As his blade sliced through one of the heads of the huge demon they were fighting Inuyasha looked around observing his friends "Inuyasha!" called a dark haired woman standing below him, her bow pulled tight a glowing arrow at its string, "Inuyasha" she called again "You're in the wayof my shot". Scowling Inuyasha jumped down beside Miroku "who does she think she is?" he asked the monk grouchily as he watched Kagome take her shot. Ignoring Inuyashas question Miroku rushed over to congratulate Kagome on taking down the demon.

Watching Miroku and Sango come towards her Kagome felt the pain shoot down her back again making her remember the blow that had caught her off guard, the demons spiny tail had swung behind leaving, from what she could tell, three bloody puncture wounds. Feeling the pain again Kagomes legs buckled from beneath her, dropping to her knees the last thing she saw before she blacked out was Inuyasha pushing past Miroku and Sango, a look of devastation playing across his handsome features.

Rushing to Kagomes side he lifted her into his lap "Kagome" he whispered, gently pushing the hair out of her eyes, hearing that her breathing was becoming shallow and uneven he lifted her body tenderly and took off running at a breath-taking speed, silently praying that she would hold out, her blood was gently dripping onto his haori as he practically flew over the treetops.

Realising that he was too far from Kaedes for her to be of any help he landed carefully on a grassy knoll in a small clearing. Inuyasha gently laid her out propping her head up with his folded haori, gently rolling her onto her side he observed her wounds despairingly, groaning out loud in frustration he realised that there was nothing he could do for her " DAMN IT" he yelled kicking the ground in frustration, spotting asmall spring he rushed over cupping his hands, bringing water over to her he cleaned her wounds.

Winceing slightly Kagome opened her eyes, looking around she tried to figure out where she was, feeling a slight pressure across her back and then across her chest she groaned slightly "Kagome" came a slightly sorrowful voice from behind her, rolling over shesaw Inuyasha watching her worry flickering behind his bright amber eyes "How are you feeling he murmered, groaning again she lifted her head and laid it down in his lap "What happened, where are we?" she whispered. Looking at her strangely he murmered in reply "You blacked out, and dont even bother asking where we are cuz' even i don't know" smiling at her he gently pushed her hair out of her eyes "Inuyasha are you feeling alright?" she asked sitting up and facing him "Yeah why?" he asked cautiously "Just you've never acted like this around me before" she said smiling slightly "Kagome i ... i need to tell you something, look when you collased back there i, i thought i was going to lose you! I was terrified, it was then that i realised that if i had lost you then you would never have known how i feel about you" gently stroking her cheek he continued "Kagome i'm in love with you". Looking at him with wide eyes she couldn't believe what he had just told her 'Kagome im in love with you'. "Yash, i..." she stuttered throwing her arms around him she murmered in his ear "I love you too". Holding her tightly in his arms he suddenly stiffened "Whats wrong" Kagome asked pulling back to look into his eyes "Yash?" she asked as Inuyasha let out a low growl.

Letting Kagome go Inuyasha grabbed his haori and covered her with it "Wait Yash" she said "I can't take this you haven't even got a shirt on" she said gestureing to the makeshift bandaging across her back and chest. "No" he said not allowing her to hand it back "You need it more than i do" he murmered gently stroking her cheek, lifting her up he jumped carefully into a tree and set her down on a sturdy branch "Wait here, okay Kags" looking at her with a concerned look in his eyes he dropped back off the branch and stood between her and the now heavily rustling leaves. Drawing the Tetsusaiga he stood poised toattack as his growling became more pronounced as Koga stepped through the foliage. "What do you want Koga" Inuyasha asked his voice dripping with loathing "I'm here for my woman Inuyasha, smelt her blood" Koga said as he leapt towards Kagome "OH NO YOU DON'T" Inuyasha yelled jumping at Koga "IRON REAVER SOUL STEALER!" he called swiping at Koga. Koga dodged the blow, dropping back to the ground before leaping back at Kagome. Inuyashas eyes glowed red as he smashed his fist into Kogas skull knocking him out and throwing him to the ground.

"Kagome" he murmered landing on the branch beside her "Are you okay?" "I'm fine" she whispered holding his hand to her face as he stroked her cheek "Thankyou" "Don't mention it" he said moving closer and kissing her gently.
