InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ If I had three wishes ❯ prologue ( Chapter 1 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Author's voice: I need to warn you now: this story is something like an experiment for me. The plot
practically sneaked up on me from behind and tackled me to the ground, well to say the truth; the plot
was in a struggle with a hard case of boredom (well, no money for vacation does this to you) and won
without mercy to my poor lazy friend. Flooding my brain with bits and pieces of a story that could easily
be a book, so this one moved to the front behind all the other stories I am working on. Blame it on the
Manga comic books I got from a friend of mine… working yourself through 32 Inuyasha books don't
makes your brain work better… only deeper in the gutter, and hey, what shall I say: damn the ears of
this dog-boy are damn cute…

! IMPORTANT! READ THIS PART

I changed this part after I came to the understanding that the military part in this story isn't really the
main plot, reader (Tom, I mean you and others, hopefully this is better now, because I am not really
eager to step into the big world politics here
…) made me see that idea in general wasn't bad, but the
world politics that I've used in my head to create the platform for the story don't work that good in
action, so I changed it. The story basically stays the same and I changed not much; I ended the cold
war as it happened in reality, but in the last 20 years new conflicts came to be. I created a prologue to
get all this things visible for you, it also would be a better start for the story to know what I am writing
about in certain parts, so here comes the new version. Sounds complicated I know, but I will give close
explains for anything on the end of each chapter or in the chapters, the prologue is only there for you
to get a short look into it, and it isn't that important to know all the facts because it still plays in the
present time, just a completely different version of it.

WARNING: Lemon will be there in later Chapters as well as violence (from Chapter six on); I have
something for graphic writing here and not really the pure romance fluff so bare with me.

Thanks to my beloved Beta Akkera who hopefully returns to the business one day (If you want to know
what got into her, read about My love for reviewers who don't give critics but only bitch in my bio) to
my brother Anubis who gave me free access to his history collection and Ryoga who gave me his
Inuyasha Manga collection to lay my brain to rest with them, deep down in the gutter. And Tom or
Rommel17 who pointed out that I really needed a field more from the reality… thanks for your
help but I choose to go another path… hopefully I make this better now…

Before I forget it, the Characters aren't mine they belong to those who own them…

Now on with the story, I hope for reviews (I also will answer any question given to me per mail or
review)

Summary: Kagome takes the only chance to help her family out of their problems, joining the military
in a futuristic world in which Japanis caught in the middle of world wide demon conflicts…

If I had three Wishes…

Prologue

With the night came the darkness over the housings of those who weren't worth enough to find light in
the darkness. Normally they went along with it, made small fires or lit candles but in this night it was
different. Hate was brewing in the streets of Kyoto, hate for the difference made between the spiritual
and the mortal, men and demon or as it was written in the laws; hate between good human citizens
and unclean spiritual beings. Not that this difference was unique here, it reigned all over the world
since that day people understood that there was more than only human and animal. And whilst some
countries killed their problems, other used them to their benefit in the world, creating stronger demons
to use them as weapon what nursed fear and hate from others and brought even more problems to kill
into the hearts of men that wanted nothing more than peace.

This escalated so far that countries that hated each other made pacts for peace (1)and others that had
been brothers build walls and magical barriers between them. Solidarity was a word with limits in this
world, like peace or equality; on long sight all that stayed was a war with thousands of frontlines,
fought with words, embargos and hate that spread like poison into all beating hearts.

Small was the spark of freedom and need for peace, but it had turned to bonfire this night. Fires where
burning to light down the larger streets of the demon city part and people where populating the streets
peacefully in the warm summer air, hate was brewing but they did not riot openly against those people
in black that marched the borders of the ghetto like area. They showed that they could be creatures of
the light, like the men living around them; sitting on the streets with their Mates and offspring, eating,
dancing and laughing as they only did behind the walls of their houses. They where sure that nobody
would attack them as long as they stayed peaceful like those mortals that had protested silently
against wrong among men. (2) The lump of fear to be killed as it had been their paragon by the hands
of one of their own was swallowed for freedom's sake, although it hovered above them like a thunder
cloud.

This time lightning followed the thunder and it didn't pass from the warm summer night breeze, as
always when the higher powers had something against peace that could endanger their politics it
didn't stay like that. Somewhere a young fire demon lost his patience, rising into the air from his place
in an attack of his instincts, and there was the problem; and of course there also was the special unit
that cared exactly for such problems with instincts and demons powers out of control.

A special unit that - as ironically as it was- used demons against demons, rising them like men in

Special camps and schools to make them fight for something that was wrong in so many ways. This
had worked for more 20 years (3), free demons were in ghetto like areas close to cities where they
could be controlled, whilst the main part of their offspring got carried away to these units and fought
against their own parents in some way.

The fire demon had been not a major problem, two younger demons, the thunder demon brothers like
the others had called them, had appeared there just in time to control the damage, but in reality they
only nursed the sparks to a grown up flame that soon turned to a firestorm beyond anything seen
before.

Hinten, the older of the brothers had raised far over the rioting demons, laughing and waving his blade
over the helpless females and children that were running off. His younger brother Manten had his own
fun with using this just to lure peaceful demons into defending their offspring with all their power, what
in return made anything even more out of control. Soon the special unit needed reinforcements on
their own, lining up buses with their students to bring them into action. It had needed several other
demons to bring down Hinten and Manten alone (4), not to mention all the lesser demons that had
barely managed to save their own live in all the chaos.

Blood flooded these streets on this warm summer evening and half of those living in the area had
either lost father, mother or their own live. But of course this pictures never reached the people outside
the area that had been stage for the small war; all that those out there saw where the normal news
about embargos of international trading with America, Russia and some parts of Europe, riots in Africa
(5) and the middle east and pictures of a white haired, pretty weary guy with dog ears who picked up a
crying boy with red hair.

Nothing had been said about the fact that they had practically made their own riot, that there had been
innocent hurt that never should have been involved or that it only was the first step to heat up the
demons.

(1) I am talking about the end of the cold war in this AU world here, after which something like peace returned
between those two countries and their allies. What isn't to far from reality isn't it.

(2)In reality, Ghandi who tried to protest peacefully against the wrongness in his country got killed by a fanatic
named Vinayak Godsen on 30. January 1948 in a house in
New Delhias he wanted to pray peacefully with his
followers.

(3)Yet again I am referring to the end of the cold war, after which America and Russia started to work together (at
least in my AU) building a powerful wall against smaller countries like Japan and China who in opposite to them
had more spiritual power than the two bigger countries together. You'll get the picture here… America and Russia
have their problems of their own (political, financial, territorial and so on) plus two really big other treats on their
necks, whilst Europe tries to stay as neutral as possible in between the two allies and is on the brink to get
swallowed by them, seeking help from the Asiatic parts of the world with it, what splits the world and all their
countries.

(4) Referring to the death of Shippou's father here, in this Au he died whilst protecting his pup from Hinten and
Manten who went berserk in action.

(5) Africaand Australiatry to get rid of the demon problem with killing them, what brings riots of their own natives
who lived peacefully alongside spirits for thousands of years. Picture a sort of civil war of aborigines and all these
African tribes, there also was this problem in
Americawith the Indians who had lived in peace, resulting in new
reservations and mass annihilation of demons.
