Summary : he had finally done it, he had finally given Kikyo the one thing she had always wanted and he didnt even realize it. And Kagome was in the middle of it all.

"InuYasha....How could you?" Kagome managed to say before running toward the well.
His amber eyes still fixed upon the place where the girl once stould.'How could I ? ' was all that came to mind as he realized the painful truth of what he had just accomplished.
It was the one Kikyo wanted the most and he had just given it to her with out even knowing.
"InuYasha you look so sad , is it my re-incarnation that makes you such? or would it be you actually feel remorseful for promising yourself to me?" Kikyo laughed in her monotone voice

Kagome ran as fast as she could, tears flooding down her face.
'How could I believe he loved me? How could I have been so stupid?' she sobbed
It began pouring down hard, Kagome couldn't hold her balance any longer. She tripped constantly on the rocks and soaked ground. She finally gave up when her legs reached full weakness and loss of blood.

"Both" he said in the same tone
"Well thats fine, this was all just a silly plot anyway" she laughed walking off
'A plot? ' he grasped her shoulders forcing her to look at him.
"Kikyo what do you mean?"

Her legs gave way and she fell to the cold unforgiving ground.
She laid there sobbing. 'Why InuYasha ? Why? ' was all she could manage. 'I gave you everything'
She made herself sick from her exsesive crying

"Simple minded fool , it was a plot to lure you away from Kagome and have that little bitch find you here with me and have her leave for ever "
'How could I have been so stupid?'
"Why would you do this ? what do you have against Kagome?"
"Nothing really except that she is nothing but a mere copy of the real thing and she could never hold your heart as I do now. Why not just rid ourselves of this pest any way?"
he cracked his fingers vengefully and tore her to peices

The rain was pouring on Kagome's seemingly lifeless body.
She lay there for noone knows how long, until
some one finally picked her up
Strong, warm arms held her closely as she slept .
She snugled her head into her saviors arms, she could have sworn she heard him purr but then again she couldnt tell from her weariness.

"Kagome...." InuYasha screamed her name for countless hours. 'Where could she be? '
he ran through the mourning rain searching for any sign of her or her scent but her found nothing, but a faint scent of hers where she had been crying .
'She's been here but where did she go' and suddenly the second scent hit him.
'Kouga' he growled under his breath 'If he does anything to her I'll kill him.'

Kagome awoke to be covered by fur blankets and next to a warm fire, she immediately knew where she was ..Kouga's den. She had only been here two times before and both were because InuYasha had hurt her, Kouga had found her and this time was no different.
"Ah Kagome, I see you've awakend how do you feel?"
An odd question but she understood.
"I'm fine Kouga thank you but can you tell me what happend after I passed out?"
"I was hoping you could tell me why you did but I suppose you want me to answer first?"
She shook her head gently "Yes please"
He sighed and began with his story
"Well I had this bad feeling the mutt had done something and I was right, I found you lying next to the well crying your eyes out, your breathing was steady and you looked cold as stone, I wasn't about to leave you there so I picked you up and took you to my den, I was worried when you hadn't woken after the first day.."
"First day?! How amny days was I out?"
"Three"
"Three days and ..." she began tearing up again
"Kagome I din't mean to make you..what I mean is ...
InuYasha is an idiot . why don't you forget him and come with me, I'll protect you, I wont hurt you like he did" he said with loyallty gleaming in his eyes.
"But why didn't he come look for me?"
"Don't worry my cave was well hidden, for your safety" he added slowly
"But"
"Kagome don't worry yourself over him, he is nothing"
he pulled her into his arms, she respnded and held closer to him, she needed his comfort.

'Where did he take her' InuYasha searched den aftrer den and no sign of them.

"So Kagome what exactly happend?"
She looked away then began with a solemn look
"It all started this morning, InuYasha wasnt in the hut with everyone else so I went looking for him...."
~Flash back~
It was cold noone was in the forest and nothing could be heard
Kagome was walking in the forest looking for InuYasha.
it was quiet . to quiet, it got more and more eerie as she walked deeper into the woods.
Finally she heard two voices, Kikyo and InuYasha
"Kikyo, I will never let you suffer the way you did again.
I will kill Naraku and you will be free to be with me"
"InuYasha what of that girl"
"Who? Do you mean, Kagome?"
"Yes her"
"I don't know she'll prpbly stick around to help with the shards I mean it was her fault"
"And after that?"
"I dunno "
"InuYasha do you still have feelings for her?"
"Kikyo I allready promised myself to you do I have to again?"

"Thats when he noticed me there. I think he felt bad that I heard it but that was all. I started crying and ran all he could do was stare at me."
"Kagome.." he said nuzzeling into her neck

'Here I'm sure of it' InuYasha growled as he lept into the cave doorway.
"GET YOUR HANDS OFF HER WOLF!" he growled in a terrfying voice
"You had your chance mutt and you chose a walking clay corpse wich by the way can never love seeing as how she doesnt have a heart"
He staggered back as realization hit him.
Kagome was in the room, in Kouga's arms, and NOT trying to get away.
"Kagome..whats going on? why don't you make him let you go like always? " he asked more shocked than concern
She looked away tearing her eyes from his penitrating golden gaze. He managed a few words
"Kagome, how could you?"
She stould up abruptly and shouted at him
"How could I? How could I? What do you mean how could I when you allready promised yourself to Kikyo after you told me you loved me? You didnt really though, did you? " She didnt give him time to answer before shouting again.
"You didn't! you just wanted your shard hunter around but hello news flash Kikyo can do the same! "She was cut off quickly as InuYasha pressed his lips roughly against hers .
Kouga sat there in shock.
'Kagome he'll only hurt you again' he seemed to say with his eyes.
Kagome was first to pull away.
"Inu--Yasha" she stuttered quietly
"Kagome, I never meant to hurt you I never meant to say any of that to Kikyo it was all her plot to get you to leave "
"And what you said 'She'll probly just stick around' and 'I allready promised my self to you do I have to again?' Whats that supposed to mean?" She asked tearing up
It was a long awkward silence
"InuYasha I can't take this right now, your tearing up my heart when I'm with you but when I'm with out you i feel it too so whats this girl to do" she sorta sang the last part
Kouga finally regained himself and spoke
"How could you you damn mutt you come in here and think you can get away with hurting her and then you kiss her. you just make things worse!!"
"Shut up WOLF..Kagome I'm sorry please"
"No InuYasha "
"What?"
"No I cant handle this anymore. Kikyo can help you with the shards not me. I'm sorry. But the best thing for me right now is being away from you. Tell the others I'm sorry and I'll see them soon. But right now I'm staying with Kouga"
"Kagome..."
"No now go InuYasha you have said your peace now leave"
Kouga wrapped his arms around her protectively
InuYasha walked out of the den defeatetd and hurt.
'One day.. she'll come back to me and I'll be waiting.'
