Forgive them? Forget them? Move on? But how can you let your heart lie to you?

“He said it was an accident; that she needed comfort and he didn't know what to do.” Kagome explained shaking her head as she sat in the quaint little coffee shop. Sango shook her head as her eyes pleaded for her to continue. Kagome shifted her small cup of coffee as she continued.

 

“Kagome, you gotta believe me. I never meant for any of that to happen, onegai”

She shook her head in disbelief.

“Kagome you know I would never hurt you, not purposely “He begged

Kagome emotionlessly laughed as she shook her head once more.

InuYasha held her hands in his as he begged continuously

“No InuYasha, why comfort her that way? Why lie to me about it?”

“I was afraid” he answered lifelessly

Kagome sat at her computer chair, her head lowered as she tried to avoid his gaze.

 

Sango let a cold laugh escape. Kagome tried to stop the liquid drops of crystal from falling, but failed. One slipped into her cup of coffee and small waves emitted from it.

Kagome stared at the liquid for a moment as the events recoiled in her mind.

 

“What happened?” she asked not wanting to know the answer, but something inside said she had to know. Her nails were digging into her skin as she listened to his tale.

“Kagome, gomen nasai, honestly I never meant to. She came over that night; she was crying what was I supposed to do? Put her out in the rain and say sorry but I have a girlfriend so we can't talk? She was really upset.”

“So you slept with her?! She was upset and you slept with her? Yea Yash that makes a lot of sense” she screamed sarcastically.

InuYasha lowered his head in shame, he knew she was right.

“Kagome please listen to me”

“InuYasha, if you are going to go into detail on what happened, I am not interested” she said rather coldly.

“Kagome onegai”

“No” she snapped

 

“You yelled at him?” Sango asked in disbelief

“Yea and ya know what?”

“Nam?”

“It felt good. Even in that situation, it felt good”

“Kagome...” Sango shook her head and let out a silent laugh

Kagome took a sip of her drink and continued with her story

 

Kagome was about to walk out of the room when InuYasha grabbed her arm and pulled her into his grasp.

“No Kagome, you have to listen to me, onegai Kagome”

“I can't InuYasha, you've said enough. Your actions where enough, this is just...”

“Enough” He finished as he looked at the sad young woman in his arms.

“Yea, enough” she said looking back before pulling away from him.

It was an odd silence to say the least. Kagome sat back in her chair as InuYasha sat on her bed

She had turned to look away when the un-mistakable sound of a whimpering cry was heard.

She turned to look, only to see InuYasha with his arms hanging limply over his legs and his head held low as he cried.

 

“InuYasha was..... Crying?” Sango asked befuddled

“Hai, it wasn't just a cry though, it was defeated and broken” she said drolly as though she should have felt triumphant that she had made him feel the same way she had felt, rather then feel bad about it. She continued her tale once more.

 

She walked over to his side and held his hands in hers. He looked up and she wiped away his tears.

He leaned his head on her shoulder as though he was defeated and shamed.

“I love you” his broken voice cracked.

“I know” she replied.

 

“So that's it? You just forgave him?” Sango asked once again baffled

“Hai”

“How can you after her cheated on you with Kikyo? How can you after he lied to you? After all that how can you bare to look at him, let alone forgive him?”

Sango queried in shock

“Yea but Sango, how can you tell your heart to lie?” she asked, answering her friends questions as they exited the Shoppe.
