“Alright Kid, Don't Worry. I just called backup. They will come very soon.” With that said the police officer started the car and began driving off to the hospital. It was like time had slowed down the moment kagome passed Inuyasha. Neither had the slightest clue what destiny held in store for them.

SWISH SWISH SWISH…the windshield wipers went back and forth, removing the rain droplets from the windows.

`Mom…' Little Kagome thought, her head still lowered. `It's all my fault…I left you there…all alone…I should have been faster then I would've reached you sooner.' A Teardrop fell from the little girl's eyes and on to her lap. `How could I have been SO STUPID!?' Kagome clutched her hands into fists as hot tears fell from those once cheerful, big, innocent eyes. No. Those eyes were long gone now. They're now replaced with saddened and pained eyes. And...Also worry of her beloved mother and soon-to-be brother…If either of them would make it that is. At that thought, Kagome wept more. But she didn't cry out loudly. Kagome bit back her lower lip trying to fight back the tears. She didn't want that thought in her head. She shaked off that thought out of her head. But a vision of her mother dead on a hospital bed kept invading her mind.

Myouga couldn't help but feel sorry for this little girl. Here she was, her thighs all wet from tears, hiding her face from the world and shielding all her pain inside. Myouga gave a sigh as a tall building came into view. “We're here.” Myouga said not looking away from the hospital. Kagome's head shot up. Her cheeks had tear streaks, and her eyes were a bit puffy from crying so much.

The rain had stopped.

 

WHOO…WHOO…WHOO…WHOO…

 

5 police cars surrounded the little hanyou and the body lying at his feet. She lay down on her stomach. Her beautiful, long hair cascading down on her back, playing as a veil around her face. All the policemen left their vehicles to assist the woman lying on the ground and the little boy. They just assumed that the woman just fell unconscious or something because her hair covered all the blood that was on her. “Ma'm…are you alright?” a concerned police officer asked. He put a hand on her shoulder and turned her over. “Aaaahhh!!!” the police men screamed. He wasn't prepared to see a woman with blood covered mostly around her face and body. It was an awful sight to see. All the police men surrounded the police men that screamed and the blood covered woman. They all gasped with horror-strucked eyes. “Enough of that!” a man with a big badge on his chest said. They police men's horror-struken eyes turned into solemn ones. They took their hats and put it over their chest to honor the dead body. They put cones and tape(the yellow kind) around the area of where they found her. They needed to investigate how this happened. The chief looked around if there was any witnesses to help investigate this mystery. His eyes fell upon a little silver-haired boy with a black and red cap who had his head lowered. `I suppose that must be her son. How heart-aching for him.' The chief thought as he approached the boy. The man crotched down to see the little boy's face and asked, “Excuse me, but could you tell me what happened to your mother?” he got no response. The chief understood. He needed time. “Come. I'll take you to the police station to ask you some questions.” The chief put a reassuring hand on inuyasha's shoulder. InuYasha followed that man to the car. And they drove off the police station. Everything was silent in the car as they were heading to downtown. Until…. “Listen…” The chief was surprised that the boy could speak to him so soon. He was one brave kid. Soon the Police station came into view. “You could tell me when we get inside.” The chief said parking his car.

A Little girl with worry written all over her face was dashing into the hospital. Ignoring the yells coming from Myouga, she ran inside anyway and went to the receptionists counter. “Do you know where a..Mrs. Higurashi's room is?!” The little girl practically yelled. “Yes. She is in the emergency room. But she is having surgery right now. You will have to take a seat in the waiting room.” Yeah right. You think that she will just sit and wait while her mother's life was at stake here? She ran to find the emergency room. “Hey the waiting room is THAT WAY!” pointing a finger to the opposite direction kagome was headed to. Suddenly a fat, bald man in a police uniform came in. “excuse…me…have ya…seen a little…girl about…this height…” Myouga said making a gesture with his head about how tall she was. “….running this way?” Myouga asked sweat all over him since he was not use to this kind of running. “Oh yes. She just ran in and asked where Mrs. Higurashi's room was and went to the emergency room after I specifically told her to wait in the waiting room since the patient is having surgery rite now.” `(Sigh) great. More running. ` “Ok…thank you.” Myouga said running in the direction where the little girl went. Wait. Where did she go? “Err…excuse me...do you know where she went to?” A sweat drop forming on his head. The receptionist merely pointed to the direction to the way kagome went. “Thanks again.” Myouga said running to the direction the receptionist pointed him to.

“Ok…now can you tell me what had happened to your mother?” The chief and the little hanyou were in the interrogative room of the police station. “Ugh!” He got fustrated and took off his hat. It was getting hot in this room. The man gasped at the sight he just saw. 2 triangular silver dog ears sitting on top of the boy's ears. InuYasha arched an eyebrow confused by his action. Then he realized that the man's gaze was locked to his ears. He just kept…staring. Of course InuYasha got irrated and growled.

 

“WELL….ARE WE GONNA START WITH THE QUESTIONING OR WHAT! I DON'T EVEN FEEL LIKE TALKING ABOUT THIS ANYMORE!” InuYasha said leaving for the door, fustrated that the man could do nothing but gawk at his abnormal ears. “h-hold on! It's just so surprising I have never seen a han“

 

“hanyou?” Inuyasha finished.

“um…yeah..i'm sorry okay?” the man said pleading the boy.

“I just want my mother's death to be avenged!” InuYasha said angrily, balling his fists at his sides.

“I know…I know….and I am going to help you. All you have to do is answer my questions. That is all.”

InuYasha's anger calmed down. He was too tired to argue. It had been a long day….

“Well…I was just dribbling my ball and it fell..I went..to grab it..and the next thing I knew…I saw my mother..” Inuyasha balled his fists, tears beginning to form in his eyes.

“my mother pushed me out of the way then a car crashed into her.” Inuyasha tried as hard as he could to push back the vision of his mother pushing him away…getting hit by the car…the car just driving away like it was nothing. “wait…” the chief looked up to see inuyasha trying to say something. “the car…it just hit my mother and..and RAN OFF!” Inuyasha's voice got higher by each word that came out of his mouth. The chief widened his eyes and simply whispered. “hit and run.” The chief closed his eyes and said. “Thank you for your time, son. Now is your father home?” The boy simply shook his head. “Your brother?” again inuyasha shook his head. “Sister?” shook his head. “Aunt? Uncle? Grandma? Gran-“ Inuyasha couldn't stand it anymore. “NO! I DON'T HAVE ANY BROTHER SISTER OR AUNT AND UNCLE OR GRANDMA…IT WAS JUST ME AND MY MOM…AND NOW…SHE'S…SHE'S..” a look of guilt crossed the man's face. Here standing before him was a crying little orphan boy. `what am I going to do..?'

`Mom…don't worry I'm coming for you.' The girl thought as she ran to find the emergency room. She ran pass a sign that said `EMERGENCY ROOM'. She realized this and ran back and dashed inside. But the curtains were blocking her view of her mother. She pushed back the curtains and saw the sight of her mother and her blood everywhere as the doctor was using scissors to cut open her stomach. The metal plate next to her was piled with scissors and sharp objects covered with blood. Her mother's blood. “ What is this girl doing here!?? I am Operating on a patient!!!” The surgeon yelled through a cloth that covered his mouth. “There You Are!” Myouga caught her from behind. Myouga caught sight of her mother and noticed the little girl had the same eyes as his except her eyes were filled with more shock than his own. Myouga quickly covered her eyes. “I am really sorry about this. I will take her out.” Myouga bowed his apology and went out from the room. “NO LET ME GO…LET ME GO…WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO MY MOTHER?! MOM!” Kagome kicked her feet up and down struggling to get out of Myouga's grasp. “SHUT UP WILL YA?!” Myouga screamed at the sniffling girl once there were in the hallway near the emergency room. “why…WHY WERE THEY CUTTING MY MOM'S STOMACH??!” kagome yelled out. “Ssshhh…be quiet…” Myouga said as he put a finger to his lips. `oh my God. How the hell am I suppose to explain this to a little girl…' myouga thought rubbing his temples. “listen...” myouga began. Suddenly a baby's cry was heard. “Does that answer your question.” Myouga said with a small smile. Kagome was happy but not TOO happy. She still didn't know the condition of her mother. A tall man with a white coat and white cloth over his head and mouth came out the doors. He had a small grin planted on his face as he took off his mask. “Congratulations. It's a Boy.” The Surgeon said with a happy tone. Kagome and Myouga both grinned at each other happily. “This surgery was very difficult. We were able to save the child but…” the doctor's voice died down. Kagome's heart stopped. `please don't tell me he's gonna say what I think he's gonna say..' “we weren't able to save the mother. We tried everything in our power to save her…I'm sorry…I truly am.” That did it. Kagome blacked out and fainted.
