A/N: Hey, here's a new chapter! I know it's been a while, and I felt guilty. Thanks to everyone who reviewed! So, on with chapter 3.

Chapter 3

“I -” she started speaking again, but was cut off by Kouga and Inuyasha growling and looking at the direction from which they had just come.

“What's the matter?” she asked them nervously.

 

“Naraku. And he's coming this way.”

.o0O0o. 10 Minutes Before, With Kagura .o0O0o.

 

Kagura was still watching them in the cover of the trees and she was starting become impatient, when she saw Kouga's trademark, the familiar blue twister, heading towards the group. `Good, he's here, finally,” she thought with satisfaction. `I'll make my move soon.' She could see them talking and arguing (particularly Inuyasha and Kouga) and then she saw the inevitable “sit”. She took advantage of that moment of vulnerability to start her attack.

 

 

 

(A/N: Okay, just to clarify some things, the group is on a path with a forest on one side and the edge of a steep cliff that slopes down on the other. Sorry for the interruption, back to the story.

 

 

 

.o0O0o. Back With The Group, Present Time .o0O0o.

 

Both Inuyasha and Kouga got protectively in front of Kagome, Kouga on the left, and Inuyasha on the right.

 

“Listen you mangy wolf, I want you to get this straight. I'm going to be the one to take down Naraku, you got that?” Inuyasha said threateningly.

 

Kouga just snorted and rolled his eyes. “Heh, in your dreams, mutt-face.”

Inuyasha was about to retort back when suddenly Kagura's dance if blades attack came out from the tree tops in the forest, cutting some of along the way. The blades separated Kouga and Kagome from the rest of the group. Kouga swiftly scooped up Kagome in his arms and leapt out of the way. He just made it before the blades sliced and diced him and Kagome. He landed on the edge of the road, near the edge of the cliff. Kagura then made herself shown, and flew out of the forest.

 

“How dare you attack Kagome! You're going to die, Kagura!” Inuyasha yelled as her released the Wind Scar in her direction. She easily deflected the attack, and it died down.

 

“Fool! Have you forgotten that I am the wind itself! I control it!” she roared back at them. “Anyways, it's not you I'm after,” she added slyly.

 

Before Inuyasha had time to comprehend what she was saying (him being the dunce that he is), she unleashed another attack in the direction of Kouga and Kagome.

 

“No, Kagome!” Inuyasha called out to her in desperation and fear. Though he knew he could not make it in time, that didn't stop him from trying. Much, to his surprise however, the blades did not hit the couple directly, but rather, the land in which they were standing on. Their eyes widened and they both screamed as the rock gave way and crumbled underneath their feet, and they fell down into the depths of the forest below.

 

 

A/N: Well, hoped you liked that long awaited chapter. It's short, I know, and I meant for it to be longer, but I couldn't resist leaving it there. I know, I'm mean. I might get another chapter out this weekend, especially if a lot of people review!
