Sango couldn’t breathe.

Her whole body was paralyzed yet her senses were alarmingly alive. She could clearly feel the man standing behind her, only 3 feet away.

He slowly breathed out, his breath gently brushing her hair. He was a stranger, yet his male odor was so familiar that it filled the small space they were in. She could feel his dark violet eyes burning into her, gliding over her neck, her shoulders, her back…

Goosebumps rose from where his eyes once were, yet she tried to control her facial expressions and strove to maintain an expressionless face, not wanting to break under his intense gaze.

In reality, she wanted to panic and scream!

Sango dreamed that never in a million years would she meet this man again. What was even more unexpected was that it would be under these circumstances and occasion.

The elevator slowly went up, the numbers rose higher and higher.

She took a deep breath and raised her head slightly, using her peripheral vision, she swept her gaze across the mirrored elevator doors…

God!

Oh my fucking god!

Sango swallowed her scream and immediately bowed her head down.

He was staring at her!

What to do?! What to do?! Will he recognize her?!

Cold sweat started dripping down her neck into the bag of fresh oranges in the grocery bag. Her face fell down so low that it almost seemed like she was admiring her own soft curves. Her nearsighted gaze fell onto her feet and pretty toes stared back at her out of her Aeropostale flip flops.

Hope started to plant a seed in her heart.

Maybe…just maybe he won’t recognize her.

After all, that fateful night, she was “fully armed”, but at this moment, she was just out to buy some oranges. Not only was she makeup-less but she wasn’t wearing her contacts and had on some nerdy glasses. Her straight black hair was tied up into a messy bun and her Pink Victoria Secret T-Shirt and sweatpants still had some vague ketchup and mustard stain on it.

This sloppy and disheveled appearance, compared with that fateful night’s image is completely day and night. Besides, that night’s large amount of alcohol impacted her common sense, perhaps, it affected his memory.

The numbers continued to climb higher.

“Please Buddah! Do not let him recognize me!!” she silently screamed.

DING!

The elevator stopped at level 8, the elevator doors opened and Sango glided out as fast as humanly possible.

But just as she taken that step, she suddenly felt a tightening on her arm.Powerful hands circled her arms rendering her unable to move, let alone escape.

NO. WAY.

Her face pale, she slowly turned around, first looking at the tan huge hands that encircled her arms. Then after several seconds, she finally had the courage to raise her head to look towards the man’s face.

A handsome face, with a friendly infectious smile looked back at her, but those eyes contained a burning passion.
He leaned his head slowly towards her ear and whispered, “With your clothes on, I almost didn’t recognize you.”

Sango stared back at his ridiculously handsome face and couldn’t bare it any longer.

She screamed as loud as she could.
