Chapter 2: Unexpected Occurrence

Sakura bowed when she was introduced to her class. She was still wearing a Private School uniform from New York. She had always liked her uniform. It was very different from the green uniform of Kagome's school. Hers consist of a white long sleeve, collared blouse, grey bow with a shimmering red gem in the middle, dark maroon blazer and a short grey pleated skirt.

"This is Sakura Higurashi," The teacher told the class. "She is a transferred student from New York City, please be nice to her."

"Ohayo," Sakura said to the class with a slight smile. "Nice to meet you all."

Sakura tried to become accustomed to the atmosphere as she listened to the teacher in class.

How different everything is here, she thought as she copied down notes the teacher had written on the board. It is a lucky thing my Japanese is still good.

She had taken Japanese as her optional subject in the States, so that she will not forget her native language. It was a good thing that it was thought by Japanese who had transferred to the States to work.

After school, Kagome and her friends had brought Sakura around. Sakura found Tokyo didn't change much since the last time she came back for a short visit a few years back. They all chatted happily and brought her window shopping and then settled in McDonald's for some snacks.

When it was time to go home, Kagome and Sakura said bye to the rest and they made their way home together.

"I hope you had a great time today." Kagome said to her cousin.

"Yes I did," Sakura smiled turning to her. "You don't have to bring me around. I still can remember the places, in Tokyo."

"Well, my friends and I don't usually go home immediately after school." Kagome explained. "So don't worry about it."

As they reached, the bottom of the steps of Higurashi Shrine, Sota came running down the steps quickly. He was breathless when he reached the bottom of the steps to meet his sister.

"Neechan…." Sota breathe heavily.

"Nani, Sota?" Kagome looked at her brother curiously.

"Inu-oniichan…" Sota began and Kagome quickly clasped her hand over his mouth and looked over to Sakura nervously.

"What's wrong?" Sakura watched both of them acting so weirdly.

Kagome laughed uneasily. "Wait here!"

Then they both dashed up the steps.

"Wait here?" Sakura repeated to herself unbelievingly as she stared at both of them sprinting their way up the steps hurriedly. "Why?"

Sakura did as she was told as she waited at the bottom of the steps. Minutes passed by and finally she sank down on one of the steps waiting for Kagome to come back for her. While she was alone, her mind drifted off again back when she was with of her family in Nagoya. Her thoughts were however disturbed by shouting at the top of the steps.

She stood up slowly blinking looking up the flight of steps wonderingly who was making the racket. She then heard Kagome's voice very clearly then, "OSUAWRI!" and then followed by a loud crashing sound. Slowly, Sakura lifted one hand to cover her mouth as she started up the steps slowly.

When she reached the top, she then saw Kagome dragging someone in a red outfit into the old hut where she knew an old well was. The door slammed shut, Sakura quickly moved over to the hut and slide opened the door to look in. She was surprised to see a bright red light illuminated from the bottom of the well. Her eyes wide, she looked around the small hut and saw that Kagome was no where around nor was that strange person in red. She moved over to the well slowly and cautiously.

What was the red light I saw? She thought slightly frightened.

Accidentally, Sakura tripped over and she found herself falling head first into the well. She didn't even have time to scream as she fell in. Shutting her eyes tight waiting for herself to hit the bottom but it never came. Instead she felt herself floated lightly and landed softly on the bottom of the well. Slowly, Sakura opened her eyes.

What just happened? Sakura thought getting up to her feet and looked up to find that she was staring at a very bright blue sky. I thought I was in a hut, I can't be seeing the sky can I?

Sesshoumaru walked though the forest with Jaken his faithful follower stopped when he felt a strange presence. He looked back then his face unemotional. He had just finished a battle from one of Naraku's detachments and was on his way back to meet Rin and Ah Aun. They were near the Inuyasha Forest.

Jaken looked up at Sesshoumaru curiously.

"Something is wrong Sesshoumaru-sama?" Jaken asked nervously looking at the Lord's very stern face.

What is this feeling? He thought. It seemed like something with great spiritual force is around.

Sesshoumaru's eyes narrowed, and made his way more quickly to Rin.

Sakura took hold of the veins that grow on the walls of the well and slowly lifted herself up. When she reached the top she was surprised to see the forest surroundings. She blinked not believing her eyes. She climbed out the well and sat on the wall looking around slowly.

"Why am I doing here?" She whispered to herself. "I have to get back…"

She turned around and looked back down the well and was shocked to see the well filled with bones. They weren't human bones because the shape of the bones looked odd and some of them very big.

"Dinosaur bones?" She said softly. "But that can't be…" She had studied about dinosaurs before; she had never come across any bones that look like that.

I can't get back, she thought slightly afraid. She didn't want to jump into the well filled with bones.

She straightened up then and looked around.

Well, I guess I just have to look for someone who can help me then. She thought and went off deeper into the forest.

"Oh soai ar Sesshoumaru-sama…" Rin said softly as she picked flowers and Ah Aun resting on the ground.

Rin busy with the flowers didn't notice something approaching her fast. When she looked around it was already too late, a huge centipede was rushing over to her.

"SESSHOUMARU-SAMA!!!!" Rin yelled then.

At that time Sakura walked into the clearing and was astounded by the scene before her. Never in her life had she seen such a huge centipede before and it was going after…

Oh my god! She thought alarmed. It is a little girl.

Without thinking Sakura dashed forward towards the girl and snatched her out of harms way. Rin cling onto Sakura as they both crashed onto the ground away from the centipede with Rin on top of her. Embracing Rin closer to her, she got up to her feet with Rin still in her arms. She looked at the centipede in fear. She nearly jumped out of her skin when Ah Aun came close to them.

"Ah Aun…." Rin cried when she saw the two headed dragon.

Sakura relax a little to know that Rin knows this strange animal… or species or… never mind. She had no idea what it was at all and now she had to worry about this extra large centipede first.

The centipede came for them again. Sakura put Rin down then.

"Run!!!!" She shouted to Rin.

Quickly Rin turned around and dashed off with Ah Aun, but unable to leave her lifesaver she stopped not far from them. Sakura turned around to face the centipede; she had to find a way to get the centipede away from the little girl. She ran off in a different direction away from Rin. It followed her.

"You dirty scumbag!" Sakura said softly. "Come get me if you can."

She was quick for she had learned Judo plus Kenpo when she was young. She dodged away from the centipede swiftly and spotted a very sharp branch near by. Sharp enough to stab the centipede. Running towards it, she flung herself forward as she skidded on the ground on her stomach towards it, grabbed it and turned around, the centipede dashed over to her with its mouth ready to bite. Sakura stabbed the stick into its mouth and at the same time one of her arms caught on one of its poisonous fangs. The stick glowed bright blue and then the centipede shattered into dust together with the stick.

Ah reh? What just happened? Sakura thought still laying on the ground.

Sesshoumaru was near the clearing, when everything happened. He reached the place on time to see the girl stabbing the stick into the centipede as the glow of blue light from her body transferred to the centipede making it shattered into dust.

So this is the spiritual force I had felt earlier. He thought coming out to the clearing.

"Sesshoumaru-sama!" Rin cried happily when she saw him running towards him.

Sakura stood up slowly holding onto the wound on her arm.

"Sesshoumaru-sama this neechan saved me from the youkai earlier!" Rin cried happily looking over to Sakura.

Sakura turned towards them and saw the most beautiful man she had ever seen. Or is he? She thought again. Suddenly she had a feeling he wasn't human at all. Even so, she walked over to them slowly and that was when she saw another thing. A small green creature next to this tall being, as quickly as she looked at the green creature, she quickly turned her attention to Rin instead.

"Daijebu kah?" Sakura said softly and knelt down when she reached Rin.

"Daijebu," Rin replied happily. "Arigatou, for saving my life."

"Your welcome," Sakura smiled softly. "Ah nor, do you know where this place is?"

"I don't know maybe you should ask Sesshoumaru-sama." Rin said cheerfully.

Sesshoumaru-sama? Sakaru thought looking up at that tall person. But she still had the strange feeling that he is not human. She stood up slowly looking at him. He had a blue crescent moon on his forehead and two red stripes on both his cheeks. Wearing clothes that she had never seen before.

Sesshoumaru studied the girl slowly. She had the most enchanting face he had seen. Knowing that she was human, the girl smelled really pleasant like flowers in spring time. He wondered why she was wearing such an odd kimono and something click in his mind. The time when he had accoutered other wearing strange clothes was the girl that hangs around with the half brother of his.

Sakura watched him uncertainly. There were no emotions what so ever on his gorgeous features. However, before she could open her mouth to talk to him, her vision blurred and the next thing everything went dark around her.

"Neechan!" Rin cried when Sakura fell to the ground unconscious.

"The poison will kill her soon." Sesshoumaru said unemotionally. He could smell the poison already starting to flow in her blood stream.

"No, neechan save my life, we can't let her die like that…." Rin said almost in tears.

Sesshoumaru looked down at the girl quietly.

"Neechan…" Rin shook Sakura's shoulders softly. "Wake up!"

"Jaken bring Ah Aun here." Sesshoumaru said kneeling down next to the girl.

"Hai, Sesshoumaru-sama." Jaken sprinted off to get the two headed dragon.

"Sesshoumaru-sama going to save neechan?" Rin exclaimed happily.

Without answering Rin, Sesshoumaru lifted Sakura off the ground effortlessly and place her on Ah Aun's back.

"Where are we bringing her?" Jaken asked.

Without answering Sesshoumaru started to walk, as Rin quickly followed pulling Ah Aun's reins along with her leaving Jaken behind.

"Chotto matte yo!" He yelled running after them.
