“I hope you don't mind I brought my friends along,” she said with an innocent smile.

 

“I don't…” Kikyo hugged him while she let out a little happy squeal. `but I bet my brother will freak out.' he mentally added and gulped.

 

“That's why I love you,” she smiled and kissed his cheek.

 

“Hey, I'm here to have a good time not to watch you two kiss… let's party!” Kagura shouted and grabbed her brother's hand to dance.

 

Inuyasha closed his eyes hoping that what just had happened was part of a bad dream, he closed his eyes for a second hoping everything would disappear but when he opened them again Kagura and Naraku were still on the dance floor. He stared at Kikyo with his face fuming with anger and although he tried his best not to show it, Kikyo suddenly vanished her smile.

 

“I'm sorry Inu,” she said and he sighed, he kissed her forehead softly.

 

“Kikyo, I told you they weren't invited.” Inuyasha whispered on her ear.

 

“I know but I decided to invite them…” he sighed heavily and she smiled. “Besides, I doubt your brother will even notice them.” she kissed him at the cheek and left to dance with Kagura.

 

“That's not the point!” Inuyasha screamed furiously.

Kagome and Sango were still at her house, when Sango had arrived Kagome was still with her school clothes and she told Sango that she needed some help to know what to wear. Kagome had tried 10 different skirts, 20 different pants and 32 different tees and tank tops. Sango had learned her whole closet that night and was ready to kill her friend for being so nervous about a stupid party.

 

“What about this one?” she asked to Sango showing her a black dress.

 

“For the thousand time, wear what you want I don't really care… God! Why are you making such a big deal about your clothes?!?” her friend asked annoyed.

 

“I just wanted to look nice…” Kagome answered totally calmed trying not to make her friend angrier.

 

“For who? Kouga isn't gonna be there and besides the only ones you know at that party are Miroku and Inu…” Sango stopped and thought for a few seconds. “Were you trying to look nice for Inuyasha?”

 

“No! Of course not! He's… my friend” Kagome answered blushing and Sango rolled her eyes.

 

“Seriously Kagome… were you?” she sighed defeated.

 

“Well… it's true that since Kouga has been away I have started to spend more time with Inuyasha and I accept that he's a very good friend and… that maybe he is attractive… as a friend!” Sango gasped with a big smile gracing her lips.

 

“Yeah... right! The next thing you are going to tell me is that Naraku didn't kill Onigumo… please Kagome! If you like him, just say it!” Kagome refused to tell her friend something she wasn't very sure about, she blushed at the thought of actually being in love with him.

 

“No, I don't like him… he's just a friend!” Kagome folded her arms and Sango grinned.

 

“If you admit it I'll help you pick your outfit.” she turned around to see the malicious look on her friend's face and sighed.

 

“How will you know I'm not lying?” Sango laughed.

 

“Because you always tell the truth.” Kagome closed her eyes for a second and answered.

 

“Okay… I like him, but that's it! You can like anyone… like a movie star, or a pop singer or I don't know… your next door neighbor… that's it, it's a stupid crush that will eventually go away.” Sango squealed delighted.

 

“See? Was that so hard? Now let's focus on your outfit, um……. I think the green tank top that has those kind of blue stitches will look perfect with a jean skirt.” Kagome hit her head with the back of her hand.

 

“Why didn't I think of that?” Kagome took the clothes Sango just mentioned and went to her closet to change.

Inuyasha was always keeping an eye on Naraku, `I'm sure that if I turn around for one second he will have killed half the people here.' He convinced himself and kept on staring at him. Kikyo noticed his intense stare and thought he was actually jealous, she smiled on her inside. `Inuyasha will freak out after this, ha' she thought as she asked Naraku for a dance. Inuyasha immediately turned green eyed and that confirmed his doubts, definitely there was something going on between Kikyo and Naraku. Inuyasha immediately took Kikyo away from Naraku. As he was dancing with her he saw Miroku with Sango so he thought maybe Kagome was already there, he smiled and walked away but Kikyo grabbed his hand.

 

“Inu… where are you going?” she asked and he smiled.

 

“I'm getting something to drink and… I think you can enjoy this night with your friends,” Kikyo smiled and kissed his lips softly before walking towards Naraku and Kagura.

 

Inuyasha smiled and started walking hoping to find Kagome. Although it took him for a while to find her, he saw her at the kitchen talking with Rin. He felt his heart beating faster and tried to calm himself down before he actually went to talk to her. `Why am I so nervous? It's not like it's the first time I'm going to talk to her…' that thought calmed him a little as he walked over to her.

 

“Hey Kagome, you made it!” he said as he smiled at her, he took at quick look at her outfit and he found it adorable, like everything else she wore.

 

“I didn't see you before, I was just talking to Rin or should I say she was telling me her summer vacations with Sesshomaru.” he nodded and rolled his eyes.

 

“She was tormenting you with that story as well? I thought I was the only one. Rin, how could you do this to me?” Kagome giggled and Rin smiled.

 

“Oh, Inuyasha you're too cute for your own good… I would date you if I wasn't in love with your big brother.” Rin pinched his cheek and Inuyasha quickly pulled away embarrassed, Kagome laughed.

 

“I'm glad you are… so Rin, do you mind if I take Kagome for a while?” she shook her head.

 

“Go ahead, I was about to check on my boyfriend. I don't want him puking on his own bed again and then start blaming everyone else… see you two later.” Rin winked at Inuyasha and he smiled at her before turning his attention back to Kagome.

 

“I'm glad you made it,” he said and Kagome smiled.

 

“You should thank Sango, if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be here right now,” she said. `Thank god!' thought Inuyasha.

 

“So… um, I… well,… would you… liketodancewtihme?” Inuyasha said between a few faked coughs.

 

“What?” she asked confused.

 

“Do you want to dance with me?” he asked gulping hard and Kagome smiled.

 

“Of course… I mean, why not?” Kagome responded and grabbed Inuyasha's hand to take him to the dance floor.

 

After they dance a couple of songs, there was this slow song and Kagome blush when Inuyasha pulled her closer to him, she placed his hands around her hips and she rested her head on his shoulder. Inuyasha smiled lightly as he felt her grabbing him tighter. `And to think I would have had this three years ago if only I wasn't such a jerk.' he thought bitterly and sighed. Kagome could hear his heart beats and noticed they were fast, she could smell the sweet aroma of his cologne impregnated on his clothes; somehow, her heart was speeding as well. The song finally came to an end, Inuyasha looked at Kagome's eyes and saw them sparkle, and he also noticed her cheeks go red. He moved closer to her, hoping this would be the perfect moment for a kiss but Kagome quickly pulled apart. Inuyasha looked behind Kagome and saw Kikyo coming to their direction.

 

“There you are… I've been looking for you… oh, Kagome, right?” Kikyo said and kissed Inuyasha on the lips.

 

“Yeah… and you are Kikyo, Inuyasha's girlfriend, right?” Kagome questioned although she was fully aware of who she was, Kikyo nodded

 

“I've been looking all over for you, I missed you.” Kikyo said between kisses, Kagome sighed.

 

“I think I should leave you alone, you two make a great couple… later Inuyasha.” Kagome said before walking away, Inuyasha wanted to kick himself but noticed something was missing.

 

“Where are Kagura and Naraku?” Inuyasha asked, turning his attention to his girlfriend.

 

“They are dancing; I thought the last song was somehow a song I'd like to dance with my boyfriend.” Inuyasha noticed Kagome had disappeared from his sight and sighed. “Or I could go back and dance with Naraku…”

 

“Like hell you will, come here.” Inuyasha pulled her into his embrace and Kikyo giggled as they slowly moved to the rhythm of the song.

 

Although he was very angry for his girlfriend interrupting his time with the person he truly wanted to be, Inuyasha turned out having a great time with Kikyo. It was one of the reasons he actually fell in love with her, Kikyo was always trying to have fun no matter where she was and Inuyasha enjoyed how she would make him do things he didn't want; it didn't matter if he didn't want to do it because he knew he would force himself to like them just so he could make her happy. After a long time dancing and laughing, Kagura came up to Kikyo and started talking and Inuyasha heard someone calling for him.

 

“Hey Inuyasha! Come over here! Quick!” Miroku yelled across the room.

 

“I'll see you later Kikyo,” he kissed her cheek softly and she nodded as she kept on talking to her friend.

 

“What?” Inuyasha asked a bit annoyed and Miroku pointed to the kitchen.

 

“I thought you might be interested on the fact that Kagome has been talking for the last half an hour with that guy over there.” Inuyasha followed the direction of his finger and saw Kagome sitting on a table talking with another guy, he scoffed.

 

“Hojo? What's she doing with a creep like him?” he mumbled.

 

Inuyasha walked inside the kitchen followed by Miroku. Hojo was suddenly with his arm around Kagome's waist as they laughed and had a few drinks. Hojo had brown hair; it was like the color of chocolate. Inuyasha always thought that Hojo was kinda cool due to his pranks to the teachers and other students. One time, Inuyasha paid Hojo to put a frog inside of Kagome's locker but she never found out because Hojo got the wrong locker “accidentally”. They stood on the door frame and Inuyasha felt his blood boil in anger.

 

“They kinda look good together,” Miroku said and Inuyasha punched his arm. “Ouch! What?”

 

“Jerk… I'm gonna make him disappear right now, what kind of idiot invited him anyway?” Inuyasha asked and Miroku rolled his eyes.

 

“You did.” he shot him a look.

 

“I'm getting him as far away from Kagome as possible and I'm starting by cutting off his arm.” Inuyasha hissed and before he could a step towards Kagome he heard someone puke. “Mother fu…”

 

Inuyasha walked away with a mop to clean the mess someone else had let out in his living room, meanwhile, Kagome was happily sitting with Hojo as he retold one of his many jokes.

 

“And we got Miss Kaede's dress and placed it in his locker and since he didn't have anything else to wear he had to go out of P.E. with that dress… the whole school was laughing at him.” Hojo told Kagome as she laughed uncontrollably.

 

“I can't believe you did that! That's so mean… but yet so funny!” Kagome said as she kept giggling, Hojo softly caressed her cheek.

 

“You know Kagome, when you smile it seems like there is no one besides us in this room.” Hojo said as he approached to her lips.

 

“That's very sweet…” she grabbed a glass next to her and placed it between them. “You want a drink?”

 

“No,” he said and pushed away the cup; Kagome quickly stood up and went away from his lips.

 

“Well, I do and it turns out that this was empty… I'll go get one.” she was walking away when Hojo grabbed her hand.

 

“No, I'll bring something for you… what do you want?”

 

“A glass of water please,”

 

“I'll be right back.” Hojo winked at her and she sighed relieved.

 

Kagome looked around and made sure Hojo wasn't near sight and took the opportunity to walk away from him, she kept her eyes behind her in case Hojo might see her and suddenly crashed against someone. She nearly fell but a pair of strong arms pulled her up and Kagome blushed furiously when her dark chocolate orbs met his gorgeous amber ones.

 

“Found you,” Inuyasha said and she smiled.

 

“I thought you were still dancing with Kikyo,” he sighed.

 

“I don't look like I'm dancing right now, am I?” Kagome giggled and he smiled. “Forget about that, will you meet me at my room by midnight?”

 

“What for?” she asked and he rolled his eyes.

 

“Will you just be there?” she sighed and nodded, he smiled. “See you then,”

Inuyasha had plans for him and Kagome, after noticing how much it bothered him to see her with someone else he knew it was the right time to break up with Kikyo. It would be even more painful for Inuyasha if Kagome left him for Kouga. Inuyasha had been looking for Kikyo for about an hour; it was almost midnight if he couldn't find her he would have to tell Kagome something different from what he was planning. `If I don't break up with Kikyo tonight, Kagome is going to leave with Kouga… he's coming out of the hospital tomorrow and then… what will be of me? What if I break up with Kikyo but then Kouga just walks in and take Kagome from me?' Inuyasha sighed again and turned his attention to a group of people who were howling for a girl dancing on his coffee table. The girl was a cute red head making exotic, sensual moves. Inuyasha shook his head, he couldn't let any bad drinker do something she would regret so grabbed her and placed her on a couch.

 

“Hey, you okay?” he asked and she shook her head.

 

“I think I'm gonna throw up again,” Inuyasha smiled.

 

“So, you're the one who left me that beautiful present on the living room floor? Your vomit was hard to clean, you had way too much to drink.” she looked up at him and he finally recognized her. Inuyasha shook the girl lightly and he finally recognized her. “Ayame? What are you doing here?”

 

“Oh God! Why does everyone think I can't have a good time?! It's like… like…”

 

She threw up right in front of him; he looked at her disgusted but grabbed her hair to avoid it getting dirty. He patted her back until she was done and then she laid back in the couch. He grabbed a tissue from a tissue box he kept under the couch and cleaned her mouth. Inuyasha went to the kitchen to get a mop to clean again what Ayame let out and he sighed.

 

“You missed a spot,” Miroku said and Inuyasha looked up.

 

“Yeah… you want me to clean your face too? It's seems dirty to me,” Inuyasha smiled and Miroku rolled his eyes.

 

“Why are you playing housekeeper when you should be breaking up with Kikyo?” Inuyasha sighed and went to leave the mop at the sink.

 

“I can't find her; by the way, what time is it?” Inuyasha asked as he cleaned his hands.

 

“It's passed midnight… why?”

 

“Fuck! I told Kagome to wait for me at my room… I have to go,” Inuyasha dried his hands on his friend shirt and ran towards his room.

 

Inuyasha ran upstairs and almost tripped when he got to the last stair but seeing the girl of his dream was just there waiting for him, Inuyasha pretended he jumped. Kagome smiled at him and he grabbed her hand.

 

“So… what's that important thing you wanted to tell me?” she asked and he smiled nervously.

 

“Oh… well, I need to talk to you in private so…” Inuyasha opened his room and found two people kissing on his bed.

 

“Hey get a room! And by that, I mean another one!” he said as he turned on the lights of his room.

 

Inuyasha took a look closer to the girl who was making out; she turned to look at him and froze when she realized that he was just standing there.

 

“Inuyasha!” Kikyo said as she pulled away from Naraku.
