The school bell rang. The sound of books being jammed into desks and papers being carelessly thrown into backpacks filled the room, along with the sound of kids laughing and talking. "Hey Kagome-chan!" said Hojo, as he walked up next to Kagome. "I know you haven't been here in a while, and there's a big math test coming up...so I thought maybe you'd like to study with me?" Hojo smiled affably.
"Oh, uhh..."
"I take that as a yes? Great!!! See you this afternoon." Hojo smiled and waved a ceromonious goodbye.
"No! Hojo wait...I mean...ohh!" Kagome called after Hojo, but she was to late,"See you there...I guess".

Inuyasha stood there, staring at the spot Kikyo left. "Kikyo...why'd you have to go?" Inuyasa decided that he didn't want to go back inside and face everybody's sympathetic looks. He decided that he'd go take a walk to the Goshinboku. Once he arrived he sat down infront of the tree and stared up at it. "Kagome...Wait!" A frantic look came across Inuyasha's face. "Kagome! I have to make sure she's okay, after all, Kikyo said something about Naraku and...and," Inuyasha ran ,full force, towards the well and jumped in. He wanted to get to Kagome as soon as possible. "Kagome...please be safe!".

"Where did Inuyasha go?" Shippo asked.
"He probably ran off or something," Miroku answered nonchalantly.
Sango said,"I agree, he should be back soon. Maybe he went to get Kagome-chan or something."
"I hope so, I miss her!" Shippo answered.

Kagome grabbed a snack from the cupboard and gathered up her books and homework. "Mom, I'm going over to Hojo's house for a little while, 'kay?"
"Sure honey, have fun!" her mom smiled cheerfuly, "Just be careful okay?"
"I will, don't worry!", Kagome ran off, towards Hojo's house. "Why am I doing this? I really want to go back down the well, but...", Kagome's thoughts trailed off. "I have to get to Hojo's house, it's for my own good, besides Inuyasha's probably just fine!"

Inuyasha ran out of the old shrine that housed the well. "Kagome!" he spotted Sota and ran up to him, "Where the hell is Kagome?!?!"
"Sh...she just left for Hojo's house a few minutes ago," Sota answered shakily.
"What!? Dammit! Where is this Hojo guy's house?".
Sota gave Inuyasha directions, and Inu set off after Kagome. "Kagome, if anything happened to you..."
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Kagome knocked on the door anxiously. It was opened almost instantly. "Kagome-chan! I've been waiting for you!"
"Oh, well...Hojo-kun, I'm sorry, but I can't come and study with you. I really apreciate the offer, but I have stuff to do and..."
"Oh well, It's okay. Atleast you came and told me in person, that has to count for something!"
"Hojo's always so optimistic, sometimes I wish Inuyasha were like that."
"Kagome-chan, are you sick again or something?"
"Huh? No! I'm fine. Why do you ask?"
"It's just that you look like something's bugging you is all".
"Oh, well, I'm fine. So anyways, see you later!"
"Yeah, bye Kagome-chan!"

Kagome turned around to walk away and nearly ran right into........"INUYASHA! What are you doing here? And what are you doing around here without your hat?!"
"It's kind of hard to explain, but you have to come back down the well. And why do I have to wear that stupid hat anyways ?!?!"
"Because of your..." Kagome realized that Hojo was still standing there, staring at them, "Because of your......JUST BECAUSE!"
"Uhh, Kagome, do you know him?" Hojo asked while pointing at Inuyasha.
"Uhh, yeah...kind of."
"Well then," Hojo began, "Nice to meet you, strange person Kagome knows!"
"Yeah, whatever," Inuyasha grumbled.
"Well, sorry about this Hojo-kun, but I have to go, bye!" Kagome said.
"Goodbye Kagome-chan," he turned to Inuyasha, "Take good care of Kagome for me!"
"What the heck!?!? Who is this guy anyways?" Inuyasha thought.
"Come on!" Kagome whispered to him, before forcefully pulling him away.

A few minutes later they where back at Kagome's house. "Why are you here?" Kagome demanded.
"Well, you could say I got some info on Naraku's latest scheme, and it involves you. So I came here to get you, 'cause obviously an idiot like you can't defend herself from Naraku."
"So he does worry about me...", Kagome thought. "Well, let's go!" and with that Kagome took off towards the well, dragging Inu behind her.

That's all for now. By the way, Inu is short for Inuyasha. (If you didn't notice. And, yeah, I know "Inu" means "Dog" in Japanese.) Oh yeah, I'm not sure which way to spell Hojo's name, "Hojo" or "Houjo". So if anyone knows the proper spelling, please let me know! ^_^
