Chapter 7

I woke up early in the morning for work. I turned my head and looked at the clock it read 7:00 A.M. I wasn't really used to waking up this early. I usually woke up at 8:30 for school. I groaned and turned my head the other way. I didn't really feel like getting up and going to work, but knew that I had to. I got out of bed and took a quick shower. I had breakfast and called my boss to pick me up, knowing Kari would need the car and I'd never take the Harley to work. I didn't bother walking down the stairs now, to see if Kari was still home or not I had no time in the morning. I got lunch ready for work and went outside to wait for my boss. I noticed that Kari's car wasn't there. Which meant she had either already left or still didn't come home from last night. I haven't talked to her in a while. `I miss you… It's weird, you live down stairs and I live upstairs of the same damn house, and yet I don't see you…' I thought. I saw my bosses car and stood up from the porch and walked over to the car and got in.

"Come here Tori." A man in a white shirt and jeans said to me. I obeyed. I didn't want to seem rude, he is my boss.

I thought he'd tell me I did something wrong, boy was I wrong. I came up to him and he hugged me. My eyes went wide. I tried to pull away but it didn't work. He turned me around and placed his hands on my breasts. My eyes went wider. I tried to get away again but a 40 year old man is much stronger then a 17 year old girl, even if that girl is half demon. I sometimes thought he's a demon himself, with all the things he does to me. His hands traveled down under my shirt. Then his hands found their way up to my breasts again. He started squeezing them. I was really ashamed of this, no one knew. Not even Kari. I got away from his grip and went back to my job. I was painting a corner when he came back.

"I miss you Tori." He said to me, I didn't say anything back to him.

"What happened? You weren't working for a long time."

"I had a lot of school work." I lied; he didn't have to know what was going on in my life. Although I did tell him funny stories about Kari and me. Other then that he knew nothing.

He smiled at me and said "You missed a spot." And went back down to the other workers.

I groaned and looked up at the ceiling `Why me?!' I thought. ` I dun get it…. I'm in work clothes; jeans and a t-shirt. What is so "attractive" about that?!?!?! Mother fucker I don't get it. I hate this whole crap… But I need the money.' I looked at my watch it read 12:30 `Lunch' I thought. I got up and whipped the excess paint off on the bucket and went to the bathroom to wash my brush.

After work my boss drove me home. I fell asleep in the car. I woke up as usual; a few blocks away from my house. He stopped when we got there and paid me for the day. "I'll see you tomorrow." He told me. I accepted the money and smiled at him "Bye" I said and got out of the car.

I saw Kari's car parked outside of the house, I smiled. `Finally' I thought. I entered the house and saw her in the living room watching T.V.

"Hey Kari. How are ya?" I asked her

"Hi babe, I'm good, how was work?"

"It's ok, you know, the usual."

"Yea I know, work is work. Going tomorrow?" She asked.

"Yup… I don't really want to though."

"Tor you never want to go, but you know you have to. How is it living upstairs?"

"Yea I know I have to" I rolled my eyes. "It's not bad. How is it living down here by yourself?"

She shrugged "It's not bad I just miss you. I haven't talked to you in a few days." She got up and hugged me.

"I miss you Kari." I hugged her back.

We talked for a while, telling each other about our days. Of course I had to forget what had happened at work that day but it was still a good thing we talked. We ordered pizza and I ran out to rent a movie and ended up renting out `The Last Samurai.' We watched the movie and ate the pizza. I fell asleep on Kari's lap. It was a great night.
