Chapter 14
I do not own Inuyasha.

"Once upon a time, the rinji riko ruled the earth. The gods had heaven and hell, the rinji riko had earth. Out of boredom the gods created humans and demons and they became our playmates and pets. After time, we too started experimenting. A particular tribe was mixed with rinji riko, youkai and ningen. They were the most powerful clan there was, they rivalled even the power of the gods. We dubbed them the koi. They were called the koi because we created them with love. Jealously, the gods destroyed every single one and out of spite caused the youaki to turn on everyone else and then turn themselves into the rulers of the ningen. That was no how it was supposed to be, we were creating a world of perfect harmony again when the gods interrupted. The equality was shattered and the peace went down in flames. As the rinji riko began to disappear we made one last, feeble attempt to save ourselves and created six koi. Rin is a direct descendant, and I am her guardian. When Mana was removed from Rin her true shape was revealed. Mana was placed in Rin to make her look entirely human, because her human blood wasn't enough to give her the full image. The years of waiting are finished. The other five were all killed when they bloomed, and Rin's descendants could never fully mature because they were tainted." The light pulsed and the descriptive screen Hatsumi had been holding melted back into her hands and the purple light sank into Rin.

Sesshoumaru picked up Rin and began to walk away. Mana rushed forward and demanded, "Where are you going with her?!" Sesshoumaru ignored her and walked past her. Mana clenched her hands into fists and tried to quell her rabbit-paced heart beat. Sesshoumaru scared her. Kamui held up Hatsumi as she regained some of her awareness. Hatsumi hugged Kamui, still vibrating from the excess energy the guardian had left in her. Kamui kissed her forehead comfortingly, as she tried to control the shaking. "Sesshoumaru-sama? What are you going to do with Rin?" Hatsumi called out. He ignored her too, and Kamui rubbed Hatusmi's back. "He's thinking, love. I'll ask him later, when you're well rested and she's awake. Be patient okay?" Hatusmi nodded and yawned, letting her body relax into Kamui's hold.

Mana walked behind Sesshoumaru silently. She coughed and asked, "Do you think she'll change completely when she wakes up?" His energy swirled around angrily as he turned cold eyes towards her. "You dare follow me?" he asked softly. Mana gulped and stepped back. "I can't abandon Rin, I love her more than anyone else in the world ever will and she's more precious to me than anything," she answered. Sesshoumaru had turned away during her small speech and was walking again. Mana muttered obcenities under her breath and cursed him a hundred different times with ire.

Rin's head pounded and her body felt alien to her. She opened her eyes and looked up into the darkened sky. It was beautiful. Her eyes could pick up every single detail now. She shifted her gaze around, she spotted Sesshoumaru resting against a tree, eyes closed and breathing even. She sniffed tentatively, receiving his unique scent like an overpowering aura, it made her mouth drool. Someone else was with them, she sensed. The scent was softer and sweeter; Mana. Rin sat up, soundlessly stalking over to Mana, who lay close to Sesshoumaru. Rin smiled and lay beside her, holding her hand as she went back to sleep.

Sesshoumaru felt her presence become alert and he heard her sniff and move towards him. With a small pang of something, he realized she was laying next to Mana. He watched through slitted eyes and admired how her small wings, grew enormous and covered her and Mana tightly, like a soft, downy blanket. It was an unintentional action, that occured when she had fallen back asleep. It seemed, when she was not using her new wings, they shrank and became cute little chibi-like wings. Her tail had started out as a small mass of black hairs and had turned into a foxes every puffy dream. It had turned white at the tip and was still as curly as ever but looked properly shaped now. The rest of her was covered, and he couldn't wait to see her in the morning. But, he could wait.
