InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Hurt Like Hell ❯ One-Shot

"Ah, wow! I actually made it on time today!" Kagome stumbled out of the well and looked at her watch. "Yep,. Just three minutes late." Kagome started jogging towards the village but stopped when somebody stepped out of the woods to her left. Kikyo.

"W-What do you want?"

Kikyo glared evilly at Kagome, smiled and said, "Your life."

She slowly pulled out herb ow and arrows while Kagome ran towards the village. Too scared to scream, Kagome wondered why Kikyo wanted her dead. Was she jealous?

Kagome immediatly stopped thinking about that and focused on the pain in her back. It hurt...it hurt like hell. Kagome stumbled to the side, caught herself, and fell to her knees. She had to get to Inuyasha. If she was going to die now, she wouldn't accept it without telling Inuyasha how she felt. So she crawled.She crawled down the hill and to the edge of the village. She winced as she looked back behind her...Kikyo was gone.

Inuyasha was eating his ramen when he smelled blood. Setting his noodles down carefully, he leapt out of the hut and followed the smell to the edge of the village. He saw Kagome, who had managed to sit up so that the arrow in her back would be hidden from view, at least to Inuyasha. When she told him how she felt, she didn't wasnt him to think it was deranged rantings of a dying girl.

Inuyasha saw the trail of blood and ran to her.

"Kagome!! What happened? Is that your blood? Where is it coming from?! KAGOME!"

Kagome tried to speak, but the pain was too horrible to do so. She couldn't tell him, and it hurt...it hurt like hell. Thoughts of leaving without telling him raced through her mind.

She leaned forward and brought her lips to Inuyasha's. He was shocked. Why was she doing this? What was wrong with her? Why were her lips so cold?

He started to return the kiss. Then she just stopped. Sliding from his face, she fell forward into his lap, dead. Inuyasha saw the arrow protruding from her back and recognized it as Kikyo's.

Inuyasha lifted Kagome into his arms and he held her, his silent tears wetting her hair. Her cold lifeless body hung limp in his arms as he thought about how much he had lied to her. How much he had hidden from her. Things he would have been better off letting her know. He was always hiding stuff from her. Now, he'd never be able to tell her. And it hurt...it hurt like hell.
