I Missed You

Emptiness.

Loneliness.

Heartache.

Three years of being separated from his love, his reason for living.

He never stopped loving her, always hoping that she loved him back, at least just a little. A small part of his heart acknowledged the fact that all she had showed him the entire time was love and adoration, and his entire being sang with joy at the thought.

Envy at seeing his friend's continue on, having a family he couldn't have. They tried to be his family, they really did, but they couldn't replace her.

Longing that he would live long enough to see her again, even if just one more time.

Shock at suddenly getting a whiff of her wonderful scent after three long and lonely years.

Hope welling up in his heart that this was real and he wouldn't wake to the reality of being alone as he ran to the source of the scent.

Trepidation as he put his hand into the well hoping above hope that she was there and this wasn't another one of his dreams. Begging, praying that this was reality.

Relief coursing through his body when a familiar small and soft hand gripped his larger calloused ones.

Joy flowing through his heart and his entire being as he hugged the person he loves with his entire being, the person most dear to him in the entire world to him. The one who loved him back with her entire heart.

Kagome.

She came back. For him. To him. To be with him.

Forever.

A/N: This isn't originally what I was planning when I thought to write an InuYasha fic, I had a multi-chapter idea for him, but this idea just popped up. Working on my limited knowledge of what happens in the end I concocted this drabble. Major thanks to *~TeRrY~* who read through the fic and helped clear out any bugs from it. Luv ya :D
