It's still a mystery how much that book contains, it will take a while to look through everything and it's good distraction and inspiration on the side run. I'm working on the next update wave but I also need time to come back on my feet, but wait and hope that in the mean time I will have something really good for you. Also don't forget to tell me what you think about my work, a single review is like heaven's answer and keeps a writer alive longer.

Chapter 1

The blow came down fast and hard. Blood stained the ground as another blow came and drove the victim to the ground. His ribs hurt as well as the rest of his body but it wasn't enough to make him pass out.

“Fucking brat. Thinking that ya are above us just because ya dad is a gangster.” The bully spat at him before delivering a kick to his stomach.

The others stood around him and looked down at him. Their leering and hated glares bore down on him just as much as the pain.

“Hey, whatcha doin'?” a voice called and the group of upper classmates ran away.

“Son, are you OK?” the man in a suit knelled down next to the teen who picked himself up to a sitting position. He ignored the protest in his ribs as he tried to clear the fuzziness in his brain. A napkin came up and whipped away the trace of blood at his split lip.

InuYasha looked up at his savior. Ibiki was a member of his fathers gang and the one of those who used to look after him when he was just a toddle. Then again all of the members of the gang was his family and they had all helped look after him when he grew up until now. They all played with him, took care of him when his parents couldn't, and showed him the world. They were all important to him and he was like a son to all of them, hence why they all called him son instead of master, young boss or any other thing.

“I'm fine. It will heal.” InuYasha said as he smiled.

“Son, why won't you let us help you. We will teach them a lesson for harming you.” Ibiki said with a hint of angst in his voice as he took in the injuries InuYasha had.

InuYasha shook his head. “I don't want violence,” he was lost in thought for a moment before he reached out his hand to Ibiki. “Beside, I don't want you to dirty your hands for my sake. You are all my important family so I don't want anything to happen to you.”

Ibiki took a hold of InuYasha's hand and helped him up to his feet. “Son, if anything bothers you I want you to tell me. The same for the rest, we will always be here for you.”

“Thank you.”

Ibiki helped InuYasha back to the house and of course there were a big commotion of extracting revenge for the harm that had befallen their “son”. InuYasha managed to stop them before anything happened and he was touched by their loyalty but he couldn't depend on them for protection all his life. He had to become the one to protect them.

It was just because one of the many members of the gang once met him at school and called him “son” and because of that it had become known quickly in school that he was a gangster son. It cause trouble for him because no other of the kids would come to him and when he came to them they ran away. He was timid and shy and lost because he couldn't at first understand why they were afraid of him. He belonged to the Taisho Gumi (Group) which were known to be the most powerful gumi around.

But what no one outside the group knew was that he was the heir of the group. His father was the Nidaime (2nd) leader of the group and that made him the next Sandaime (3rd). It was his fathers will as well as the gangs wish that he had a normal up bringing, or as normal he could have.

One of the woman in the group helped him care for his wounds and he dressed up in a kimono, it's red and white patterns of a mirage of leaves melted against his skin. He loved kimonos even at his young age. He had grown up wearing them and so did the others from time to time.

He had been raised to be proud of his family and he was. He had no regret whatsoever that he was born in a Yakuza (gangster/mafia) family even if it brought problem at school but he had to endure it. If he let something like that bother him he wouldn't be fit to take over the group when his father retired.

InuYasha took a leather thread and tied his long hair into a pony tail. It reached down to his waist and it made the woman in the house go crazy because they wanted to play with it. They enjoyed dressing him up when he was little, do his hair and put in hair decoration. They would squeal that he was cute and he would run crying to the men asking them to hide him. They would laugh and joke how cute their “little girl” were. Now that he looked back he could find the irony in it, he did look like a girl and now when he was older he still had a few features left but most of it had left long ago.

“Father, I'm home.” InuYasha said before entering the wast traditional training room. It was the place he had learned kendo. Wooden swords decorated the side of the room while there was a big mantel covering the opposite wall, the word “Strength” painted over it in strong lines with a rough touch toward the ends. The floor was shiningly clean and despite that it showed the many years of training it had endured and taught it's students.

An elderly man sat in the middle, his hair also pulled back in a tail but higher up on his scalp. He wore the traditional training blue hakama along with it's white haori. He radiated an aura of calm and strength. He was a reliable leader and a source of confidence and hope. Everything InuYasha wished to be.

“Welcome back, InuYasha.” he then frowned, “Oh, what happened?”

InuYasha smiled as he sat down respectfully before his father, his legs under him and his hands resting on his knees. “Just a misunderstanding. You wanted to talk to me, father?”

“Yes.” his face turned to a watchful one. “You will be 18 this year. It's time you took your rightful place among the family.”

“I understand father.” InuYasha said honestly. “I will not disappoint you or the family, father.”

Nidaime smiled before looking out through the open door, the open and wast stone yard that was surrounded by grass. A perfect place for outside training and dueling. His face turned to a sorrowful one. “It's almost 20 years since I met your mother. She was beautiful and graceful. I was lucky to have had her in my life.” he chuckled, “I actually asked her right out in front of her friends if she would become a yakuza wife.”

“I know, father.” he had no idea why his father was speaking about this.

“When I took over after my father he set conditions I had to fulfill before I could take over as Nidaime. It's a traditional ceremony sort of in the family that have been going long before we became a yakuza family. I want you to respect the tradition and for you to carry it on to the next generation.”

“I understand father and I'm ready.”

His father took a deep breath before he looked directly into InuYasha's eyes.

“For you to succeed me as the rightful heir of the family you have to find your eternal lover.”

InuYasha had to do a retake. “Wha--?”

“Son, you have to chose a woman to be your lover and wife. Just like your mother was to me she have to be your only love and be by your side for the rest of her life. The family is build on trust and the strong bonds of love a family share and for you to completely become on of the family, not just by blood, you have to find your “special one”.”

“But.. father!” InuYasha stuttered. “How can I-- I mean I'm not...” he bit down on his tongue to keep from saying anything more. “I understand, father.”

“Good. I have high hopes for you.” his father smiled like the sun was inside his heart.

Normally it would comfort InuYasha but right now it only made him feel more cold. “If you excuse me father I have to be going.”

“Yes, we can finish talking tomorrow when you have had time to collect your thoughts. It helped me at least.”

InuYasha rose and bowed respectfully to his father before retreating from the room, closing the door quietly behind. His feet led him to his room and when he was safely inside he stood still staring at the room emptily. He felt terrible as he changed from the kimono and into jeans and a sweater to keep him warm as he day's warmth left with the setting sun.

Funny how he felt like his heart was setting along side the sun.

“Going out?” a man asked with a scar running down his cheek. He looked scaring at first but was really a big teddy bear.

“Yeah. I'll be back before 10.” InuYasha replied as he made sure his wallet was in his pocket and the key also. He didn't want to be locked outside even if someone would always open it for him if he called.

He left the house with a few words so without letting anyone worry and follow him. He ran down the street, his sneakers making little noises as he stepped and kicked the small stones along the way.

'I'm sorry, father but I don't think I can make you proud this time.”

He stopped just a corner away from his goal, he walked the rest calmly and when he pushed open the door he came upon the familiar scene. The calming atmosphere, the dimmed light and the soft piano music playing in the background.

“Welcome.” greeted the first waiter he meet. “Rough day?” he asked when he saw the band-aid on his face and the split lip.

“Kinda.” InuYasha replied with a smile before heading toward the bar. “Hello!” he greeted cheerfully toward the bartender with his back to him.

The man in question turned around and gave a professional smile when he saw who the voice belonged to. “Hello, InuYasha. What brings a minor to a place like this each odd night?”

“Hehe. Nothing special. I was just in the neighborhood and since it's already a habit I wanted to come by. Besides....” he cast a look around the place. “I like this bar.”

“Thank you.” the bartender said as he put away a bottle of a high ranking wine. He pulled up a high glass, took out a bottle with a red liquid. With the skills of a pro he measured up the right amount directly into the glass, scooped up a few ice cubes, a lemon and sprayed sprite into the rest of the glass. He put a napkin on the counter and the glass on top to keep the droplets from falling to the surface.

“Non-alcohol.” he said with a calm face. He took the order from another costumer while InuYasha inspected the glass.

He raised it to his lips and sipped it. The sweet but sour taste landed on his tongue but it didn't taste weird, in fact it was quiet tasty. “It's good.” he said after lowering it.

“Of course.” the bartender said with confidence. “Nothing else expected.”

“Smug bastard.” InuYasha whispered before taking another sip and watching the bartender over the rim of the glass.

The bartender was very good looking with his short white hair combed back to keep it from falling into his face, it ended just at his pale neck. His nose was well formed and his cheekbones were a little higher than his own. His eyes had a strange brown, almost golden green look under the light.

And much different he was an adult. Compared to InuYasha's long black hair that were still in a tail at the back of his neck with the shorter bangs finally escaping and falling over his forehead. His eyes were a rare golden amber which set him apart from the rest. He was still not tall like the rest of his age but then he convinced himself that he would be taller before he was 20.

InuYasha lowered the glass and took one good look openly at the bartender. The classic uniform suited him and looked crisp and clean.

He noticed that the brat was looking at him and because he just finished the drink he sat it before the costumer who accepted it gladly and walked away, leaving them alone for now.

“What?”

“Nothing.”

“For someone that say nothing you sure look like an underdog that have been beaten into submission.”

InuYasha gave him a glare before looking down at the glass, the ice clicked once as it had melted enough and came side to side.

“I have to get married.”

The bartender looked surprised for a moment. “I see. Is your coming wife beautiful?”

“I don't know. I haven't found her yet.”

The bartender looked at him strangely which made InuYasha giggle.

“It sound weird I know but it's family tradition. I have to find a woman and marry her if I want to take over the family business.” he rested his cheek on his hand. “It sucks.”

“No one said life was fair.” the bartender said thoughtfully.

“I know that but it still doesn't make it easier.” he gave a sigh and looked even closer at the glass while running a finger over the moist surface. “If only life could be easier.”

“Cheers.” the bartender said and saluted with a non-alcoholic drink of his own that he kept under the disk whenever someone tried to make him drink with them or just celebrate something. A trick he found easily done and satisfied the costumers at the same time.

One of the waiters came forth. “Sesshoumaru, some costumers are calling you.”

“I understand.” he put down the glass where he kept it hidden and looked at InuYasha. “Drink up and go home. Kids like you should be home instead of at places like this.”

“I'm 18 this summer.” InuYasha bit back offended.

The bartender named Sesshoumaru smirked as he walked around the counter. When he passed InuYasha he leaned in and whispered. “Still a brat.”

He walked away and didn't notice the shiver down InuYasha's spine. He looked after Sesshoumaru as he walked over to a table with waiting costumers who wanted his expertise in the long list of finding their favorite drink.

“It's because of you that I can't find a woman.” InuYasha whispered to himself and raised his glass in salute to Sesshoumaru and his one-sided love toward the bartender.

To be continued.
