Inu Yasha probably won't trust Himeko anymore. Lareia 'betrayed' Kikyo... or attempted to. Naraku tells Himeko the truth and sets her task to a time limit...Now, they're off to the river.

"Himeko's grandmother was one of Kikyo's allies until she betrayed Kikyo. 60 years ago... Kikyo and Priestess Lareia were close friends, always fighting side by side. Lareia was a priestess who was not known because she dressed like a warrior. One day, Kikyo received the Shikon Jewel and Lareia grew jealous that she was not chosen. Within days, Lareia changed quickly- stealing from villages, murdering people and feared among demons and villagers. Soon she met with Kikyo again. Kikyo tried to purify Lareia but it did not work. Lareia escaped from becoming pure as Kikyo. When she disappeared, she was never seen again. Some say she died by being overwhelmed with evil. Others say she joined Naraku in plan to kill Kikyo but was declined of assistance, so suicide she chose" Kaede said.
Everyone looked at Himeko as she looked into the fire's blaze. “My grandmother did not betray Kikyo… she never did… she was just jealous that she was not chosen and that is correct. She never killed or hurt Kikyo. Kikyo was her best friend and she would never hurt her, evil or not” Himeko defended her family’s name.
“That may be true but no one knows for sure…” Kaede sighed and started to grind some herbs in a small area.
Himeko stood up and walked outside of the hut. She turned away from everyone passing by and sat down. She pulled her knees to her chest and buried her head. Slowly she felt the hot tears drown her eyes and slip. She then let go of all consciousness holding her. She felt a presence possess her body and soon she found herself in a forest. Her mind returned. She looked around and saw nothing but the same thing at every inch.
“NARAKU” Himeko whispered.
“Give me her shard…” he commanded.
“I don’t have it, Naraku” Himeko told him.
“I will send Kohaku to trace after you in 4 days. If you have not yet retrieved it, you will regret it” he told Hime.
“Naraku, what happened to Lareia” Himeko asked.
“She came to me to kill Kikyo. But I did not know of who she spoke… so I killed her” he answered and disappeared.
Himeko grew light-headed and woke up in the village, passed out in the pathway.
“Lady Kaede! The girl from before! She’s woken!” a child called the priestess.
“Himeko, are you alright?” she asked as two men brought her up to her feet. Himeko gave a weak nod and then fell forward.
Himeko then woke up in the hut. She sat up.
“He killed her” she spoke. Inu Yasha with Miroku then entered the hut.
“Who killed who?” Sango asked as she looked at Kaede.
“Naraku killed Lareia” Himeko said with no tone.
“I’m sorry” Kagome felt terrible.
“How do you know this?” Miroku asked.
“I’m sure of it. Don’t question me! I can TELL he killed her!” she shouted and sighed.
“What do you mean you can tell?” Inu Yasha suspected.
“I… I… don’t know…” she said. Shippo ran to Himeko’s side.
“It’s ok, you can avenge her death, just like Inu Yasha is going to do” Shippo told her. Himeko nodded but Inu Yasha was not to fond of that. Himeko laid down and turned away from them, shutting her eyes, but not asleep.
“I don’t trust her” Inu Yasha spat.
“Why?” Kagome questioned.
“She-” Inu Yasha was interrupted.
“Because she ‘betrayed’ Kikyo right? Inu Yasha, we’re tired of you always using Kikyo as the excuse. Himeko had a point today, Lareia didn’t actually betray Kikyo. Kaede had a mishap with words” Miroku defended her.
“What’s it to you, Miroku? You forgot to ask her the question” Sango inched away.
“That’s right… What a shame…” Miroku said as he went to sleep like the others.

“They went to Kagome’s era for a few days” Shippo answered.
“Oh… well… what are we going to do now?” Himeko asked.
“We could always go by the river, just to see” Miroku suggested.
“Yeah, that’s a great idea” Sango mentioned. She smiled. Shippo and Kirara walked side by side, leading the way to the river… On their way to meet something they did not expect.
