Hijacked Honeymoon

Epilogue

One year later

Kagome smoothed the bodice of her wedding dress before her mirror. Who would have thought that Dr. Ni-Ru Higurashi would be taking time out of his busy schedule to walk his daughter down the aisle? Certainly not her. But in the year since they'd met, a bond had formed. Her father might let weeks go by between phone calls, he might have only flown to Alabama once; but she'd gone to visit his at his laboratory. He was now part of her life and she part of his.

However, her father was not the most important man in her life. Sesshomaru Chikarou held the spot of honor. Though she'd been slow to commit to love and marriage, Sesshomaru's steadfast believe in her, his willingness to back up her plans to finish school had won her over. Looking back on the past year, she realized that Sesshomaru and she were meant for one another.

Sesshomaru was the right man. Yesterday. Today. And tomorrow.

With a smile of happiness, Kagome walked down the aisle beside her father. Up ahead waited Sango, her eyes approving. That her best friend liked Sesshomaru made Kagome feel doubly certain that agreeing to marry him was the best of decisions.

Warm and tender, Sesshomaru's eyes never left hers, sending a special shimmy straight through her. She didn't know how she'd gotten so lucky to have this man's love, but she intended to cherish him always. She might have been slow to come around to admitting to herself that she loved him, but she couldn't have been more certain of her feelings. She loved Sesshomaru with all her being and couldn't imagine life without him.

“You look good enough to eat,” Sesshomaru whispered as he took her arm.

“Sesshomaru?”

as she blushed, eager for their wedding night, he chuckled knowingly. “It's okay to want me, sweetheart. I love you.”

she would never tire of hearing those words. And not she could say them to him freely, without reservations, her heart happy and full.

“I love you, too. Now shut up and marry me, darling.”
