Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha! Sad as it is I am saving money to buy him and the gang. I don't think I have enough money to buy them though. Okay enough of me chit-chatting. Let's get this thing started.
Prologue
The end of the search of the Shikon-no-tama was drawing to the end. Kagome held the jewel in her outstretched hand waiting for Inuyasha to take it from her.
“Kagome, why are you doing this? We need to fight Naraku. I need you to help me fight him. You are the only one who can detect where the shards are.” Inuyasha tried to reason with Kagome, but his patience was thinning.
“Inuyasha, I know you can defeat Naraku without me and in plus you wouldn't have to worry about me, that is if I get hurt. Why do you keep pestering me about it? I need to focus on school and after this battle with Naraku, you won't need me.” Kagome finished with a sigh, she started packing without looking at the hanyou knowing that she couldn't keep the pain hidden.
Inuyasha looked hurt. `So this was the only reason whys he stayed to help me. She broke the shard and she feels responsible. What is wrong with me? Nobody can love me.' He left the hut that they were staying in and climbed the tree ten yards away to keep an eye on the hut and on Kagome. His bangs covered his eyes. He didn't want anybody knowing that he was desperately sad that Kagome was leaving him.
When Kagome finished packing all of her stuff into her yellow backpack, she dragged the bag towards the door and lifted the bag and put the weight of it on her shoulders and back. Slowly, she made her way to the Bone-Eaters well. She climbed over the edge and was about to go back to her time when the little kitsune came running to her.
“Kagome! Why are you leaving, was it something Inuyasha did?” Shippo cried, holding onto Kagome's arm aiming a stare over to Inuyasha.
“Shippo, I need to go, and Inuyasha didn't do anything to me. I just need to leave. Inuyasha doesn't need me anymore and I'm sorry Shippo but this isn't my time, I don't belong here.” Kagome's arm was released from Shippo's grasp.
“I'm sorry.” Kagome tried so hard not to allow her tears to escape. She didn't want that to happen. Shippo dropped down to where the well met with the ground. Kagome silently placed the container that contained the shards on the edge and dropped into the well that would take her 500 years to her present time.

Kagome threw the bag over the well, as she walked to the house she saw the Goshinkboku. She couldn't hold in the tears anymore. They silently flowed down her cheeks. She landed next to the bas of the tree. She cried her heart out. \
“Inuyasha, why didn't you just tell me that you don't love me? This isn't fair!” Kagome yelled at to no one.
Kagome sat next to the tree, for a good length of time. She didn't notice the light coming from the well house. She finally looked up and saw Inuyasha coming from the well house towards her.
Inuyasha could smell Kagome's tears when he climbed out of the well. He had to say something to her. `Kagome, I'm sorry that it took so long for me to realize this.' Inuyasha walked over to Kagome, who was sitting next to the Goshinkboku.
“Kagome, I….” Inuyasha was about to ay what was on his mind when Kagome looked up to him with her chocolate brown eyes tear-stricken.
`I don't want to hear this. I knew he would make his decision sooner or later but I don't want to be more depressed. Why doesn't he just leave to go to her?' Kagome didn't want to put up with the pain of Inuyasha telling her that he was going to choose Kikyo over her.
“Kagome, I love you!” Inuyasha rushed out, in case Kagome was going to `sit' him.
