Sesshoumaru: *shudders* You're evil
Chibi: *grins* I know!
I remember that night as if it were yesterday, the dark shadows lurking the corners, dancing across the hallways as a light breeze caused the torches to flicker. I knew something was going to happen, I could feel it all the way down to my bones. Of course I had no idea what would happen, or whether or not it would even concern me. I just knew that something would happen, and it wasn't just a routine attack. The attack had come as planned, as ridicules, as it was we really didn't have any choice but to fight. Of course you can be sure that few if any of the members of the sieges came from my Father's land. His people respected him with the highest amount of respect, he was a good and kind ruler and his people were well taken care of. Anyways, I'm getting off subject again……….the attack came and we fought, that's the basics of it, it's not a complicated explanation. Then one minute I was standing there taking care of a particularly ugly and large insect demon, Inuyasha was behind me cheering me on even though he knew perfectly well that he wasn't allowed out during the attacks. The next thing I knew I had been drug around the corner, it had come so fast………..I had expected a demon or some other powerful and speedy being, instead there sat an old man. Needless to say I stayed my hand from slaying him and stared at him curiously. Not that I trusted him or anything, but I wasn't going to take the chance of slaying an innocent old man just because he grabbed me. For all I knew he was new around here and thought that I was in trouble. For a moment everything was quite the sounds of the battle seemed to disappeared the longer I gazed into his strange dark eyes, the scent of blood tainted the air, but I didn't noticed, I was too absorbed in the moment. By the time I realized that something was wrong it was too late, I felt something stab into my side. For a moment I thought the old goat had stabbed me, but looking down told me that the object was much to thin to be a knife. The last thing I realized before I blacked out was that it had been thin chopstick, the tip pointed and soaked with poison. Of course I survived I'm an Inu-youkai! We're famous for our poisonous claws and our knowledge in the art of poison making. When I finally did wake up I had no sense of time, but the sloshing of water and gentle rocking of floor beneath me told me that I was on a boat. The old man, or actually monk I should say………..yes he was a monk, scary looking really, especially in the daylight………. Kept me knocked out for practically the entire journey. When I finally was allowed to get up and stay up, I found I was in a small hut various herbs and other strange objects that I need not go into hung from the ceiling and walls. There's not much to tell after that, I found out that I was in China……….yes China……... Thousands of miles away from my home with no idea how to get back, what could I do? The old monk, Bunjiro, had apparently heard of the child youkai born by the dark of the moon with strange powers, and wanted me for his own experiments. Trying to escape was futile, he was tricky and somehow he always managed to subdue me. So I cooperated………to an extent………my fathers always said that I would make a fine actress. So I lead him around in circles with his experiments and played the part of the scared innocent pup, while at the same time I learned his secrets, learned his tactics, and learned his knowledge. All in all that took about 100 years………..believe it or not the old goat lived for a 100 years, he probably would have kept on living if I hadn't killed him. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a cold-blooded killer or anything, but you weren't there so I wouldn't judge. He did enough poking and prodding to terrorize a poor girl to death. Mind you there were times that he scared me, he was a sick little bastard, hardly worthy of being a monk. He practiced the dark arts, and did all kinds of strange things, hopping to win my power and become one with the dark moon or something strange like that. Anyways, back to the killing………..he underestimated me and that was his problem. He thought that I had given in to him and would continue to be his little guinea pig without a problem. Guess what? He was wrong……...dead wrong………in more ways than one. After that I spent the next few hundred years fighting in a few wars, helping out a few people, working as an ambassador for a demon kingdom in the south, and trying to find a way to get home. When the old monk was still around word had reached me through a nearby inu-youkai clan that my father had died. I was heartbroken for about a year after that, nothing the monk did could rise me out of it. It was actually the thought of my brothers that kept me going, just knowing that I had family somewhere made it all seem worthwhile. Anyways, back to the real world, just so you know where we're at, I just finished telling this story to the whole group……....100 years in one and half pages.
Mika yawned a licked her dry lips, "There you have it, the story of my life………..literally."
Inuyasha looked ready to kill, "If that old geezer was still alive I'd kill him!"
Sesshoumaru's glared gave the same message with perhaps a little more pain involved
Mika smiled and mussed her brother hair, "Thanks Inuyasha, but its all taken care of. Lets forget about it, I'm just happy to be home, and from what I've heard about the problems with this Naraku guy, I think I arrived just in time."
Inuyasha stiffened a growled at the mention of the name, "You should stay out of this it isn't your fight, besides I don't need something happening to you again."
Mika raised an eyebrow at the fuming hanyou, "May I remind you who just saved who here?"
"Feh" Inuyasha stuck his nose in the air and looked away
Mika sent a questioning glance at Kagome
Kagome shrugged, "What can I say he's stubborn."
"You forgot to add idiotic and selfish." Sesshoumaru added calmly
"And you forgot a little something I told you about looking after him" Mika put in just as calmly
Sesshoumaru stiffened slightly and sent a glare at his sister who gladly returned it with equal force.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Kagome sat by the fire observing the newly reunited siblings as they "reacquainted" themselves. She had to admit she felt slightly left out, but chose to ignore it. Besides who was she to interrupt this family reunion, part of her was still in shock anyways. Inuyasha never mentioned having a sister, then again I guess it was a long time ago for him and he probably didn't want to talk about it. He wasn't big on talking about his mom either. She sighed and settled her chin in her hands propping her elbows up on her knees studying the Inu-youkai faces. In a sense they all looked similar so the family relation was obvious, they all had long silvery hair and deep golden eyes. Of course in personality they were nothing alike, Inuyasha was impatient and stubborn…………..strong………… but stubborn. Sesshoumaru was cold and calm, not to mention graceful. An image of Inuyasha rolling head of heels into a tree flashed through her head, she chuckled and gazed at the newest member. Mika was like a cross between the two, she had Sesshoumaru's calm demeanor and graceful movements, not to mention she called Inuyasha "little brother" except it lacked the usual malice that Sesshoumaru added. At the same time she had some of Inuyasha's playful and fiery spirit, and guessing from her behavior she was probably stubborn too. Aside from all that the thing that really set her apart from the "boys" was that she was kind. Kagome had observed with relief they way here eyes had softened when Shippou introduced himself and she had ruffled his hair. That kind of kindness and understanding was certainly something that Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru lacked, or at least didn't show.
"Kagome-chan?"
Kagome looked up startled and noticed that Mika was waving a hand in front of her face.
"Ah!……...oh uhm……...hi" she grinned sheepishly
Mika smiled and sat down beside her leaning her back wearily against a tree, "Daydreaming?"
"Just thinking really………..it's been a…well……...shocking day." Kagome leaned back against a parallel tree and took a swig of water.
"It really doesn't surprise me that Inuyasha never mentioned me, he was the type to do that. And well, you and fluffy over there weren't exactly on good terms."
Kagome practically choked on her water in her attempt to laugh, "Fluff….Fluffy!"
Mika grinned and winked, "Yeah I used to call him that when we were young and he aggravated me, he hates it. "
"I bet, but just the same I have to remember that." Kagome grinned wicked
Mika laughed and winked, "You wouldn't believe the secrets I could tell you about them."
Kagome smiled suddenly feeling more at ease, it was almost as though Mika had sensed her dejected thoughts. "So what's the deal with Kikyo?"
Mika frowned slightly, "Long story, I happened upon your friend Kaede on accident and she told me the story of Inuyasha and Kikyo and what's progressed since. She's also the one that told me a about Naraku…………. it seems like I wasn't the only one having a hard time." She paused and gave a weary smile, " As for Kikyo she met me just as I was leaving the village and warned me to leave Inuyasha alone. Also that she was going to drag him to hell with her, preferably without any interference from me. Naturally I didn't take that well, and I suppose it was from there that we became unspoken enemies. We exchanged a few words, which essentially ended with me threatening her that if she touched Inuyasha in any way I would personally send her back to hell in pieces. I also warned her that I would bring Sesshoumaru in if need be, I didn't know how she did things but now that I was back things were going to change. Although I have to admit, she's a very strong miko, defiantly a formidable opponent, and she's clever too. I'm not sure what's she up to, but she seems to have her own plans for the future, Naraku included."
Kagome whistled, "Wow, you told her all that. That's basically everything that I wanted to tell her and more. Unfortunately I never did and never could."
"Why is that?"
"Because Inuyasha is still in love with her, and has already agreed to go to hell with her. There's nothing I can do to stop him, he wont listen. So all I can really do is just stay by his side for as long as I can." Kagome's eyes drifted over to Inuyasha feeling the urge to cry tugging at her heart again.
Mika smiled a knowing look on her face, "Don't count on it Kagome, Inuyasha cares about you, I can see that clear as the day. And if you think that I'm going to let my little brother go to hell for something that he didn't even do, well you don't know me very well."
"Hey! What are you talking about!?" Inuyasha leaped in front of them a suspicious look on his face, "I heard my name."
Kagome looked down, "Nothing Inuyasha."
Mika smirked, "We were talking about Kikyo and how she told me that she was going to take you to hell and how I should not interfere. Thus explaining why she hates me, mainly because I threatened to send her to hell in pieces if she even tried it."
Kagome's mouth fell open in shock suddenly unable to get the words in her head to come out through her mouth.
Inuyasha's expression was similar, "What the hell does that mean! Look I don't need to argue about this with everyone that comes along, it's my fault she died so I owe her that. And I already agreed to go to hell with her………….."
"Inuyasha" Mika growled her voice suddenly dropping a few octaves and sounding a lot more dangerous than usual.
This was effectively able to shut him up……….
"Let me make something clear to you………..number one it is NOT your fault that Kikyo died so therefore you do NOT owe her anything. Yes I realize that you loved her, unfortunately this Kikyo is not the same, her soul is not entirely there! The Kikyo you loved died 50 years ago! Number two you have a whole group of people here……….one in particular………. who happen to care a lot about you and have risked their lives on various occasions to keep you alive! AND THREE! If you think for one minute that I'm going to let you even attempt to go to hell with that treacherous miko, who feels nothing but hate! You are sorely mistaken mister!" Mika sat down again after rising to her feet during her tirade and glared at Inuyasha with fiery eyes.
Needless to say the small group now consisted of a very shocked yet very pleased Kagome, and a very terrified Inuyasha who had somehow managed to make it clear to other side of the camp and was now hiding behind a very amused Sesshoumaru.
"Little brother you seem shaken." Sesshoumaru smirked
"Shut the hell up and protect me like she told you to a long time ago!" Inuyasha peeked out from his brother's back, - And I thought Kagome was scary when she was mad -
"Do you feel better now?" Sesshoumaru sent a still amused yet questioning glance at his little sister
Mika grinned, her expression completely calm as if nothing had happened, "Me? I feel great."
Turning to Kagome once again Mika took in the young girls appearance, "Kaede tells me that you're from the future, 500 years to be exact."
Kagome nodded, unsure of how to respond, "Yeah that's me. I was standing by the well one day when suddenly I get dragged in my a huge centipede demon only to end up 500 years in the past."
Mika tilted her head curiously, "That explains your attire then. It is very unusual, quite revealing."
Kagome blushed, "Erm, well yeah, I suppose I probably should wear something more………..uhm……….appropriate. (AN: Seriously……….they need to give her some different clothes! Yeash (-.-`) ) But what about you? You're clothes certainly are more revealing then the normal clothes I see here. Did you get them in China?"
"Yes, mind you it's not a Chinese cultural thing as much as it is a Chinese demon thing. The demons there wear some pretty revealing stuff, and I find them easier to move in." (AN: I had some one ask me if I was drawing a picture of Mika. I just wanted to say that I'm working on a picture right now and I'll let you know when I get it done. I'm no Leonardo Devinci it, but it should still give you an idea of what she looks like.)
Kagome nodded and yawned, the events of the day finally catching up with her
"Tired?"
"Yeah, it's been a long day." Stretching, Kagome stood up and brushed her clothes off
"Perhaps we should call it a night then." mimicking Kagome, Mika stood up and stretched
"Sounds good to…….…" Kagome trailed off a shocked and then slightly annoyed expression crossing her face. "Just great!"
Mika frowned sniffing the air, "A demon?"
Inuyasha growled, "Not just any demon, it's that no good mangy wolf!!! He's probably coming to try and win Kagome again."
Mika raised an eyebrow and glanced at Kagome, "Win?"
Kagome groaned, "Yes, Kouga the wolf demon, he seems to think that I'm his woman."
Mika turned her eyes in direction on the newcomer, "mmhmm"
It only took a about 2 seconds for the whole camp to erupt in a cyclone of dust and wind, and another 2 seconds for Kagome to already have been swept up in a bone crushing hug into the arms of a certain wolf. "Hey Kagome! Haven't seen you in awhile, how's my woman?" Kouga leaned back to get a good look at the young miko, "Has mutt-face been taking care of ya?"
"How many times do I have to tell you to keep your claws off Kagome!" Inuyasha stomped out into the open ready to kill, quaintly forgetting that he was still in human form.
"Oh yeah, and just what are you going to do about it dog-terd, you don't even have claws."
Inuyasha growled, the realization of his predicament coming back to him, "Claws or no claws I can still take you! Now let go of Kagome!"
Kagome mentally sweat dropped, - great here we go again - "Kouga really you can let me down, now really isn't a good time for this."
"Not a chance Kagome, don't even try to defend that mutt face, you're my woman and he needs to learn that."
"Now wait a minute! I don't remember agreeing to be anybody's wo………….."
Kouga effectively silenced Kagome with a swift but hard kiss, knowing perfectly well that it would rile the hanyou up.
Kagome's mouth dropped open in shock, - did he just kiss me! - Frowning she squirmed a bit trying to get loose.
"Oi Kagome relax, I'll handle this." Kouga grinned not once taking his eyes of the fuming hanyou. "I'll be sure to get rid of you this time inu……..….whoooa." Kouga conveniently found himself lifted off his feet and placed a few feet from Kagome.
"What the hell!" Kouga spun around only to come face to face with an "un-amused" female Inu-youkai
"I don't believe the lady gave you permission to kiss her. And frankly I don't like you pestering my brother when he's in human form. I would really appreciate it if you would take your sorry tail back to your tribe and finish this another time. We're really quite tired tonight." Mika stated calmly and low growl audible in her voice.
Kouga paused taking in the delectable creature before him, "Interesting, two beautiful woman before me, and one's a youkai! This must be my lucky night."
Mika raised in eyebrow at looked at him with an expression that basically said, "Are you purposely trying to get killed, or just plain stupid?"
Lucky the approach of the widely known Tai-youkai had a different effect.
"On the contrary wolf, this will be the day of your death if you ever come on to my sister again." Sesshoumaru growled, stepping protectively in front of his sister
Kouga paled drastically, he smug expression falling from his face, "Sess……….…Sesshoumaru. What a pleasure to see you?" Kouga cleared his throat nervous taking a step back, "You know, I really had no idea that she was your sister, a perfectly honest mistake I assure you."
Mika rolled her eyes and stepped forward pushing Sesshoumaru out of the way, "Look Kouga it's been a long night. Go home…………ok?"
Kouga only nodded his eyes never leaving the Lord before him, "Right." He spun around gave a Kagome a peck on the cheek and disappeared in a whirl of dust, the same way that he had arrived.
Kagome stood stunned for a moment before raising an eyebrow in curiosity, "Boy his loyalties changed quick." She glanced over at Mika and grinned
Mika smirked, "Yeah, unfortunately I think Sesshoumaru turned him off to that idea real quick." she chuckled patting her brother affectionately on the shoulder. "So he's all yours again Kagome."
"Gee thanks" Kagome rolled her eyes
"Like hell he is!! And what was with that kiss! If I didn't know better Kagome I think you enjoyed it! If that damn wolf tries that again…………."
"Inuyasha…….…" Kagome warned in a voice that sounded very much like a growl
Inuyasha paled
"SIT!!!"
