Inuyasha growled a deep throaty sound as he remembered how Kagome had glared through her tears at him.

 

Flashback

 

 

“Inuyasha, who are you gonna choose? Me or Kikyo?” Kagome demanded in a deathly clam voice that made him shiver.

 

“I...I...I don't know” He had stammered.

 

“You have to pick sometime soon” Kagome said in the same eerily calm voice and added as if it was an after thought “Even though I know who you're going to pick”

”What?!” he had whispered in confusion “Who?”

 

Her eyes were filling with tears now “Don't make me say it”

 

He was getting annoyed now “WHO?” he hissed more forcefully

 

Her eyes held a fire in them now “KIKYO THAT'S WHO!”

 

“WHAT MAKES YOU THINK IM GONNA PICK HER WENCH!?” He had screamed at her. Something he regretted now.

 

“BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS DO!” Kagome was screeching at him through sobs by now and she turned on her heel, picked up her bag, and stormed out of the hut.

End flashback

Breakdown
I can't take this
I need somewhere to go

He quietly mumbled “I'm going for a while. If I don't come back for a few days don't worry or come looking for me unless there is a shard.” to Sango, Miroku, and Shippo who were shocked at his outburst.

 

He broke out in a run towards the god tree. He hopped to the highest branch he could get to and suddenly it struck him like wildfire, the guilt he was feeling along with the deep yearning to be near Kagome. He now realized how much he missed and needed her.

 

I need you
I'm so restless
I don't know what to do

Again Inuyasha was lost in memory.

 

flashback

 

“INUYASHA YOU BAKA! LEAVE SHIPPO ALONE!” Kagome screamed

 

“LEAVE ME ALONE! ILL DO WHAT I LIKE LITTLE GIRL!” he had bellowed back

 

“TAKE THAT BACK AND APPOLIGISE TO SHIPPO OR I SWARE ON MY LIFE I WILL SAY THE `S' WORD!”

 

“MAKE ME WENCH!”

 

“10”

 

“READ MY LIPS” he remembered sounding out the letters to her “N-O!”

 

“9”

 

Shippo then had stuck out his tong at him. Growling he whacked the back of the little kitsune's head. Hard. Shippo began to cry and ran behind Kagome.

 

It had started when he and Kagome were fighting and Shippo had snuck up behind him while the pair were fighting and yanked on his hair.

 

“8”

 

“SHUT THE HELL UP YOU WEAK HUMAN PIECE OF JUNK”

 

Oops. That came out wrong.

 

“THAT'S IT INUYASHA! SITSITSITSITSITSITSITSITSITSITSITSITSITSITSITSITSIT BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

 

He hit the ground hard and proceeded to make an inu-shaped crater in the hard dirt floor. Miroku, Sango, Shippo, Kaede and even Kirara hissed in sympathy because it shook the house as he hit hard.

 

The spell had worn off and he jumped up growling deeply and loudly. He remembered his youki blood boiling. His eyes must have been turning red because Kagome's eyes had widened in fright.

 

“WHAT WAS THAT FOR BITCH!?!” he remembered screaming at her

 

“FOR BEING AN ASS!”

 

Endflashback

 

He closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh as he made himself comfortable against the bark.

We've had our rough times
Fighting all night

 

 

Kagome was drifting away from him now. She spent more and more time in her era and when ever she was here she stayed with Sango or Shippo.

And now you're just slipping away

Inuyasha shuddered at the thought of Kagome leaving forever. He was slowly going insane at her mere scent, her smile made his heart skip a beat, her silvery laugh made his stomach churn. If she left forever he would simply loose the will to live.

 

Give me this chance
To make the wrongs right, to say

And with a jolt he realized he loved her. The high and mighty son of Inu No Tashio, the ice and stone man himself, has finally fallen in love. It felt different from what he felt when he was with Kikyo. But now he knew what it felt like to truly love.

Inuyasha started thinking about all the times when she had been there for him, someone to talk to, someone who would be content to just listen; he could trust Kagome which was something he didn't do easily. If she hadn't been there he would have never known Miroku or Sango or Shippo or even Kirara. To be honest, if he had never met her he would still be pinned to this very tree.

In all honesty he hated fighting with her. Sometimes he even backed down to stop her from going back to her time period by leaving and pouting in a tree for a few hours.

That I'm sick of these fights

Suddenly Inuyasha smelt Kagome's scent coming from the bone-eaters well. He jumped down from the god tree and leaped over. “Hi” he mumbled softly

 

“Hello Inuyasha” Kagome said back with a slight smile and turned on her heel to walk the ways to the village.

 

So give me this chance

“Wait!” He called after her.

 

“Yes?”

 

“Do you want a ride?” Inuyasha asked slightly shyly, pointing to his back.

 

Kagome smiled more warmly and nodded. He hoisted her up on to his back and started off again.

“Kagome” He said softly. He had every intention to tell her right then and there that he loved her but his mouth and gone dry.

 

“Yes Inu?” She was acting slightly different and the resident hanyou could smell something he couldn't quite put his finger on.

 

`Deep breathe and tell her' he was chanting in his head `after all she is only Kagome. She won't laugh.'

“I…. I….I” He stammered unsure of himself `o that's really gonna make her love me' he slapped himself mentally.

 

Kagome's eyes lit up with an eager look and she said some what happily “Go on”

 

Inuyasha stopped and set her down next to the god tree. Looking straight into her milky orbs that were like windows to her very soul, and taking her petite yet callused hands he took a deep breath and voice barely above a whisper he said “Kagome, I just wanted you to know that I have decided who to choose. Your words from a little while ago, before you left, made me think. I knew you were right when you said I had to choose between yourself and Kikyo sometime soon so…” He paused and took another deep breath “I choose you.” Her gasp silently encouraged him to go on.

 

“Ever since I met you you've been there for me. I may not have liked it, but you were there. Not long after I met you I slowly started to trust you, and… well… I began to fall in love with you.” Kagome's eyes had begun to fill to the brim with tears. At the mention of love they had started to leak over, leaving small, shining tracks. Inuyasha lifted a clawed thumb and whipped them away.

 

“Every time you leave, I get so board and I fight with you when you try to leave because I miss you so much.” He stopped and contemplated what he had just said. “Ok, that sounded so corny.”

 

Kagome giggled slightly. God he lover her laugh.

 

“Your scent is slowly driving me crazy and your mere laugh can single handily make my heart go to my throat.” He put his hand on her cheek, making sure he didn't cut it in the process “I need to know, when this is all over and Naraku is dead, will you be my mate and bare my child.”

 

(A/N: sorry everyone, I just had a Miroku moment -blushes-)

 

Kagome gasped and slowly nodded her head and whispered “Inu…Inuyasha… I… I love you too. I would be honoured to be your mate.”

 

Then what Inuyasha did next surprised them both. He bent his head down and claimed her lips upon his own. Kagome responded to the kiss, deepening it. Slowly and carefully he broke out of the kiss and moved the cloth of her shirt off her shoulder. Inuyasha slowly brought his mouth towards the exposed skin on Kagomes shoulder. Slowly his fang broke the skin and he dragged it along in a crescent moon shape.

 

Looking up he wiped his mouth on the back of his hand and Kagome smiled at him. She knew about the youki mating rituals.

Slowly Kagome slipped her hand in his and their fingers intertwined. They started their march back to Kaede hut to tell the others.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A/N: There. That was my first of many things. It was my first one-shot, Inuyasha fic, actual romance scene, and so much more! Lol. I love romance but I'm not very great at writing it but I think this turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.
