InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ I saw it before you ❯ Complicated First Nights ( Chapter 1 )
There was a ringing somewhere in her ear. No, it wasn't loud. But it sounded like it was getting there.
She shifted her head to the right, left, right…damn. No luck. The ringing was getting louder. By the time she'd be done trying to get rid of the noise, it would already be gone itself.
She was vaguely aware of what the ringing meant, but she just decided to name herself Mentally insane, instead of Kagome Higarashi.
Nope, it wasn't gone yet. Giving up, she bolted out of her bed and grabbed the phone of the base.
"What?"
The person on the other end must have found this amusing.
"Gee, Kag-a-rama, what's with you? Got bit in the sleep by another pesky flea?" They Snickered.
Kagome on the other hand, didn't find this so very amusing.
" Har-dee-Har-Har, Miroku, Har-dee-har-har. That Flea just happens to be my cat, and if there were any fleas anywhere it came from you. And you know what my problem is Mr. Know everything. Is there a reason why your calling me at 12 mid-night, or do u just get off on this sort of thing?"
Miroku Laughed. " Please If I wanted to get off on anything, id call Songo, no offense. But your mean when you first wake up."
Kagome sighed. "Is there a reason to this ever so delightful phone call Miro?"
He coughed. "Oh, yeah. Songo and me want you to join us for some drinks at the local Bar. She got Manager today and she wants to celebrate- on me."
Kagome laughed. " She can celebrate on you without me there cant she?"
Miroku stuttered. " AND IM THE PERV? God, Kaggsie. You know what I meant!"
She sighed again, pulling on her pants. " Yeah, yeah I got cha'…be there in 10."
She hung up without any goodbye's. Best friends didn't need goodbyes. They were always hello's to be called out instead.
Finished with her dressing, she grabbed her keys and made it out the door in a split 2 seconds and a half. Ok, maybe longer. But hey, who the hell was counting for me anyways?

The streets were deserted. They always were past a certain time. You would think a city like Jacksonville would have more people at night. But as wrongly classified that may be. It was still dark.
And quiet.
And, just a tad bit creepy.
No! She wasn't afraid, never Kagome Higarashi. Just a bit…on edge. Yep, that's right, on edge.
Don't argue. I'm the one out here not you.
She crossed the street only about a block away from the bar she was to join them at. She took on a little faster pace, still a little afai- on edge from before.
The bar came to view. Then it blurred. She slowed her pace. Thinking she must have been going crazy. It came back clearer then, so she continued. But as quickly as it cleared, it blurred again. Then stopped. Altered. And was gone.

There it was again. That damn ringing. Wait. Ringing? Where were the drunken laughs of the fat balding people in the back? The clanking of glasses. Gulps of beer being poured down throats? Songo's yell of Pervert at Miroku? And why the hell was she so warm and soft? Wait, not her. Blankets.
Her stormy brown eyes popped open in a flash, and so did her body to look around at her settings. She was in bed. It was morning. What the Hell happened?
She got up in her confused daze and answered the phone.
"Hello?"
"Were Where you? We waited for, forever and a half Kagome!"
Songo was irritated. That she knew very clearly.
"What are you talking about?" She asked confusingly.
She Sighed " What? The bar, the celebrating, the drinks, management, bad jokes being told, bald guys hitting on us. That thing is what im talking about. You told Miro you would join us, but you never showed."
Kagome was now very confused. She was sure she left last night. But she didn't remember getting there. She didn't want to tell Songo this though. She would just think her crazy or something…don't look at me like that im not crazy!
Kagome coughed. "Sorry Songo, I must have fallen back asleep. Forgive me? We'll party later. But right now I got to run kays? "
She hung up, again without the goodbyes.
Contemplating her next move for the day, made her get a headache. So she was heading back to lay down. Praying for another hour of sleep before she really had to start her day. But not 3 steps before the bed her head was crashed in from the inside out. She fell to the ground grabbing at her scull. As if an unseen force was trying to rid her of it.
Eyes rolling inside her lidded eyes, she groaned. The visions were blurs at first. Nothing of importance. Then Faces were shown to her. Men, Girls. A party. A band was playing in the back, singing the very noticeable song Broken Home, by Papa Roach. Then a girl came more into view. Her head down she looked scared. A man came from behind her, circling his arms around her. Whispering in her ears, things Kagome her self could not catch. He drug her bad to the outside ally. The girl shook. Kagome Shook in return. She told him no, Kagome couldn't hear it. But she could see the words leaving her mouth. Making the man madder. Hitting her, taking her. Vision after vision. Blood spilling, oozing everywhere. She wanted them gone. But how? Before she could even think to open her eyes. They were open for her.
The visions were gone. The only thing left to prove It ever happened were the very salty tears running down Kagome's face.
