“Inuyasha!”

It was the same every time. Every time she crested that wondrous summit his was the name she screamed. It didn't matter that guy she was with at the time, it was always his name.

And the guys she did didn't seem to mind as long as they had a hole to be in so why should she care?

Inuyasha's face lingered in her mind. While the haze of white light and gold still clouded her vision she could see him. His amber eyes, flaming with arrogance and pride and life, his silver hair flowing like strung together beams of moonlight in the wind, his fangs gleaming as a smirk spread across his face. She could envision it all.

But it was getting so hard to now, after he'd been gone for… was it a few weeks? A few months? Maybe a couple years? Kagome couldn't remember. The days blurred with the nights and the weeks melted into one month after another so that she had no sense of time.

She'd intentionally made it that way. She couldn't bear to remember how long it had been since the day he'd died. Since she'd watched as Naraku ripped through him, as his blood showered over her in hot droplets of crimson horror.

She felt a warm burst of fluid in the heated core of her stomach as whats-his-name beneath her had his release. She rolled off of him and felt a tightening of her chest, that fluttering ache that always came when she thought about Inuyasha's death.

How wonderful would it have been if he had lived? If Naraku had missed that fatal blow? They'd both been completely worn out, both bleeding and in excruciating pain though neither would allow their opponent to know it. If that cursed mass of warped together demons had only missed she was sure that Inuyasha would have won.

They could have been happy together, she and Inuyasha. He'd never actually stated his feelings for her, but she knew that he loved her. The way he looked when she got hurt, the way his smile softened just so while he glanced at her when he thought she wasn't looking. Even the look of complete inner turmoil when he'd had to go between her and Kikyou told her that he loved her. It would have only been a matter of time just like any other romance.

Her heart wrenched as she thought of all the times that could have been, what their child would have looked like, what marrying him and having their own happily ever after would have been like.

Why didn't she deserve a happily ever after? She'd done so much good with her beloved as they traveled with their friends. They'd fought dangerous demons, saved lives, nursed people back to health even when they needed to search for the shards. Didn't that count for something?

Her body gave a violent shudder and she made a tight fist in the dirty sheets of the bed on which she lay. If she could she'd be wailing, the hot tears trailing quickly one after another. But she'd cried so much since that terrible day that she didn't have the strength to do it anymore. Pain came in waves. Whether it was physical or emotional suffering she couldn't tell. It all felt the same anymore.

Kagome gave a harsh cry as the first flood of anguish passed over her and knew she had to get something, anything to stop it before she became engulfed by it.

She turned to face her partner and shook his arm. “Where is it? Where's the stuff?”

Whats-his-name muttered something and she grit her teeth, her head pounding as more agony ripped through her in a second agonizing wave.

“Come on! Tell me! Where's the stuff!” She shook the man's arm harder. He gave a smirk.

“Someone's addicted, I think.” His voice was taunting, teasing, cruel. She could have spat in his face, shrieked until she was blue she was so frustrated.

“Where?!”

“Damn, girl. I'd say don't get your panties in a bunch, but you aren't wearing them. What if I said I didn't have any?” The man's chapped lips parted to reveal a set of yellowed, decaying teeth. Before Inuyasha died, before he left her she would have looked down on this man, ignored him if he'd talked to her on the street or even run away if she thought he was following her.

But that was then. This was now.

Now she'd run away from home. Now she went from dealer to dealer looking for a harder fix. Now she slept with anyone who would give her the fix. Now they were the same.

“Come on! You said you had some!”

And right now, right at this moment, she would have sold her soul to get her hands on the drugs.

He waved a hand at the dresser. “Second drawer, under the clothes. All the equipment's there.”

She scrambled off the bed, tossing the covers away.

She ripped the drawer open and threw the clothes aside. “Where is it? God, where is it!”

Her hand closed around a plastic bag and yanked it out. In it lay a needle, a bandana, a spoon, a packet of white substance, and a box of matches. Kagome trembled as she poured the precious white powder into the silver spoon. She yanked a match from its box and struck it against the sandpaper side.

It wouldn't light. She struck the match again. No flame.

“Light! Please light!” she begged, furiously trying repeatedly before the match burst into fiery life. She stuck the fire under the spoon and watched with baited breath as the powder melted. Why was it going so slow!

As the last few particles became liquid she shakily took the needle and dipped it into the yellowish fluid. She pulled the plunger back, drawing it into the syringe.

She licked her dry lips and grabbed the bandana, tying off her upper arm with expert skill. She jammed the shot into the crook of her arm and pushed the plunger down, creating yet another track mark. She didn't feel the needle as it pierced the skin, didn't notice the too large pulse of liquid that she'd just sent rushing through her veins.

Nothing compared to the pain in her chest.

“That hit the spot?” Her partner had at some point gotten out of bed and was now behind her. She nodded slowly, closing her eyes to wait for the drug to take affect. The man smiled and walked past her, out the doorway.

“I'll be back. Make sure to leave some for me.”

She nodded again, not bothering to speak He didn't matter enough to break her concentration as she waited. Hm… addicted. She smiled slowly, her heart aching with every pulse.

How long will I be waiting? Until the end of time? I don't know why I'm still waiting. I can't make you mine.” The lyrics seemed so ironic right then and she couldn't help but laugh, a noise that sounded anything but joyful when coming from her mouth. But if you didn't laugh, you cried. And she couldn't cry.

I'm trying to forget that I'm addicted to you. But I want it and I need it. I'm addicted to you…

She sighed, deciding she could no longer wait for the rush that always helped her through the pain, always brought Inuyasha back to life for her.

She licked the tip of her finger and reached for the bag of drugs, sprinkling what little remained on the digit. It stuck just like she knew it would. She closed the drawers and turned, leaning back against the dresser. Slowly she slid the finger into herself, moaning at the sensation.

Masturbating was never as good as the real thing, but at least it was something. Something to warm her, something to fill her, something to help her forget.

A shiver, a moan, another finger. “Oh..!”

Her veins were warming now, the coil in tightening, ever tightening.

“Ah… Inuyasha…” she gasped, tilting her head back, moving her fingers faster and faster. In, out, in, out.

She had to get warmer. She had to feel him. She had to see him, to hear him, to surround him. She had to reach the white and gold haze of lights and burst of stars. She had to touch it, caress it, to make it hers.

Her free hand moved to press against her clit as she frantically worked herself into the haze.

That's it! Her veins were on fire! The coils were tightening as far as they would go! “Inuyasha!”

Her orgasm ripped through her hard, left her trembling with aftershocks. And she was tumbling head first into the white and gold haze.

“Oh… Kagome…”

She smiled up at Inuyasha as he moaned above her. God, he had stamina. He just kept going, moving in and out of her. And it was throwing her right into a second mind-blowing orgasm.

“Ah…!” she gasped, her hands tangling in the long mane of hair she adored so. He felt so good inside her, better than anyone else. He filled her until she thought she'd rip in two if he were the tiniest bit bigger. She marveled at how he could be so soft and so hard at the same time. Like a velvet covered steel rod. Mm…

Her nails dug into him as she felt a burst deep inside her belly, telling her that he too had reached his climax. It was always like that. He'd wait for her to come before he did. He was just amazingly wonderful like that.

“Kagome… Gods, you're still so tight.” He kissed along her collarbone, still completely sheathed inside of her writhing heat. Aftershocks continued to swarm over her body from the continued contact and she cried out.

“More!” she managed amongst her mewls of pleasure. She watched, her eyes hungry for more, as he lowered his head to her breast, circling her areole, agonizingly slow licks.

“Inuyasha,” she moaned, “don't take so long! I need you!”

His golden eyes gazed up at her as he took another lick. I'm busy right now.”

She squirmed, unhappy with the idea of having to satisfy herself instead of having him do it for her. “But… I need you! Please! Please! Ugh!

He smirked against her skin, she could feel it, and then moved down, nipping her just below her belly button. She jumped and moaned. “Stop teasing…”

“Whatever you want.” He descended upon her, his tongue grazing her over-sensitive clit. “Mm, you always taste good.”

She writhed, her legs wrapping around his shoulders and pulling him closer. He popped her thigh, the jolt of pleasure pain running down into her loins like electricity.

“No interfering with what I'm doing.”

Slowly, painfully so, she drew her legs away and moaned, “Hurry! Oh, hurry!”

He dipped his tongue into her, brushing against her hot spot and making her cry out. She never knew how he always seemed to know where her spot was. He was just perfect like that. And once he found it he always touched it over and over.

Her nails clawed at the carpeted floor, scratched at the dark veneer of the dresser. She couldn't take anymore and came once again, hot liquid rushing out of her, his name echoing through the room.

He pulled away from her heat, his mouth covered in come, and moved so that they were face to face. “Clean up your mess, Kags.”

Obediently, she brought the tip of her tongue to his lips and chin, licking the `mess' away. His mouth was so close, so very close. She had to kiss him. Her lips gently touched to his and he smacked her thigh again.

“Bad bitch. I told you already. You aren't allowed to do anything you aren't told or expected to do.”

She pouted, her mouth twitching at the corners as she tried desperately not to giggle. “But that's hardly fair. How am I supposed to know what I'm expected to do unless you tell me?”

Another sharp smack to her thigh. She moaned. Was it odd that she liked the reprimanding he was giving her? That it was making her even hotter than before? Did he know what he was doing to her? Not being reprimanding, but pleasing instead?

“No talking back. On the bed.” He pointed to said bed, the sheets of which were tossed about. Could she make it to the bed? Her limbs were still tingling with the last orgasm. She doubted she could walk, let alone get to the bed. But she had to get there. He'd ordered her to. And she wanted desperately to play some more.

So she crawled instead, moving on all fours until she was on the bed, watching as he fumbled through the dresser drawers. What was he doing? She didn't want to ask lest Inuyasha spank her again.

Hm… On second thought… maybe she would ask

But before she could open her mouth, Inuyasha was back. And he was holding what looked like several scarves in his hands.

“Spread eagle, Kagome.” She complied immediately, separating her arms and legs out in the demanded formation. She had an idea of what he was doing now. But… he wouldn't. That was so mean!

Apparently he was in a mean mood though because he did exactly as she feared he would. He knotted the scarves around her wrists and ankles, and then secured the other ends to the four posts of the bed.

“Perfect,” he murmured once he was thoroughly satisfied with his work. He rested a clawed hand on Kagome's abdomen and began a gentle massage, moving gradually up to her breasts.

Her hands yanked against the restrains, trying frantically to touch her beloved. She wanted to please him just like he was doing to her. But the scarves! The scarves were in the way!

“You aren't getting out of those knots. Might as well lay back and enjoy the ride.” Gods, he was so sure of himself! That smirk! It was enough to make her sob from aching for him.

He took a mouthful of her breast and she arched up, her breath coming in choppy gasps. His tongue kneaded her breast, his mouth sucked, his teeth scraped against her skin. It felt glorious!

Kagome thrashed against the scarves, pleaded for her freedom, Inuyasha just laughed. Her cries fell on apparently deaf ears. He was such a cruel dominant!

She gasped as he suddenly filled her eat and what little sanity she'd been clinging to burst in a million ribbons that floated around her.

“Say you want me.”

She swallowed hard and it took several moments before she could actually say what he'd told her to. “I… I want you!”

He rewarded her with a powerful thrust. “Say you need me.”

She almost shrieked the words, pleasure mingling with pain she needed him so badly. Her loins contracted sharply, her muscles squeezed around him. “I need you! I need you! Please!”

Another roll of his hips wrenched a screech of pleasure from her throat. He muffled the scream with his mouth, pushing his tongue between her lips. She eagerly returned the hot, open-mouthed kiss.

He pushed into her again and this time brought her over the edge. She moaned, her energy drained, as the haze overtook her, a content kitty smile on her lips. Apparently having come, Inuyasha fell to the side of her, his breathing labored.

“You okay?” she whispered, finding it hard to look at him with her wrists tied the way they were.

“Yeah.” He looked up at her and smiled a genuine smile, something he almost never did. “I'm okay.”

A quick slash of his sharp claws and she was free, her body curling to fit snugly against his. “How about you? You okay?”

She smiled up at him and placed a gentle kiss on his lips. “Yeah. It was wonderful. I've missed you so much…” Her eyes shimmered with unshed tears as she ran her fingers through his beautiful hair.

“I missed you too. I hate being away.” He softly rubbed her back, massaging her tired muscles until she felt like they'd turned to liquid. She sighed quietly.

“I want to be with you, Inuyasha. I can't stand to be here anymore. Not without you.” She snuggled her face into his chest, losing herself in the warmth of his comforting embrace.

Every time he came to see her she said that. And every time he always replied with `yes, you can' or `you'll get better over time' or sometimes `you'll get over me'. Didn't he understand? Without him nothing would ever be okay. She didn't want to get over him. Why didn't he get that?

“Well… you don't have to.”

She looked up at him, a bemused expression on her face. That was not what she'd expected at all. “What did you say?”

“When I go, come with me. We can be together again.” He looked down at her, his golden eyes full of life and pride and arrogance, just like always. But they were also filled with something else. She knew from the way her own eyes appeared when she was looking at him that it was love.

She wrapped her arms around his waist and kissed the sensitive skin of his neck. “I'd love to, Inuyasha. Tell me how.”

He smiled brightly and moved out of their embrace. He extended his hand to her, offering to help her up. “I'll help you. Come on.”

Eager, she took his hand and was pulled up onto her feet. She wobbled slightly, her knees still weak from sex. He was there to hold her up though and she leaned against the strength of his shoulder.

“Are you sure I can go with you?” she questioned, unsure of the whole thing. She'd obviously never gone with him before. Of course she was nervous.

“Of course I'm sure!” he smirked and sniffed. “I wouldn't have suggested it if I hadn't been. You should know that. Let's get going, Kagome.”

Together they walked for what seemed like forever. It was odd. She hadn't remembered whats-his-name's room being so big. What was stranger was that she didn't care. It didn't seem abnormal. So she passed it off as forgetting. She forgot a lot of stuff, why not the size of his room? Hm… when did his walls go from dirty beige to pitch black? Hadn't it been light outside? Why was it so dark now?

“I can't see anything,” she whimpered, moving closer to him. He was so warm. It soothed her worries.

“It's okay, Kagome. I'm here. I'll protect you, just like always.”

“Yeah… just like always.”

After quite a while more of walking, once Kagome's feet were pleading to stop, they came to a door. It puzzled Kagome though because this door was rather small and it didn't seem to have a knob. How would you open such a door? And how could it stand without a wall?

Luckily though, Inuyasha seemed to know the answer to at least the first question. He kneeled and pushed the bottom of the door up. It slid smoothly into the black that surrounded them. Bright light that blinded Kagome burst through the window and she shielded her face. “Okay, just crawl through, Kagome.”

She swallowed and took a step back. “I can't see.” She was scared. She'd never seen a place like this before. The white light in the door and the black around them seemed so strange even in her previously nonchalant state.

Inuyasha rolled his eyes and crawled through the small door. Making it to the other side, he held his hand out to Kagome. “There. I went first. Come on. It's okay. You know I'd never let anything bad happen to you.

Kagome nodded slowly and took a deep breath. Nothing bad would happen she was sure. Not while he was protecting her. So she took his hand and crawled through the door to the shadowy silhouette that his figure made against the brilliant light.

Her former partner walked back into the room, two beers in his hand. Kagome didn't really like beer, but lately she'd do just about anything he and anybody else wanted. If he wanted her drunk and high while he was doing her all he had to do was supply the stuff.

You ready for another round? I brought you something to help you feel real good.”

He looked around the room. Where was she? He hadn't seen her go downstairs. “Hey, you in here, Gome?”

He looked around at his messy room. There were scratches on his dresser, his clothes were everywhere, a syringe and all the other supplies were scattered about on the floor. Tattered scarves hung from all four posts of his bed.

A chill ran through him as the December wind swept through the room. “Augh. Who opened the window?”

He walked to the window and slid it shut. Through the cracked and smudged windowpane she caught his eye. The broken body of a young girl, her brown eyes dull and staring at nothing, her arms covered in ugly track marks, he long black hair strewn around her like a dark, mourning veil lay on the ground. And though a smile was on her face, she was undoubtedly dead.

“Oh God! Gome!” he nearly screamed as he ran for a phone to call an ambulance.

I'm addicted to you…
