Chap. 5

She sat back with Sango talking to some guy at the table in a back room. An uneasiness flowed through her unmistakably so she would dread ever coming to this party. Someone passed the door in a dark flurry of pant fabric and a cotton tee, drawing her attention immediately. This was a prep party, one neither her or Sango was ever meant to be at, let alone another person in black. She stood saying nothing as she stepped towards the door way.

As her eyes searched the hall for the mysterious person she noticed something else was different there seemed to be a hush over the crowd, an awe struck crowd if she could diagnose it herself. Everyone was watching down the hall someway as a flurry of pants was heard again. Her heart nearly stopped when she saw who emerged from the door gallantly smiling, and in BLACK clothing.

It must have been a sin to the preps of the high school. As his eyes scanned the crowd and landed inevitably on her, she inhaled knowing somehow it was her he was looking for. How had she known? Was it the change in clothing? The way he looked around?

She shook her head as the hall went silent and all eyes turned to her. The girls were staring at her with a hate so bright it nearly blinded her, and the boys were silent -no smiles of mischievousness. Her heart was pounding in her ears as he walked to her, and literally pinned her against the wall, both arms to either side of her head. “What do you want?” She spit at him.

“I want you to go out with me.” Inu whispered softly. A gasp went up. Kagome's brow ruffled and her knee went to his groin pushing his back against the opposite wall.

“And if I say no?” She asked daringly lifting her black lidded blue eyes to his golden ones. She saw nothing but a fascination with hers in his.

“I will only ask again.” He replied softly, noticeably uneasy with her knee so near to his manhood. She playfully pushed harder against him.

She smirked. “If I say yes?” She asked again hissing with a slight amusement in her voice this time.

He shrugged. “Then you will be my girlfriend.”

“Never to a preppy foot ball player who has never once stood up for what he believes in. I am not some girl to be pushed against a wall and demanded to be screwed. I'm not as stupid as you may think.” She dropped her knee carefully. “And I will never be associated with you.” She turned away an immediate call for Sango to be at her side. And so the older girl was, leading her out.

A hush fell on them in Sango's car. “Why did you reject him? Wasn't this what you wanted?”

“I don't know what I want.” The other girl hissed. Her eyed drifted closed, her body trembling with the effort to keep her tears in. Wasn't that what she wanted? To hold him in the center of her palm?
