from somewhere.”
They made tense eye contact. “Inuyasha, why don't you play me a song.”
Inuyasha rushed up the stairs, returning a moment later with a guitar. He plucked one note. He plucked another. The song seemed to connect into his nervous system, he could feel the vibrations of each sound. It ended with a long, low note and Inuyasha humming along.
Inutashio gave a sigh, like he was in a relaxing a bath. “Im gonna go talk to the bank.”, he said, raising and leaving.
His world felt as though a hugh chunk had been torn from it, and his life was bleeding out.
His cell phone rang, almost giving him a heart attack. “Hello!?”, he gasped, trying to regain his breath.
“Inu-chan? What's wrong?”, rang a feminine voice, Kagome's.
“Hey.”, said Inuyasha melancholily, “Im here.”
Kagome was nice, but her personality was not what he needed at the moment, partially drunk or not.
“What's wrong?”, she asked again.
“I- Il tell you tomorrow. Im not really up to talking at the moment.”, he hung up.
It was starting to settle in. His mom was gone. The women who had raised him was gone, and might never be coming back. He bounded for the bottle of Brandy as his tears fell hot against his face. He took a swig, and another.
He was sorry he'd hung up on his friend.
The drink burned down his throat, but the bottle was nearly empty.
He flicked on the T.V. with a swaying hand and a dizzy spell, flopping onto the couch with a thud.
* * *
The bed sways were too much, after having downed the rest of the first bottle, than another from his fathers stash.
Inuyasha got to his feet, slowly, and made his way to the door. A little bird was chirping annoyingly in the corner of his screen, signaling his e-mail. It was probably Kagome.
Sure enough, it read Kagome's style:
Hey Inu,
You alive? Call me, Im itching to know.
Despite its insensitivity, it was sweet. Kagome never said too much, and preferred to stay inside and work on her engines than to interact with people. She was worried.
He quickly wrote a drunk reply (Stil agive, srory for hangging pup.) and decided to take a walk.
The warm japanese air soothed him a bit. After a while, the alcohol stopped helping, he was way too drunk.
He heard singing, it sounded a bit like his mom, but not exactly. It was nice, thick like honey. He followed it, smelling it.
He turned into a tiny ally, where a small figure was laying in the shadows. “Whos'ere?”, he called, the figure gave a start.
“G-Go away!”, that voice could be no older than a child's. “I-I mean it, leave me alone!”, it was a child, sleeping coldly in a thin sleeping bag at the end of the ally.
Immediately his mind cleared, a useful talent. “What's wrong?”, called Inuyasha plainly.
The child was crying, backing away. “Are you homeless!?”, the idea, of a child being homeless, it was sickening, and yet he was seeing it.
“Go away!”, called the boy.
“Its all right.”, called Inuyasha through the darkness, “I wont hurt you. Calm down.”
“Leave!”, the boy had run out of room, and the look of terror grew.
“Your poor boy.”, Inuyasha said breathlessly. He stopped, and started to back off. Give the boy some space. “Are you homeless?”, Inuyasha asked again.
Terrified, the boy slowly nodded.
It felt like there was a weight in his stomach, he wanted to do something to help.
“Stay here.”, shouted Inuyasha, breaking into a run.

Lucifer: Well, its done. I changed the ending of this chapter so that it was a little less tacked on.
Angala: Took you long enough
Lucifer: Its been getting harder and harder, I think its all the weed Im smoking.
Angala: Review everyone, or we kill you.
