#3: Indifference

Myouga is sitting on his lord's knee and waving his four little arms. He has been gathering rumors, the cowardly flea's customary task of bygone days. As usual, he has not moved close enough to the threat to verify the rumors. Seven feet tall, he cries. Fast as youkai. Delivers death. He shouts these things, but Sesshoumaru's studied apathy gives away nothing. The flea does not understand that the great dog divorced himself from his land long ago. He is almost human, now.

Hours later, Sesshoumaru will sit on his building's roof and scent the city's terror on the wind.
