Chapter 2 The Awakening

In my dream I am awake in my room. My lamp is on and my window is still open. I am studying like always, but something is wrong. There is someone else there. In my dream I don't notice and when I am done studying, I pull off my clothes and go to bed. With the lights off I can see them…the amber eyes peeking through the window.

The shadow enters my room and creeps over to me. I can't make myself wake up no matter how much I scream. The dark figure looms over me and begins chanting. I continue to yell at my other self until my throat is sore, but nothing will interrupt him. I am watching something that I can't control! The cloaked figure finishes the chant and raises a dagger. I scream one final time as the knife plunges into my side…

Suddenly I feel like something is ripping into my hip. Opening my eyes, I see the dream has come true…the amber eyes are inches from mine. The dagger that has impaled my side is lifted to the figures face, and I see him lick the crimson liquid from the point. I open my mouth to scream but my throat is closed. The amber-eyed villain closes the distance between my face and his. When he is a millimeter from my nose, I see what is in his other hand…a glowing pink jewel.

`What is happening? Why can't I move, and why do I feel like I am on fire?'

For a moment the figure just stares at me and then the pain from my side spreads all over my body. I go into the fetal position as my body burns from the inside out. I open my eyes and see the man smiling.

`Wait…is that fangs?'

Taking my last bit of strength, I reach my hand up and try to pull the hood from his face…but my vision abruptly goes black. My attempt to unveil this monster is futile.
