Chapter 3

"Uncle? Uncle are you home?" Sango called out as she walked into the house. "Un-"She felt a hand on her shoulder. She was about to have one of her reflex moments but she suppressed it. She looked at her shoulder and recognized her uncle's hand. She was glad she suppressed the reflex; she didn't think it would be a great thing if she would have punched her uncle in the mouth.

"Hello Sango." He said. "How was your first day of school? I see you already have a lot of books." Sango smiled "School was great." She lied "Yea… The books aren't that heavy though. Hey uncle, funny question, you wouldn't mind me moving out would ya? Kagome's mother's getting her an apartment and Kagome asked me to move in with her. That ok with ya?" By the look of his face you could tell that he was glad that Sango had found such a great friend like Kagome, but deep inside he didn't really want her to grow up, he didn't even want to let her move out, but what can he do? She had her heart set on it. "Sure Sango, you can move in with her, as long as it's ok with her mother." He answered after a few minutes of thinking.

"Aw Uncle you're gonna miss me, wont ya?" He just smiled.

"Want something to eat? Got any homework?" He asked her.

"Food? Yes! I'm starving, homework no. Kagome and I are gonna go to the mall to the furniture store. I hear they have good stuff there. That cool wit ya?"

"Yea sure pumpkin, that's `cool' with me." He laughed. "Just let me heat something up and then I'm going to the garden for a bit."

"Ah uncle, you're so different from the rest of the family. Now I see what mom meant. When she talked about ya she would always say something like; he has a really soft heart, or he's the most feminine out us all and doesn't like fighting." Sango giggled at what she had just said.

"Yea you laugh now, but when you need some nice pretty flowers in your house what are you gonna do? Make the out of metal?" They both laughed at that one.

"Uncle you make no sense… But you do make me laugh."

Sango loved her uncle, she wanted to live with him forever, and he was her last family alive. But she knew she had to move out. She was 17 and in her village a girl at that age would already be engaged if not married with children. She had to leave the house she had come to love in such a short time, if she didn't do so now she would never be able to do it.

************* Mean while *************

"Mom?" Kagome said as she entered her own house. "Mom I have to ask you something, where are you?" She walked into the kitchen and saw her mother in front of the stove with her walkman on. `Must have it blasted' Kagome thought. She came up behind her mother and put her hand on her shoulder. He mom jumped up and was about to scream but then saw Kagome's hand. She turned off her walkman and turned around to face her daughter.

"Oh God babe you almost gave me a heart attack. Hungry Hun?" She said

"Yea mom, I'm starving. Mom I have to ask you something. Is it ok if Sango moves in with me in the new apartment? I already asked her and she said that her uncle would be fine with it." Kagome said super fast.

"Slow down baby, of course she can move in with you. So should I make a two bedroom then?"

"Nah, leave it a one bedroom, we'll share."

"Alright honey, whatever you like."

"So when's the food going to be ready? I could eat a horse; I didn't eat anything at school. The lunch looked disgusting. I don't know how the others could eat that stuff." Kagome said sitting on a chair.

"Soon, go wash up. It's only going to be 5 more minutes."

Kagome went to her room and pulled out a pair of jeans and a blue tank top from her dresser. She heard the phone ring and her mom pick it up.

"Kagome honey it's for you."

"Thanks mom." She said and picked up the phone in the hallway.

"Hello?" She said.

"Hey so did your mom say its ok?" Sango said on the other end of the phone

"Yea, she did." Kagome said happily

"Whoop *giggle*… ok well my uncle said it's cool too. How much longer do you need?"

"Um… well mom said food's gonna be ready in a few so were still on for 30 min…well its more like 20 now." She laughed.

"Ok cool uncle's heating up food back here as well. Ok my foods ready I'll see ya in a few."

They hung up.

After dinner Kagome ran over to Sango's and saw that she was already outside.

"Hey Sango!" Kagome waved to her friend

"Hey there." Sango ran out of her yard

"Hey u wanna take uncle's car? He said it would be fine." Sango said as she hugged her best friend.

"Sure cool. The malls kinda far from here so ok."

"Uncle! We're taking your car!" Sango screamed out… "He's in the garden" Sango explained.

They jumped in to his Volkswagen convertible. "Hey if you want we could drive around before we go to the mall… I know I haven't seen everything in here yet… so you could tell me where to go and we will."

"Ok sure."

They drove around for a while and then finally decided to go to the mall. Before going to the furniture store they decided to get something to eat. They were both starving even though they both at not too long ago. (Well it depends, if you think that 2 hours ago is a long time then well you're crazy.) Sango knew where it was located but not how to get there. She drove out on to the highway and go off when she saw 25th ave. "Ok um… Kagome… Where?"

"Um… just go 5 blocks down then make a right turn and your there."

They parked the car in the parking lot and were going towards the mall. As they walked Sango spotted Tori. "Hey look Kagome it's that girl that fucked with our heads today."

"Yea and look she's standing by that Harley… Think it's hers?"

"Wouldn't be surprised if it were."

"Oh look she sees us…wait why is she leaving?"

"Probably doesn't feel like seeing us." Kagome said.

They walked around the furniture store and picked out a lot of great stuff.

"Hey Kagome? Who's paying for the furniture?"

"My mom…" Kagome shrugged. "Hey what do you think of that table?"

"Oooh I like it. It's so pretty, the little boomerangs on the side and the bow and arrows…man it's a pretty table, can we get it?"

"Mmmmhm I'll tell mom about it."

They were at the mall until it was about to close.

"Come on Kagome, we're almost the last ones here. Uncle's gonna hate me for being out so long, what if he'll need the car…" She dragged Kagome out of the mall and to the car.

They drove home discussing the furniture they wanted.

"Well I had fun today." Sango said as she pulled up to Kagome's house.

"Yup me too." She smiled. "Ok I'll see ya tomorrow."

Sango drove into her own driveway and ran home.

"Hi Uncle," She said entering the house. "Mrs. Higurashi… um… I mean Kagome's mom said it'll be cool if I move in with Kagome. We found some great furniture at the mall. There was this great table that were gonna get. It was glass and on the sides it had carvings of a boomerang, a bow and arrows. And the beds were great too… *giggle* Uncle you're enjoying this aren't you."

"Yea… I love hearing about your day." He smiled

"We'll I'm tired so I'll go to bed now. Good night uncle."

"Good night sweetie."

************* Mean while *************

"Hey mom…" Kagome entered the house. "Great stuff at the mall. We must go and buy." Kagome laughed at the look her mom gave her.

"Mom" She whined "you promised you'd pay. We saw these great beds; one of them has these cute little carvings of a little fox and the other of a cat with two tails. I'm telling you their great. Oh and the table is glass and has a boomerang, a bow and arrows carved out on the sides."

"Babe you should never own a credit card. You know you'll have to get a job and pay me back right?" He mom joked.

"MOM!!!"

"I'm kidding babe, now off to bed you have to get up early tomorrow."

"Night mom."

"Good night baby."
