Chapter Two

Poor, yet rich, but unknown

"Oh my GOD!" Kagome screeched as the door groaned open. Kagome pulled out the figure and felt his pulse. "At least you still have one. That's good." She sighed.

Her eyes opened wide as she looked at the man. He had adorable dog-ears and long platinum hair. A red haori was torn in several places and barely covered his body. He wasn't very skinny but looked very underfed and dirty she could see that just by looking at his face. "What are you?''

He opened his eyes and sat up fast. When he saw Kagome he jumped back almost sliding into a couch since the floor was covered in dust.

Kagome fell back and her eyes opened wider than a bug's. She wanted to stand up but the he got down on his hands and knees and crawled over to her like a dog would.

He bent his face down so that their noses were touching and he sniffed her. HE SNIFFED HER! There was silence for a second then Kagome gasped out "Who are you?" "Who are you?" He mimicked then sensing her anger he added, "You're not Kikiyo even though you look like her." She just looked at him with an expressionless face.

He saw her face and backed off into a corner.

(A/N: Inuyasha is going to be a bit OOC just for a tiny little while but later he will be the Inuyasha we all know and maybe even have a crush on.)

Kagome followed him and sat down even though he was a bit intimidating. "I'm Kagome Higurashi. Who are you?" She asked again. He looked at her like a lost puppy afraid of everything. "Why would you want to know?" He snapped showing off his fangs. Kagome knew he was trying to set up a tough-guy act.

"Well I would like to know who my new house mate is." Kagome winked at him making him scrunch away. "I'm Inuyasha Irazi." He said trying to look away from her.

Kagome gasped "You're the guy who disappeared 50 years ago aren't you. Shouldn't you be older? Tons of people think you are dead!" Inuyasha shook his silver laden head. "Not dead. Though I wish I was."

"It's the curse Kikiyo put on me. It stops me from growing older." "I don't understand will you tell me from the beginning?" She asked. Inuyasha nodded and took a deep breath.

"I guess from what you said 50 years ago I was betrothed to a girl by the name of Kikiyo, she looked so much like you. Anyway I didn't want to marry her so that's when I decided that the only way to stop the wedding was to kill her. I told my best friend, Miroku about this and he agreed to help me. Kikiyo somehow found out and asked a warlock by the name of Naraku to put a curse on Miroku and I. I used to only look like this on full moons but now it's the other way around. Miroku somehow only got half of it and deflected the other part. The second part of the curse was that we wouldn't grow older until we each got a women to love us truthfully." Inuyasha tried to stop the tears but couldn't.

"Oh I'm so sorry but why were you in the wall?" Kagome asked touching his arm in a gesture of friendliness. "I've never seen the outside of this house. Father always kept me in here since he really didn't like me being around humans. I was apart of a family of Inu-Yoaki. He would beat me up then stuff me in there and not let me out barely ever feeding me so I had to learn to eat rats and mice." Inuyasha sniffled.

Kagome was a bit disgusted but went on "Well this house has been empty for 50 years and that's how long you've been here so why didn't you leave?" Kagome asked.

"It's been empty?" Inuyasha looked at Kagome and she nodded stiffly still not understanding. "I never knew. After a few excape attempts I learned not to come out until some got me out. I forgot what year it was and just stayed still. I guess when father found out what happened to me and what I had done to Kikiyo he must have decided that I wasn't safe to be around anymore so he locked me in the wall and left." Inuyasha choked out.

Kagome couldn't bare this story and decided to change the subject. "Do you know where your friend is?" "Nope. I haven't had contact with any other beings other than rats and mice. But I still want to know why you aren't running from me." Inuyasha said looking Kagome up and down then noticing her eyes looking at his ears. He smirked and bent his head down slightly as if teasing her.

"Do you want to touch them. I'll let you but only if you tell me why you aren't scared of me like most were. Even the rats were afraid of me." Inuyasha said as the hand that was getting ready to touch his ears stopped.

"You really don't give me any reason to." Kagome said and Inuyasha head dropped farther down.

Kagome rubbed the soft flesh and noticed that his hair was in tangled and horribly dirty like the rest of him. She grabbed his hand and pulled him up. "Come on. I want to get you cleaned up I think the lady from the agency said the bath still works." She laughed at the look he gave her.

Here is the deal since Paeru just came into our family and has never had a permanent home. We are trying to get him out and about and since I am now his adopted elder sister I have to teach him all about Green River and that means taking him around town with me. That means not a lot of time to spend typing except for late at night.

He actually isn't that annoying just a little confusing when he starts to blabber out in Japanese nonstop. My friend, Tamantha says she scares him a bit but he is very adorable.

At the end of some chapters I might talk with Paeru or I might tell what he did on that day. The thing I like the most about him is that he actually likes Inuyasha also!
