Is this desirable treasure worth risking your life?

Hidden near a stream of silver.
It’s as bright as the morning sun and covered by the Antarctic air.
Yet caution must be taken.

For a fierce beast guards it well.
The gold dust surrounds a bottomless hole.
The darkness conceals the danger.
It strikes at those who near its prize.
With only death on its mind.

It’s sought by all but found by one.
For the raging beast is calmed by none.
None except for a small child’s hum.
