Hitchin' a Ride: Chapter Twelve

“What do you mean?” Miroku asked.

 

“What do you mean, `What do I mean'? I just told you that that asshole is fucking following us and he knows where we are! He might be looking at us with that fucking ugly ass smile saying `Oh they are so dumb'!” Kagome exclaimed.

 

“Well I got that part,” Miroku said flatly under his breath.

 

Kagome felt like kicking something until her foot ached so bad that she couldn't move it. And that something was Naraku's head. She wanted to repeatedly kick it until he was dead and bleeding. Or shoot him. That would work too, but really to take out her anger she would have to physically hit him.

 

“Maybe,” Inuyasha said, “him knowing where we are isn't as bad as it sounds. We were looking for him after, now right?”

 

Kagome never thought of it like that. But still the fact that he watched them have sex made her stomach churn. She nodded to let him know she was paying attention.

 

“Well then why don't you call him back, lure him somewhere, and then I go and arrest him? That would work, now wouldn't it?”

 

Sango looked to Kagome through the rear view mirror. She looked really upset but agreed. “Okay, I'll do it.”

 

“Wait a second here!” Sango said. “I don't think Kagome should go out around him! He's dangerous!” When Kirara heard her loud, angry tone she hissed.

 

Inuyasha had forgotten about the cat and almost jumped when he heard it's powerful hiss. “Sango, keep your cat quiet. It almost gave me a fuckin' heart attack!”

 

She paid no mind to Inuyasha. “Kagome, you can't.”

 

“Yes I can! And I will. I don't want my brother hurt and I'm not living under government protection! He's goin' down, and I'm taking him there.”

 

“But—”

 

“No `ands', `ifs', or `buts' about it. I'm gonna take that bastard down.”

 

“Okay,” Sango said in clear defeat. “But you have to be careful. I'm helping you.”

 

“The more help I have, the easier it will be,” Kagome said, excepting the offer.

 

“I'm in too, now,” Miroku voiced. He looked to Inuyasha. “What about you?”

 

“What the fuck do you think?”

 

“Grrr!” Kagome said. Sango laughed.

 

“Well, are you gonna call him out or what?” Inuyasha asked with aggravation evident in his tone.

 

“Okay.” She dialed the number that was on the phone from where he called.

 

The phone didn't ring twice. “Kagome, I knew you'd call.”

 

“I just wanted to tell you that if you leave my brother out of this, I will go with you.”

 

“Good, good, I knew you'd come around. Now, what brought up this sudden change in attitude? Was it Inuyasha?” Naraku asked with his usual dark voice.

 

“No, it wasn't. I want you to leave my brother alone… that's all. Inuyasha will drop me off at the Wal-Mart parking lot three miles from here, then when I call, you come pick me up,” Kagome informed him.

 

“Well that don't sound right. What if you wait until he hides in the bushes with some other FBI agents?”

 

“He won't because it will only be you and me. You've got my word on that, Naraku,” Kagome said very honestly.

 

Naraku was quiet for a moment, as if he was thinking. “Since you have always been pretty honest, I'll take your word.”

 

“Good. Now bye.” She hung up the phone.

 

“Well?” Miroku asked.

 

“He agrees. But he don't want you there,” Kagome said to Inuyasha.

 

“If you think I'm leaving you alone with that fuck then you have another thing coming,” Inuyasha barked.

 

“But I told him you wouldn't be there!” Kagome protested.

 

“But you also said that we could help,” Sango declared.

 

“That's right, Kagome,” Inuyasha agreed.

 

“You're right. But how will we do this with him following us? What if he can see us when we do it?” Kagome asked.

 

“He won't,” Inuyasha voiced, “because we'll leave and come back around a different way before he takes you anywhere.”

 

“That's a good plan,” Miroku said.

 

“But it isn't fool proof. What's Plan B?” Kagome asked.

 

“I take my gun and shoot him until he's dead,” Inuyasha said.

 

“Now that's fool proof,” Sango said.

 

“But that isn't legal,” Kagome noted. “If he isn't causing any problems then you'd have to just arrest him.”

 

“Arrest, shoot, same difference. He's a dead man anyway.”

 

Inuyasha pulled the car into the Wal-Mart parking lot.

 

“Be careful,” Sango said.

 

“Same to you,” Kagome said. She walked away and the car pulled out. Then, Kagome dialed Naraku's number and he was there almost instantly.

 

“Kagome, Kagome. You know you'll need punished…” he said grabbing her arm. He put his nose to her neck and smelled her hair. “You smell just as sweet as you did before.” Naraku didn't notice as Inuyasha's car pulled into the parking lot again, followed by two black Ford Taurus'.

 

Kagome, however, noticed. “I—I'm sorry… Naraku. I'll do w—whatever you want… just d—don't hurt m—me,” Kagome fake stuttered. Naraku believed it was real. He believed she was genuinely afraid of him.

 

He inhaled deeply. “My only regret is that I'm not your first,” Naraku said.

 

Kagome's eyes widened. Did he plan on raping her? She knew Inuyasha would save her first, though… or that's what she hoped.

 

Naraku laughed maniacally. “What?”

 

“Are you planning on raping me?” Kagome asked.

 

“No,” he answered.

 

She breathed a sigh of relief.

 

“You'll be willing once I'm finished.”

 

“That wasn't in the deal—”

 

“No,” Naraku interrupted, “it was. Alls that you said was that I would stay away from your brother; there was nothing said about me getting my way with you. And as long as your brother has that money… well lets just say his life will be Hell.”

 

“Naraku! You can't! We had a deal!”

 

He laughed. “And you think I was going to stick with it? You should feel like a fuckin' retard.”

 

And she did. She should have known it would never work. Kagome tried to believe he was just joking. She tried really hard. But she knew it wasn't true. She did feel like a fucking retard.

 

“You're an asshole! A fucking bastard! I hate your fucking guts you piece of fucking shit! Rot in HELL!”

 

Kagome got a crowd staring at them. `He won't take me if these people are watching…' Kagome thought. She decided to make a bigger scene until Inuyasha was ready to get her out of there.

 

“What kind of dead-beat asshole would hit his kid like you just did?” she shouted. `Why did I say kid?'

 

Naraku caught on to what she was doing. He played innocent. “Ma'am, I don't know what you're talking about.”

“You know damn well what I'm talking about, Dad. You shouldn't hit me so much!”

 

“I don't know you, and I don't beat you either, Kagome!”

 

The crowd gasped. “Get `im!” and “Stop that man!” was shouted as Naraku started running.

 

`Oh shit! I need Naraku so Inuyasha can arrest him!' Kagome took off running after him. She stopped when she saw Inuyasha.

 

“Why is he running?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“I pretended he was my dad and he was beating on me, and he played innocent then blew it like the dumb ass he is and they started chasing him,” Kagome retold the story in condensed form. “Why aren't you after him?”

 

“Seven of the `spectators' of your little fiasco are top agents and some of our branch's fastest runners. He won't get away with Carmen and Taylor on him.”

 

“Well that's good.”

 

“Now we need to catch up.”

 

The two took off running and caught up when the crowd stopped. Naraku had the gun pointed at a very young girl and what seemed to be her mother. “Don't come any closer pr I'll blow her fucking head off!”
