Chapter 5
I do not own Inuyasha.
Rin walked alongside Sesshoumaru happily, stopping here and there to pick flowers--just like old times. Sesshoumaru was deep in thought, even though he was just as alert as usual, and he seemed to be having an inner argument with himself. Only Rin noticed though, to Jaken and anyone else he looked as cold as ever. Smiling she asked quietly, "Is something the matter Sesshoumaru-sama?" Sesshoumaru looked down at her and replied, "Nothing, Rin." Rin smiled encouragingly and Sesshoumaru resisted the urge to say something strange. It still surprised him that she could so easily read his emotions. She always knew what he was feeling and everytime she'd smile with those warm chocolate brown eyes and full pink lips. Rin tentatively offered one of her pretty flowers to him which he simply looked at. Finally he accepted it and tied it beside his katana. Seeing as he was Lord Sesshoumaru, it didn't matter what he did. If anyone said anything he'd simply kill them. Easy enough to do, and it would help him relax too.
Rin was getting tired, and her cramps were acting up again. She wouldn't say anything though, it would pass eventually. She bit back a whimper when they suddenly increased dramatically. She pretended to adjust the pink robes, while actually rubbing her tummy, hoping it would help. She felt slightly nauseaus but it was only so far away, and the doctor would help her. Sesshoumaru picked up on her distress, he could sense it. Although he couldn't smell her, which felt weird. He was used to her familiar, clean, floral fresh scent around him. "Are you in pain, Rin?" he asked, as stoic as ever. Rin waved him off, "No, Sesshoumaru-sama. I'm perfectly fine." He knew she was lying, there were tiny beads of sweat glistening on her forehead. He stopped walking and waited. Rin chuckled nervously and said, "Well...maybe just a little, Sesshoumaru-sama. My tummy kind of aches..." He walked over to her and picked her up carefully. "Jaken," he called out. "Meet me at the village. I'm taking her to the doctor now." "Wha?! Sesshoumaru-sama, wait for--!" Sesshoumaru was gone. Rin loved being held by him, it was so comforting and...something else. It made her feel odd.
Ofuda yawned. He was getting bored. He wasn't getting anyone worth fucking. Just old people and babies with guardians. He faked politeness, took care of them and sent them packing, or left. Sometimes they visited him, or if the patients were too weak, he saw to them at their homes. He was walking home from Mr. Tamada's--an elderly, ugly man--when he saw a blur of white stop directly in front of him. He jumped back and looked up into the most beautiful face he'd ever seen. "Are you the doctor of this village?" the radiant youkai asked. Those marking could only mean youkai heritage. Ofuda smiled and replied, "Yes I am. May I help you?" The silver-haired youkai gently placed down a girl who Ofuda hadn't even noticed was there. She smiled and then winced and clutched her stomach. "Could you help me, sensei?"
Years of practice kept Ofuda from showing shock. He viewed the familiar, but now older girl respectfully. After all, a friend of any youkai was dangerous. He offered her his arm and replied, "But of course. Right this way." The drop-dead gorgeous youkai turned and began to walk away. "I'll be by later, Rin." Rin! Ofuda concealed a vicious smile of malicious delight, his assumption wasn't wrong. As he led her away he remarked airly, "How strange, I used to know a young girl named Rin--she looked identical to you. Oh, but she went missing years ago. Terrible thing, the wolf youkai, you know." Rin giggled. "You did? That's wonderful, maybe you can tell me what I would like to know then."
Kohaku sighed. Sango had sent him to on a quest to find Inuyasha. She hadn't said why, said she'd explain later. He'd been travellling for a while now and was quite tired. On the way he'd been attacked by some spider youkai and well...He needed to see a doctor. It wasn't too bad, but it would slow him down if it wasn't looked at. He sighed with relief now, the huts of a village were just ahead of him. He limped to the closest person and asked where he could find a doctor. With relief he was told it was close by and he thanked them and went to his appointed destination.
Ofuda smirked and began to close the door as Rin walked innocently into his home. He took two steps away from it and there was a gentle knock. With a curse he opened it and admitted a handsome young man, bleeding sluggishly from a wound on his leg. He raised an eyebrow apprasingly and welcomed him. As the boy walked in, Ofuda admired the blood staining him and his cute butt. Not that he noticed the boy's gaze find Rin and gasp. She turned and gasped in recognition too. "Kohaku-kun?! Oh my! You're bleeding!" Ofuda patted a seat and gestured for Kohaku to seat. "You wouldn't mind, would you Rin-san?" Rin shook her head vehemently. "No, not at all, sensei-san."
Kohaku smiled at Rin reassuringly, "Dont worry, it's a light wound." Ofuda looked it over carefully, running his hand slyly up Kohaku's leg and thigh. Kohaku jumped slightly but the doctor raised an eyebrow. "Something the matter?" he inquired. Kohaku grit his teeth and gave him a fake smile as he replied, "Not in the least bit." "Alright, I'll have you fixed in a moment." He cut away the cloth from the wound and poured a disenfectant over it. Kohaku didn't flinch. He cleaned it, sewed it and patched it all in a matter of moments--his hands 'accidentally' straying here and there. He smiled kindly and got up to make a herbal tea for both his patients.
Rin thanked him and sat down. "What is it you wanted to know, Rin-san?" Ofuda asked curiously. Rin sipped her tea and then said, "I want to know who I was. I was wondering if you knew about my past. What I did? Who my parents were? Why was orphaned? I just seek knowledge. The Rin you knew, was me. I was hoping...maybe you knew?" Ofuda chuckled, "I thought I recognized you. My, have you gotten older!" Rin finished off her tea, and Kohaku did too. Ofuda smiled coldly. "How's Mana faring, dear little Rin?" he asked. Rin looked shocked, "What?" Ofuda grinned and counted to ten. Both Kohaku and Rin collapsed. Smiling, Ofuda sat down and flicked his hair out of his face.
