- Pinch me, Kagome!
- What?
- Oh, pinch me! I cant believe this is us, riding in a lemo to the coolest club in town. I must be dreaming!
- Sure thing, honey, - Kagome smirked and pinched Sango on the arm.
- Auch! Gee, thanx Kag, now I'll have a bruise!
- Oops, sorry… but hey, you can pretend it's a… hickey!
- Sick!
Rin, who had been looking at them wonderingly, laughed.
- Are you two always talking that way?
- Nope. It's seasonal, - answered Sango with a smile. - Now tell me, Rin, are you sure you won't get into any trouble going with us to a night club like that?
- I hope not, - said Rin, rather cheerfully. - I promise to behave myself and be good. Cross my heart.
- Yea, we'll keep an eyes on you, little miss, - said Kagome primly in a superior tone. - No alcohol for you. And certainly no striping on the dance floor with the bartender.
Rin snorted.
- Well, I see you sure have a clubbing experience, - she teased. - By the way, I still don't get it - why didn't Miroku and Inuyasha come to the club with you guys?
- They were too busy with their business, - echoed Kagome. - And that Kikyo… ugh… she's really creepy.
Rin stared at her in astonishment.
- Kikyo? Did you just say Kikyo?
- Ye… what?
- But… but I thought she was… dead.
- Dead?! - Sango and Kagome looked both dismayed and shook their heads in disbelief. - But it can't be! Rin, could it be that we are talking about different people?
She shrugged.
- Could be. It's possible, that I'm mistaken… but… actually, it's a very strange story…
- Tell us, - insisted Sango.
- Well, as far as I'm concerned Kikyo was working with Inuyasha and Miroku at the time when they were just starting up their business. They have been like a team, a real team where they could depend on each other. I saw Kikyo only once - she had long black hear, green eyes and was very beautiful.
- She still is, - said Kagome darkly. - Then we're talking about the same Kikyo… but why did you say she was… dead?
- Oh, the master told me she probably was. But before that - she, Inuyasha and Miroku had a quarrel… I don't know about what, but after that she left the team and went to some foreign country… and I haven't heard anything about her ever since.
Out of the corner of her eye, Rin saw Kagome pale and look startled.
- I don't like the whole story… No wonder that Inuyasha was so surprised when he saw her, - she said. - That woman looked pretty alive to me… and the glances she was throwing at Inuyasha… ugh!
- Oh, calm down, Kag, - Sango grinned at her. - She's just here for business, that's all. Nobody's gonna take your precious Inuyasha away from you.
Kagome looked as if she was going to have a coronary.
- He is not mine and leave your… - she started, but at this moment the car stopped, the drivers' window went down and Kemuri solemnly announced: "We're here… the night club "Wild Wine"."

Du
Du hast
Du hast mich
Du hast mich
Du hast mich gefragt
Du hast mich gefragt
Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt
- Why is the music so loud? - was Rin's first question, as the trio entered the club.
Kagome giggled at her bemused expression. "Music rules this zone of the night. It's always so in night clubs… Wow, what a cool place!" she exclaimed, looking around. It was more than anything she has seen before.
Some mad architect outdone himself with the decorations for the club. The huge main room was a neon landscape, complete with tables round the wall painted with graffiti and a long bar.
They went to it making their way through the crowd of dancing people and landed gracefully on high chairs.
The bartender - a young handsome guy - immediately turned to them with a sexy grin.
- So, what can I get you three beautiful tonight?
Sango awarded him with the most angelic smile she had.
- Barbados.
- And I'll have a Blue Margarita, - added Kagome.
Rin shrugged.
- Hm… I don't know what to chooooose, - she said sounding like a real expert. Sango and Kagome giggled.
- May I suggest Caiprissima for the beautiful lady, - asked the bartender and when she nodded, got to making the cocktails. He served them to the girls, somehow managed to wink to all of them at the same time and moved on to other customers.
- So we're here, - said Rin cheerfully. - What do we do now?
- Have our fun, of course, - said Sango, grinning as she picked her glass with cocktail. - Hm… If Miroku doesn't show up in an hour, I think I'll start flirting with the bartender … he's real cute.
At this Kagome snorted.
- Oh no you don't! If Inuyasha doesn't show up in half an hour I myself will flirt with the bartender!
Rin's eyes lit up.
- Um… guys… I've got nobody to wait, so why don't I start flirting with the bartender right now. He's so sexy when he smiles like that!
Sango and Kagome choked on their cocktails and burst out laughing.
Rin looked at the glass standing before her with suspicion.
- Is this safe?
- You'll never know until you try, - said Sango, in a decided manner. - Besides, you can always spit it out.
Rin looked thoughtfully at her glass, shrugged and took a sip.
- M-m-m-m… good. Sweet. Cold. And tastes like raw fish with honey, - she pointed out smugly.
- Hey, the bartender's coming our way, - warned Kagome. - Get ready, guys!

The bedroom was full of dim evening light.
Sesshoumaru sat in the window seat, and looked out. Just above the western line of mountains the sun was setting like a red seam along a pale gray cloth.
The deepening sky above the mountain tops made him think of a slit throat gushing blood.
He was tired, not physically exhausted from lack of sleep compounded with permanent tension of the last days, but tired of uncertainty. He couldn't get used to that.
What gnawed at him was the anxiety.
When she was with him, hit felt right; when he was not with her, he wondered when he would see her again. It made him want hurt her, just to get a reaction.
What had seemed like a game had become something else instead. Initially, it had seemed like a convoluted way of searching for something.
For what?
For the worst feeling imaginable?
Surely that it was worse than anything.
It had to be.
Otherwise what point there was in all this? Uncertainty again.
Enough, he said to himself, time to end with this vague search.

It was already past midnight, and Wild Wine was full of music non-stop. Kagome, pleasantly tired and very warm, sat at one of the tables, a glass of Blue Margarita in her cupped hands.
With a yawn, she glanced over at the middle of the dance floor, where Sango was dancing something exotic with two cute guys to the fast beat song. Rin was sitting at the bar with another cocktail (Kagome wondered, if the girl had too much of that), talking to the bartender. Both laughed and looked totally absorbed in each other.
It was a moment before she realized that someone else, someone who had come to stand next to her, was looking at her friends as well.
It was Inuyasha.
With the neon behind him turning his hair into a silvery halo, she felt a sour-sweet ache at the back of her throat, and swallowed hard against it. He was wearing dark and his golden eyes were shaded by thick lashes.
- Inuyasha - she breathed out.
He smiled softly at her, but didn't sit down, instead asked in an odd tone:
- Well, now you're not bored, are you? What else do you need?
- You, - she said, without thinking.
He raised his eyes up to hers, and she felt herself flush at the momentary wicked flash of almost-laughter that brightened his expression.
He held his arms out, crossed at the wrists, and smiled blandly at her.
- Whatever you need, - he said.
She reached to take his hands and stood up.
- Bit tired, are you? - Inuyasha asked, putting an arm around her. - I'm sorry I had you waiting for so long.
She felt warm and contented - the club smelled of rum, and the music was now soft and slow.
- It's ok. You're here. Now. With me. And this club. Your club. So cool.
Inuyasha looked around, smiled and pointed somewhere.
- Do you want to go for a ride? - he asked, taking her by the hand.
Kagome watched as Miroku, who was glancing at Sango and the two guys with a curious expression, rushed to the dance floor
- Sango there might need some help…
- I think she'll manage it on her own, - said Inuyasha, and yanked Kagome after him with such suddenness that her glass flew out of her hand and crashed on the floor. He pushed the front door of the Wild Wine open, pulled Kagome after him, and didn't stop until they were at the foot of the stairs.
- Wait a minute, - said Kagome, once he had paused. He turned to look at him; she seemed bemused. - For a ride?
She looked at him, realizing she was out of breath
The cold wind was already striking color into his cheeks, and in the dim light coming from the club, his eyes seemed bronze.
He opened his mouth to respond, then paused as a group of giggling youths pushed past them and began mounting the stairs.
With a sigh, Inuyasha looked up and led Kagome down the street where there stood a black Lamborghini Murchielago.
He opened the door, and then he and Kagome got in the car. The girl looked around, confused - at the black leather, the shadowy darkness behind the windows, the neon light.
Inuyasha started the car.
- Where are we going? - she asked, and turned to look at him.
- Just for a ride, - he answered, his eyes glittering, flat gold and amused. - Just for a ride.

After another Caiprissima Rin felt dizzy and wondered, how much she already had. That was a tough question and she had no answer to it.
She spend the whole night chatting with the bartender, who actually turned out to be gay (no wonder he was so cute)… but still he was a nice guy.
Probably, alcohol was now floating through her veins like poison.
Rin was feeling real sick now and thought, that she needed a bit of fresh air. She left the club through the nearest door she could find, which turned out to lead into a narrow, dead-end alley, lit only by the lights coming from the windows of the club.
Then began to rain.
Rin laughed quietly and wiped rain out of her eyes - she was all wet now. She looked for the door to get back inside and it was a moment before she realized there was someone there, leaning against the wall by the door. At first just a dark silhouette, a slender figure in a long white cloak, a bent fair head, face hidden by fallen hair.
Rin felt a painful band of cold tighten around her heart, the sharp pressure of shock behind her eyes, even before the figure raised its head, and looked at her.
- Out alone in bad weather, - Seshoumaru's voice was like silk over splinters of broken glass. - Really, Rin.
He took an abrupt step forward, closing the slight gap between them, and pushed Rin, hard, against the wall. She felt cold wet stone through the thin material of her shirt. Sesshoumaru held her pinned there, his hands on her shoulders.
The wind blew his white hair across his face and in the sharp-edged moonlight, she could see herself reflected in his golden eyes, dark with fury and something else. The Rin there was golden too.
Stunned, she looked at him. Her chest was rising and falling as swiftly as if she had been running.
- I didn't leave… - she began, stumbling over her words. - I told Jaken that…
- Quite, - interrupted Sesshoumaru in a hissing breath, his grip tightening on her shirt, and for a dizzy moment Rin was positive he was going to hit her, just grab her and bang her into the wall with all his strength. Sesshoumaru grinned unpleasantly. - Scared, little one?
She nodded. Her body trembled when she looked at him, as if it knew things she didn't know.
- No, - Sesshoumaru said, his mouth twitched into a slow smile. He looked down at his hand, where it now rested against Rin's chest. - You shouldn't be, - he said, and then did exactly the last thing Rin would ever have expected from him now - leaned across the small space that separated them, and kissed her on the mouth.
