I Caught Fire.
Summary: Kagome goes to a club to have some fun but fun turns
into a night she'll never forget. Told in Kagome’s POV

I traced the walls of the night club, with my fingers as I circled the loud room.
I wore my favorite outfit to the depressing night club. I wore my black leather corset, my long arm sleeves that tied on the sides, and my favorite pair of black graffiti pants from hot topic. My hair was down and curled slightly at the ends as it waved against my neck and face.
The music banged in my head. The bright neon lights blinded me for the moment. The room was lit by only the strobing lights. The walls were black and had morbid graffiti on them. The song was loud as it echoed through the dark room. I mouthed the words. Looking across the crowd, I saw my best friend and my best friend’s boyfriend. Both were dancing like there was no tomorrow.
‘I wish InuYasha was here’ I smacked herself for thinking of my ex-boyfriend.
‘How could I be so stupid? I don’t want him here! ... Then again I do’
I paused for a moment as I looked through the dancing crowd.
I saw Kikyo, InuYasha’s girlfriend. ‘What’s she doing here?’ I thought to myself as I walked that way. Kikyo was dancing closely to some man....it wasn’t InuYasha....it was.....Kouga?!
I made my way through the wave of people. I spied on the two before realizing InuYasha....... was there. He looked angry. He charged his way over to Kikyo. I look at him and realize how much I really miss him.

InuYasha marched angrily over to the treacherous woman. He yanked her arm.
Kouga looked over at him.
“What are you doing mutt?” I hear Kouga scream at him, as he yanks for Kikyo.
“Taking back my girlfriend” he yelled.
How could he call her ‘his’ girlfriend if she keeps cheating on him?
I mean InuYasha cheated on me but I still forgave him...because I loved him....now I realize he loves her....
That’s why he left me...I feel a tear forming and sliding down my cheek.
“Kikyo...what are you doing with this...wolf...I thought....”
“That’s your problem InuYasha you think too much...I wanted some fun, so I went out and found Kouga, you should really stick with the one you loved rather then the one you like. That’s another problem. “
“But Kikyo I”
“You heard the lady InuYasha she loves me, and hates you, so why don’t you leave.”
“Shut up wolf. Kikyo think about what you’re doing....do you really want that filthy flee bitten wolf? “
“Least he’s real” she said cocking her head to the side
“What?”
“The whole time we went out, you only talked about Kagome, you were in love with her and when you broke up with her you crushed her, now I’m not one to vouch for that girl, but she loved you, and you clearly loved her.”
“Kikyo”
“No InuYasha I made my choice like you decided to screw up yours.”
“But Kikyo”
“Night InuYasha”
Kikyo and Kouga walked away leaving InuYasha to wallow in his new found misery.
I looked over at his broken face. Right now I’m not sure whether I wanna slap him and laugh because he feels the same pain I felt, or go over and hug him for talking about me when he was cheating and dating someone else. I see him walking through the crowd; he looked like he was thinking about something.
I want to scream his name and tell him it’ll be ok, but I can’t make myself. So I sit and wait for a moment.
I look back over at Sango and Miroku, they’re still happily dancing. Miroku has his arm around her waist and they're so close. Once again I wish that was InuYasha and I.

I decide to run after InuYasha. But something is holding me back, the guilt that he left me and I'm still chasing after him like a lost puppy. I feel so lost with out him but with him I feel betrayed.
What do I do now? I see him exit the night club. I begin to slowly follow.
But as fate always sets it, Sango stops me.
“Kagome, where are you going?”
“Outside, I need some air.”
“Ok...oh k well were leaving in about two hours, that’s when it closes ok”
“K I’ll be back in a few.”
“K”
And with that I leave the conversation and go out side to see him once more, of not up close then from afar.
I see him sitting on a bench outside the building, and down by the fountains.
“InuYasha”


Every second I'm without you I'm a mess

I say his name. His ears perk up slightly as he hears my voice.
I can tell by his present state that he was shocked I came and that he wanted me to as well.
He turns around and looks at me.
“Kagome”
“InuYasha, I’m sorry. I saw what happened”
“Doesn’t matter”
“InuYasha” I look at him with sympathetic eyes. I think he understands
“I miss you, InuYasha” I about slapped myself for speaking words I swore I never would again.
“You....you what?”
“I said I miss you, I have ever since we broke up. I just hoped one day you would come back to me” right then I could have slapped myself but I refused. He seemed ok with what I was saying...maybe he felt the same.
“Kagome I...”
“Don’t say anything, I know how you feel ...about Kikyo. And I won’t stand in your way, but you could have at least told me when we dated that you loved her and I would have let you go....painfully but I would have”
“Kagome I ...look I never wanted this but...”
“It’s ok “
“What...what do you mean?”
“I know you still love her”
“I don’t”
“Don’t lie”
“I’m not lying. Look I want to “
“InuYasha hold on a moment there is one thing I wanna do before I leave”
“Leave ...what?”
I cup his chin and pull myself to level with him. I look into his gorgeous amber eyes and slowly close mine as I gently place a kiss on his cherry lips.
I miss kissing him this way but what's a girl to do?

I pull away before it could be deepened. He looks shocked and holds my shoulders tight.
I tried to pull away but he wouldn’t allow me. He pulled me back into the kiss and deepened it further.
“InuYasha I can’t “
“Cant what?”
“I can’t do this”
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t wanna be hurt again.”
“What makes you think I want to hurt you?”
“You did last time”
“Kagome...”
“No” I scream before running the other way.
I love him. I know I do. I just don’t wanna be hurt again.
I run for the club. For some reason, the street lights are all out and no one is on the road.
It’s very odd. But no matter, I must keep going. I can’t get hurt again and that’s the thought that keeps me going.
“Kagome...wait!!!!!” I hear him scream. I refuse to wait, I press on.
I hear him catching up to me, but I still won’t stop.
“Kagome wait!!”
He screams again. He’s getting closer.
I reach the doors of the club ....but not in time.
He reaches out and grabs my shoulders.
“Kagome, what the hell was that about? You kissed me then freaked.”
“I’m ...I’m sorry, I never meant to kiss you, I just...I'm sorry.”
“Well I’m not”
“What?”
“I’m not sorry. I’m glad you did”
“InuYasha don’t start that. I can’t handle this anymore.”
“Kagome.”
“No InuYasha if we cant be friends, then we don’t need to be any where near each other. I'm sorry”
“Kagome...I love you”
“I...I loved you”
“What?”
“I don’t know, I mean I still think I do but I'm afraid of getting hurt”
“I won’t hurt you...you have to trust me”
“Look where it ended me last time”

Sango and Miroku were still dancing in the club. Sango looked over at her lover as the music blared in the surroundings. She looked into his eyes.
“I love you, Miroku.”
“I love you too, Sango “
He replied as he leaned in to kiss her.

InuYasha held my arms as I tried to struggle to free myself.
He looked piercingly into my eyes, I tried to block the gaze but to no avail.
I struggled further; he pushed me up against the door and held me there.
“Kagome would you just hold on a sec”
“No... Let.....me....go” I say in a feudal attempt to get away.
“Kagome....just let me explain”
“No.... you already tried....let...me...GO”
“Kagome...look at me”
I know what he is trying to do, but his golden gaze won’t release me.
I look into his eyes and begin to melt where I stood.

“I love you ...and no one else, I realize that now. That whole Kikyo and me thing...well that’s just it, it was just a thing and nothing else “
“InuYasha please don’t lie to me, I know you, some where deep down inside, might have loved me but ...now I don’t know”
“Please Kagome just listen to me”InuYasha just one thing, honesty, I don’t want to know if your going to lie, and if you truly love her tell me”
“Ok”
“Ok ... ok what?”
“I’ll be honest. I love you more then anyone in this whole fucking world and yet you won’t allow me too”

It all became utterly silent as he uttered those last few words.
I look up in to his eyes to search for any signs of lying. I found none.
He still held me in his warm arms. I almost melted right there.
He pulled me closer, his lips meeting mine.
We kiss for a few moments before I realize I'm supposed to be mad at him.
I push him away and he stares angrily at me.

“Kagome...”
“I can’t do this...it’s not right. “
“What?”
“I can’t “
“Kagome...”
“Kagome WE GOTTA GO” Sango screamed from the car.
“Kagome look, Ill take you home just stay here and let me explain.”
He pleaded me with his golden eyes.
Once again I melted and agreed.

We stayed and talked for about another hour and then we went back to his house.
I agreed to let him take me to his house only because it was raining and wasn’t worth having to drive in the mess.

We were both soaked, he offered me one of his oversized shirts and a pair of shorts.
I walked out to see him wearing only his sweat pants.
I try to keep my eyes from popping out of my head.

“Ok so explain” I say calmly
I walk over to the couch and sit down next to him.
He pulls me into his arms and holds me tight. I ignore the fact that he was a jerk but I'm just happy were here.

“Insecurity”
“What?”
“ I was ....what I mean was....I...I thought you didn’t love me anymore, you were always out working. It was...petty I know....but I love you....”
“I love you too, but that doesn’t explain..”
“Why I cheated on you. Yea see as you know Kikyo was my ex-girlfriend...I was only with her once and it went further then it was supposed to, we were...I was supposed go and see and old friend....but when you had arrived it was a lot further then it was supposed to be.”:
“InuYasha ....”
“I only thought of you...every time I was with her. I love you. I missed you... I only want you.”
“Oh...Inuyasha”

He held me closer in his arms and kissed me, it was like no other kiss, it was passionate and loving, it was amazing .he laid me on the couch and deepened the kiss. He pulled up for a moment.
He looked at me and picked me up. He carried me bridal style to the bedroom.
He laid me down and kissed me even more the before.
He whispered “I love you” as he held me.
He lifted me up as he took off my shirt.
Well it was his shirt but you get it.
He slid off his sweat pants and my shorts.
He began kissing me again, yea we were making out in our undies.
He trailed kisses down my collar bone and stopped when he reached the dip between my neck and shoulder.
He tore off my bra and panties, as I slid off his boxers,
He lay me down again as he whispered “I’ll be gentle”.
He balanced himself as he tore into me.
I yelled his name as I dug my nails into his back.
He trailed kisses down my neck trying to soothe me.
After two hours it was over and I was once more lying in his warm arms.

“I love you Kagome”
“I love you too, InuYasha”
